my FCD purchased on Sky Dec 2019 was moved from a cancelled cruise to march 2022 cruise.

You are right, dog.  That is exactly who did straighten this out.  All Princess' fault and I had to go through hours of phone time.  Turns out the problem was that when the credit was put back into the account, both $100.00 credits were put in my account instead of $100.00 in each account  So, could not be used as a FCD anymore. But, done now.  I don't understand why it had to be such a big deal.  As I have heard many time, with Princess there are problems beforehand but once you are on the ship, all is lovely.  Happy Sailings.

  2. We have a FCD which we purchased in November of 2019 while on the Caribbean Princess.  We used it as deposit on a November 21 cruise.  However, then we cancelled that cruise.  Shortly after, we booked a November 2022 cruise but the FCD was not yet in our account.  We were allowed to book the cruise with no deposit with the stipulation being that we must apply the deposit as soon as it was back in our account, latest September 19th.

Now it has, finally, been returned to our account.  Today our poor TA spent hours on the phone with Princess (3 agents and 1 supervisor).  The outcome was that they say it cannot be used anymore as a deposit but can be used as OBC.  We must pay the $1000. deposit by the 19th. It is not a problem having the $1000 tied up.  However, two things - We do not now get the $100. each OBC for using as a deposit.  Also, we are in our early 80s and who knows how many cruises we will be healthy enough to take.  If it is counted as OBC, do we get it back at any time?

I want to talk to Princess myself.  Any ideas of the department to call?

    Thanks.

  3. Thanks.  I was not clear - did not mean the cabins at the very aft of the ship.  I meant regular cabins in the aft section.  The description states 250 sq. ft.  i.e.  B712 as well as others.  Or perhaps it is only on the Canadian version of the site.  I will decide based on the smaller size.

I am sure that they are only 222 sq. ft.  I just thought that there was a possibility that I had found those secret cabins.

  4. Looking at a cruise on Princess Sky for next year.  Unfortunately we had to cancel one on this ship for November 21

Regular Balcony cabin - Aft.  When I click on any cabins available at the aft of the ship, the description comes up as 250 sq. ft.   Is that correct?  Much bigger than I believe it is, but I do know that there are some cabins which are larger.

    Anyone know?  Thanks.

  5. Since OBC goes on my account, just checking that when I go to play the slots on the ship, I use my 'card' and my account is charged.  The expense of the gambling is the same as charging specialty restaurant, excursions, etc.

    Is that correct?  Thanks.

  6. Yes, I was wrong - or, at least, I can blame partly on TA -HaHa.

Two different programs. We are part of the group that qualifies for the Cruise With Confidence program - booked in March and sailing in November.  I think that sound good.

The other is an insurance which has a cost.  Just checked it out properly.  Very reasonable, BUT the medical coverage could easily be only enough for a day in hospital.  Will get our own as usual.

  7. I just had my Travel Agent check this - yes, there is a cost.  It is an insurance product.  Princess was very confusing on whether government travel restrictions are included which was my main question.  The rest of it is fairly straightforward from what I have read.  But, I do not see that benefit mentioned.

I have the phone number of the insurance company and plan on calling them directly.  My TA may have not understood my concern.

I would be interested in others' experiences.

    Hi mjmalino,

I hope so myself only if it’s as good as it once was. I was on the Caribbean Princess in 2019 and it was awful. 😳 I thought well maybe It’s just me? So I asked some other people and they agree with me.

    Tony

We were on our first Princess cruise in November 2019 on the Caribbean Princess.  Lots of other cruises but first Princess.  Our friends rave about the Pub Lunch so it was a must for us.  Well, what a disappointment!  Perhaps just the Caribbean Princess.  Going on the Sky November 2021 and will try again.  Yes, right about getting in as soon as it opens.  We did not realize that and arrived about 1/2 hour before advertised closing.  Last people allowed in (Although a man behind us, loudly proclaiming that he was Elite, was eventually allowed in).  Food poor (except for Bread Pudding) and service poor.  Better luck next time, I hope.

  9. Thanks for the speedy help.  Sounds fine for us.

Do you know about the beverage package included in the Celebrity booking.  Again, not looking for premium drinks but do want to have specialty coffees and some cocktails and wines.

  10. Just booked a cruise on Reflection.  Included is Surf Internet.  I don't understand the term.  All I want is to receive and send emails and texts to family and friends, as well as accessing a few sites to check on hockey scores, etc.

I was quite excited to have wi-fi on this cruise but now am wondering.

  11. We are considering a Trans Atlantic cruise April 2022 on the Reflection.

With so many sea days, I am just a little concerned that it may not have enough entertainment.  We do love sea days but need to be kept at least somewhat busy.  We are not interested in Bingo, or Art Shows or Shopping lectures.  We do enjoy lectures on a variety of subjects, as well as games i.e. Crazy Golf, Scaventure Hunt, etc.

Any help from those who have sail a Trans Atlantic cruise on the Reflection or any of the Celebrity ships?

    We are in our 70s.

    Thanks.

    Ellen
