Some of the plugs stay live and some don't when the card is pulled out of the slot. If I remember correctly there were 2 on the desk and one stayed live and the other did not

Liveish MS Rotterdam Partial Panama Canal, November 12-24
iflyrc5 replied to rafinmd's topic in Holland America Line
Where did you hear this? From what I have heard from the engineering staff that the drinking water either comes from the ship RO system or a distillation process and then a little chlorine add per government regulations and minerals for taste. It should not have any more sodium than your drinking water at home. -
We were on from Sept 30 to Oct 28 and did not notice any smells and my wife is very sensitive to smells.

Liveish MS Rotterdam Partial Panama Canal, November 12-24
iflyrc5 replied to rafinmd's topic in Holland America Line
From a discussion with an officer on the Rotterdam last year the ship was modified during construction that allows the life boat structure to rotate in several feet which then allows the ship to go through the old locks. We are on this cruise twice in Jan/Feb 2024. I am hoping that we get to do one through the old locks so I can see this process of rotating the structure in for clearance and one time through the new locks since we have not seen them. -

Any News From HAL About Upgrading Entertainment ?
iflyrc5 replied to mcrcruiser's topic in Holland America Line
Yes - one night there was a last minute substitution of a movie instead of the Step One Dancers because of rough seas. Yes we were on for 28 days and had live entertainment every night on the World Stage. Some was excellent - some was good - some was OK - one (the comedian) was bad. Just my opinion. Just like people's food tastes - some might love the entertainment (I really like the Humanity show by Step One) and others may hate it. -
Any News From HAL About Upgrading Entertainment ?

We had guest entertainers on the World Stage on the Eurodam the last 3 weeks. -
Ruth is correct - and on sea days it is normally 8am and on port days it is normally 5pm. Check on the daily program/Navigator app.

To use those machines you would need to purchase one of the drink packages
-
Thanks - that did it. You are a life saver.

I am a dummy when it comes to phones and files. If I download the file to my phone how do I install it on my phone since I am not getting it from the play store? Thanks so much for your assistance.

How/where do you find the previous version?

I am just off the Eurodam last Saturday and my Navigator app worked fine but is now not letting me log in at all. I have 5 cruises booked. I logged out but now when I try to log in it says "Failed to fetch". I am using Galaxy S9 and Android 10. Is anyone else having an issue with Android and Navigator?

We have been on the Eurodam for the last 12 days and all is good. The food has been good everywhere. The gym is in excellent condition with what appears to me newer machines. We do not use any of the other spa services. Crew is great as usual - the Capt Vincent Engel is very visible around the ship as well as Yelena the Hotel director and the recently on board Jordan the CTD. We are booked to be back on the Eurodam for Jan/Feb 2025 for 42 days and not concerned at all.

A heads up for those boarding the Eurodam on Oct 12th - the ship will be going through several government inspections by the Coast Guard and Public Health folks so that will probably cause some delays in boarding

The pools on all HAL ships are freshwater and heated although some times they are much warmer than we like and sometimes they are much cooler than we like.

Who did you ask? When I called ship services I was told they did not have access to the wifi costs when purchased on the ship.
-
How/where did you find out the price of the Surf package when purchasing on board? When I called ships services they told me they did not have that information.
-
I started another thread asking people currently on board the pricing. At a minimum I will post the pricing when I board later this month.

I realize that purchasing the premium wifi plan ahead of boarding it cheaper than purchasing it on board but we have a lot of ship board credit and would like to compare the pricing. We have a 7 day and a 21 day back to back on the Eurodam starting in about 3 weeks. On the HAL site it shows if I purchase premium wifi on board the price is $34.99 per day however when I have purchased this plan on board in the past I know when purchasing it for a entire cruise it was much less than that. So I am looking for any of our cruise critic folks recently or currently on board a DAM ship that can tell me the price of the premium wifi for a 7 day and 21 day cruise when purchased on board. I called the ship services phone number but they told me that they did not have access to that information. They did tell me that I could purchase the plan ahead of time and then when on board I could have the charge transferred to my on board account and my credit card would be refunded. Not sure that is true - has anyone tried that and did it work? Thanks for any and all information on this topic.
-
When I click that link it only gives be the price if I purchase it a day at a time. From our cruise back in Nov 22 which was 14 days I purchased the premium package on board for $139.99 but I think that included my 5 Star $30 discount so the full price may have been $169.99 or about $12 per day.

Do you know if this is for all ships? I understand that some of the ships now have the STARLINK system operational so wondering if the pricing on those ships is more? We are doing a 21 day on the Eurodam and the premium plan purchased ahead is $291.99 for 21 to 25 days. Our issue is that we have lots of ship board credit to use so if I purchase before leaving the price is lower but we can't use the ship board credit to pay for it. Does anyone have the pricing for the premium plan for 21 days if purchased when on board - would like to see that price.
