  1. We all had a good time but Owen throughly made the best of his early birthday gift. He has signatures on a ball from Springer, Katoh, Zimmer, Espinal, Head Coach Montoyo, and Third Base Coach Rivera. Owen was also a relay player passing hats and balls from the kids in the rows in the section behind him for signatures before the game started. As players passed Owen games balls during the innings, he spread them through the kids in the audience. He’s a great kid. It makes me proud. Owen with Springer. Owen with Montoyo. You know that new jersey Owen got… it’s now a signed jersey. At the end of the game Owen was chatting up coach Schneider and asked for the larger bench lineup card for both teams. He said he could not give that up, but he did give Owen the singular line up card for Houston which is signed by Head Coach Dusty Baker. Hopefully he won’t have his 2,000 coaching win against the Jays this series. He is at 1,998 as of last night. Owen clearly had an amazing day.
  2. This trip was part of Owen’s birthday gift, and he made the best of it. He got a new jersey because he grew out of his old one since Covid started. For those who don’t live in Canada, last night’s game was promoted for weeks as Bo Bichette Bobble head night for the first 15K into the stadium. We got ours. Sharon noted that she’d like the ground crew to take care of her gardens at home. Home Plate Lady arrived in style. She is a the matriarch for the family that owns the team. She sits behind home plate, second row. I had a brief conversation with her last night. A very approachable and lovely lady. If you have watched a Jays game you will have seen here. The menu for the seats in this area. Let’s just say I ate my value in food as it’s included, β€œfor freeβ€πŸ˜‰in these seats. LOL, we all did. I think I ate something every inning.πŸ˜‹ The Jays batters were on deck right beside us.
  3. We have returned home from Toronto. The drive home was much better than the trip there. Traffic was much better returning. The trip up took an extra hour thanks to a combo of traffic, construction and time of day. We stayed at the hotel attached to the Rogers Centre. When we checked in Lisa and I got an upgrade to a King Suite room, and Sharon and Owen got to share a regular room. Very nice for us but a longer walk down the hall. It did have a large table, so in typically fashion where we ate Tim Hortons breakfast sandwiches this morning. A Timmies was close by so we walked and brought them back. A couple photos before we entered the Diamond. We heard that there were over 35K fans there last night. Just a handful at one of the gates waiting to open. We always arrive early. Houston was having batting practice. This fan was quietly showing his distaste for Houston’s World Series win a few years ago. Certain Houston players got extra boos while at bat.
  4. Jim, this is the best way to show you where we were seated. Sharon and I were two seats to the right of the gentleman in the first row. Just out of sight, which is perfect for me.
  5. Tell me you’re not going today, because we are. πŸ˜‚ Just don’t tell anyone you have it, so when you slice they will be none the wiser.πŸ˜‰
  6. I’ve never waxed my boards, but I know some that have. Maybe Google or the RC flowrider FB page might help you out. Mine have never gotten hairy enough.πŸ˜‚
  7. That mass was a frog, that blended into the stair’s surface. The frog, the snake and Lucy were all doing the same thing, taking in the sun to stay warm.
  8. I am glad to report that they are poison free. As for Owe,n many thanks. It takes a lot of work but he is proud of his marks.
  9. Owen had another soccer game today. They tied 3/3 but actually came back to lead 3/2 from being down 2/0. A much better game today. Weather was even summer but just a high of 7C when they were playing. On a better note for Owen, it was mid-term mark day. 83 Drama, 83 Geography 93 Gym and 95 English. He was disappointed that his gym mark was lower than English, LOL. Tomorrow is a PA day, so no school for Owen. We are headed to Toronto tomorrow for an overnight, to watch the Blue Jays play Houston. We are lucky enough to have seats first row home plate and row two beside the Jays dugout. Owen is hoping for some signatures and maybe a ball or two. If you are watching on TV we should be approximately where the red circles are.
  10. Soremekun, I don't know if this is your humour or a legit comment. It very well could be interpreted either way, by your normal commentary. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚
  11. Woke to this. At least the robin isn't nesting on the front porch pillars yet. Maybe that's for later today. This should be the last snow of the season for us. 🀞
  12. If they taste as great as they look, they must be the best cakes ever. Clearly she would never put raisins in anything. πŸ™‚
  13. A bit on the animal front here. We are waging β€œwar” against a robin. It is trying to build a nest on our garage motion lights and side porch pillars. We attached caution tape which flaps in the breeze and scares them away. They think it’s perfect, high and out of the elements. Meanwhile our security cat is keeping them away from the front porch pillars.
  14. I hear you 100%. We have snow on the forecast for tonight and hopefully it will be melted by their game on Thursday. After that our forecast warms up with lows just above signal digits Celsius.
  15. We are home from the soccer game. We are still freezing even though we have been home for a while. The high today was 8C and felt colder with windchill. Unfortunately they lost 5-0 and could have played much better. considering they have only had one practice I think it went OK because the team they played was spectacular. Our goalie is amazing and because of that the score wasn’t more one sided. Not much more to say than that, at this point in time.
