  1. We did ask about the FCC and sent the letter from the captain but have not gotten a response to that issue.
  2. Thank you everyone for your suggestions on resolving this issue. Our travel agent contacted Erin and she was able to facilitate our refund. She did agree that the invoices sent out by Azamara do not accurately give the cancellation fees. She did say that the fees are spelled out in the cruise contract that we are all asked to sign. I don't know about you, but we have not really read that entire document, but we will from now on.
  3. We did book through a travel agent and they are pursuing the matter. However, so far, Azamara has been ignoring all emails.
  4. We just had to cancel back to back cruises with Azamara. These were booked under one booking number and the invoice showed that the cancellation fee would be $75. When we called to cancel, we were told the cancellation fee would be $300. $75/person for both cruises. This was not stated on the invoice. We canceled this booking because when we sailed with them around South Africa, most of the ship's passengers suffered with intestinal problems and the ship lied about the cause. The pool was closed for the entire 37 days. The company promised a future cruise credit for the days spent in isolation because of the illness but never made good on their promise. We do not trust this company anymore and do not plan to sail with them ever again.
  5. We are still onboard. Things are mostly back to normal. All water is now from Spain. Our friend onboard has been suffering for two weeks and the doctor finally gave her antibiotics and she is was better in 24 hours. The pool is open and White Nights will be on deck rather than in the cafe.
  6. Well, I started this by saying I had gotten the ailment but not my husband. Now he has it. He has not eaten off the ship! Whatever this is, it is on the ship and they either cannot or will not tell us what is causing it.
  7. I have had the illness but my husband has not. We drink both bottled and ship water. At first I thought it was the water but that doesn’t explain why I got it and he did not.
  8. We boarded on Feb. 8 in Cape Town and pool and hot tubs were closed due to some intestinal issues onboard. Now, three weeks later, the cause of the issues still has not been found and the pool is still closed, paper menus, no self service and no books. The captain claims that it is not a norovirus epidemic. We have had officers, the future cruise consultant and cruise staff serving food as crew disappears. Hope they find the cause soon!
  9. I went 2 months after the surgery. It was a simple caribbean cruise on the rotterdam. I sent a lot of time in the hot tubs and walking slow laps on the promenade deck. I cruised last month on TA and to UK .on the ZUIDERDAM and it was much easier getting a round If you need more detailed info , you can email me at sfgrosscpa@gmail.com -steve
