  1. I loved Pan Pacific. It was so convenient - but of course you pay for the convenience.
  2. The state department has just raised it to level 4 - do not travel https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/china-travel-advisory.html

  4. NOW - on to the warning. Please know that I have never written a negative review about a shore excursion on this site. I understand the struggles of some of the islands. I understand the people are doing what they need to survive and I want to support them. BUT there’s a line between trying to survive and downright taking advantage. My son and I decided to check out Maho Beach to see the planes land. If I had known then what I know now, I would not have gone. The tour guide told us on the drive over that once at the beach it will cost $1 to go to the bathroom. Okay, ha ha. No problem.
  5. This is going to be a real quick review and I’ve hesitated on this because there will be some negative. But I can’t say how many times I thought, “Darn it - I wish I had known about this in advance.” A little background, my adult son and I live in Central Florida. This was our third Oasis-class cruise, sixth RCI cruise. The ship and the crew were awesome. The shows were fantastic. For the first time ever we felt motion on an Oasis-class ship! I love a little motion, so it was wonderful! I love getting sea legs. I love the creaking of a ship. It was great!
  6. Wow - thanks so much! I have T-mobile, an Android. So this sounds doable! Really appreciate all your help.
  7. I'm hoping someone has some kind of solution. I need to have phone access while on the ship. My mother has dementia. She gets confused and scared, so she calls me, sometimes several times a day. I called RCL and asked them if there was anything I could do to receive phone calls on board. They said contact my cell phone provider. I called my cell phone provider, and they said there's nothing they can do. I've never had a need to be so connected, but I'm sure someone out there has. I was thinking maybe getting the internet package and using something like WhatsApp, but that changes your
  8. I'm looking at the 9-day Denali in May 2020, which includes a night in Fairbanks. I see there is a Northern Lights tour, but can you really see the Northern Lights in May? I would love to see them, but I thought they were only visible in the winter. Has anyone done this excursion? TIA.
  9. It's going into dry dock. When I attended the captain's Q&A while on Allure a couple weeks ago, he said the Allure was going into dry dock for five years!! I'm wondering if he misspoke and meant five months.
  10. I attended the officer's Q&A last week where this question was asked. Apparently the answer has to do with the Jones Act and sailings originating in the U.S. have to go to a port out of the country. I'm not stating verbatim the answer as it was given and I don't know the technicalities of it, but that's how it was explained.
