OK..First cruise in 7 DAYS!! Getting Nervous!
I am starting to get nervous now...I don't know why! Here's what I have done in preparation for the big day....However, please tell me what I still need to do!!! Held mail with USPS Have passports All excursions are booked Cruise paid in full Bought battery operated travel clock Programmed cell phone for international zones (although I don't plan on using it) I know that I'm forgetting things...Help!!;)
I don't know if anyone mentioned this, and frankly there are too many posts to look through to find out. If you are taking a debit/credit card with you, make sure you let the bank know. My sister recently went to Cozumel and forgot to notify the bank... their card was declined for a transaction. They got things squared away, but you can void the hassles just by making a call beforehand.

~ Need help from experienced cruisers! ~ (LONG)

Why not fly to San Juan... (not that much farther than Florida) :) ... and take the Victory to the Southern Caribbean?
  4. ...on CNBC on Tuesday at 9pm. It's also on at 10pm, but I believe it is the same show. It includes his 7 day cruise aboard the Norwegian Pearl. Set your Tivo's (or VCR's)!
  5. I've never bought from Carnival, but I do have t-shirts made from a different site. This is a t-shirt I had made for our upcoming cruise... I had 1 made for DH and I. I've had them made for all of our cruises. His is a different color and font. Got them at youdesignit dot com!

Can you pre load your ss card?
I went back and looked at the email from Carnival and I have two more days to wait before it will show :(
It takes several days for it to show up on your account. Also, someone said to put "On Board Credit". I've always just used my booking number. I want to make sure it goes on MY account, not someone elses. :p We've done this for each cruise. Works for us!

Can you pre load your ss card?

We've put $500.00 on it via Carnival's web site. Just go through the process as if you're buying a gift certificate. When the time comes to put in your address, put in your booking number instead. You will get a confirmation email. Make sure you print it out and bring it with you (just in case) It took a couple of weeks for it to appear on my account when I looked at it on their website.

Has anyone been to Prickly Pear recently?

I'm very curious about Prickly Pear island. Can this excursion be done on your own? Their website says they depart from Hodges bay. Is that where the cruise port is? How much is it per person? We've never been to Antigua, so any information will be helpful!
  9. Sounds to me like it's for the gratuities? It's $70.00 per person for a 7 days cruise. Could it possibly be for that?

    Decisions, Decisons! Need help

My husband and I will be in Barbados on Tuesday, 5/11. We really wanted to do Harrison's Cave, but they're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. :( Sooo.... we want to spend the day at the beach. We're looking for a beach where we can get a chair, that has a bar (and food), and changing/restrooms. We would also prefer not to have to travel too far. Do Surfside Beach and/or Accra qualify? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  11. I for one am glad it was asked. I have only cruised on Carnival previously, and they keep all of their clocks set to the local time of the embarkation port. I had no idea they changed the clocks on princess..... good to know! :p

Caribbean Princess - Suite or Caribe Deck?
You mention both a mini and a suite and they are two completely different cabins, which is it you are considering? Mike:)
According to The Princess web site, it's called a "Mini Suite with Balcony". The room we currently have booked is a Category BA on the Caribe deck.
  13. We're booked on the Caribbean Princess for a cruise in May. This is our first Princess Cruise. :p We are currently booked in cabin C605... it was the last balcony available on the Caribe deck. We have an opportunity to booked a mini suite guarantee for just $50.00 more per person. Is it possible to get a bad location in a suite guarantee? Should we keep the room we have or switch to a Suite? Looking for opinions please. Thanks!

  15.
I totally agree with Hal . . .sailed Carnival once . . . can you say Walmart??
My pet peeve.... Let's see.... first guy says "friends don't let friends cruise Carnival", and yet I don't see any indication in their signature that they even qualify to judge. Second person just thinks he/she is better than those of us that do cruise Carnival. I happen to shop at Walmart, AND have cruised Carnival, and surprisingly, I have a very good job and home. I do plan to cruise on RCCL in the very near future, and hopefully will meet people that are not as close minded as the 2 of you. Have a wonderful evening
