  1. I have been bringing my insulated bottle on my cruises for the past two years and never had a problem. I pack it in my checked luggage. Security has never stopped me when returning from a shore excursion.
  2. Horizon definitely has this Funfetti cake but available only on embarkation day during lunch hours in the Lido Marketplace. It is delicious and better than chocolate melting cake, in my opinion. I stop at the cake station first and get two pieces before I decide what I want for lunch and sometimes this cake is my lunch. I brought a piece back to my stateroom when I sailed in April and enjoyed it in my stateroom later in the evening . I'm sailing on the Sunrise in February, hope they have it available.
  3. The wonderful thing about these cakes is that they taste and look like a cake you would make in your home from scratch. I agree with SmoothFlying, it would be great if they offered these for dessert in the MDR. You can ask for a slice of every cake they have and see which one you like best. Other than my favorite Funfetti Cheesecake, honorable mentions were the Oreo Cream cake, Raspberry Champagne cake, Lemon Meringue cake (o.k. I'm drooling now). Some of the cakes are also Diet cakes but don't know if they were sugar free.
  4. Some of those layer cakes have been the best desserts I have eaten on Carnival, even better than the chocolate melting cake (don't judge me, just my opinion). I don't know if they offer them on every ship or not. Carnival had them on the Horizon. If you like cheesecake, try the Funfetti Cheesecake layer cake only available on embarkation day...it is tangy, creamy and delicious. The cake choices change every day so if you try one that you like, bring back some pieces to your stateroom to enjoy later in the evening because it will not be available again. I believe they had 5 or 6 different cakes every day. Some of the cakes I enjoyed were carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, red velvet cake, hummingbird cake, s'mores cake, peanut butter cake, etc. The cake station was the first stop I made before I decided what to eat for lunch, some days the cakes were my lunch, LOL
  5. Does anyone that is fully vaccinated plan on getting tested 3 days prior to your cruise as suggested by Carnival??
  6. I'm not surprised that the bartender didn't know how to make a Daiquiri because when we sailed on the Horizon in April, we sat at the aft bar next to the pool and ordered a Mojito. It was so tart, I asked the bartender if he forgot to put simple syrup in it and he told me that Mojitos are not made with simple syrup. I asked to speak to his supervisor and the supervisor also said that Mojitos are not made with simple syrup. I went to Guest Services and filed a complaint which probably went into the trash bin or they hit the "delete" button on their computer.
