  1. Ate at Moderna just once, about 3 years ago on Breakaway. I'm still full! It was "Meatstock"! Elvis
  2. FLAHAM, I'm an XO drinker myself. Did you ever try Louis XIII cognac? Priscilla and I were sitting at the Haven bar an a previous cruise when I noticed there was a bottle of Louis XIII on display. I said to Priscilla, "You know, once in my life I have to try that to see if it really is better." She said, "Why not tonight?" I never loved her more than I did at that moment! I told Sergio, the bartender, and he brought it to me on a silver tray while wearing white gloves! On the tray was the bottle of cognac, a measuring glass (crystal) and a snifter (also crystal). He poured out a 1/2 ounce in the measuring glass. (It cost $80 for a 1/2 ounce) He transfered the cognac into the snifter. At this time I noticed that everyone in the bar was looking at me. Sergio talked me through the whole tasting process. FLAHAM, it was a religious experience! It tasted so much better than XO! The warming effect was felt through my entire body! The taste stayed with me for about two hours! I even put off smoking my nightly cigar because I didn't want to ruin the taste in my mouth. It took me a good 6 months before I could bring myself to drink XO again. I have another cruise coming up in February. I'm looking to repeat the experience! Elvis
  3. Does the port of Los Angeles have a separate Haven security line? Elvis
  4. If I knew there were non-Haven in there I might have a problem with that. I pay a substantial premium to stay in the Haven and I wouldn't like it if they allowed just anybody in there. (No offense to any outside people. Sometimes I'm one of you!)
  5. Don't say that! The first time I stayed in the Haven wasn't planned that way. I had a cruise that was paid in full, but was canceled due to the pandemic. They offered 100% of my money back or 125% towards a future cruise. I took the 125%. I figured the pandemic was either going to kill me or it will be over soon and things will get back to normal. Two years later, when it came time to reschedule, I really didn't miss the money I had already paid, so I just added some more and we went in the Haven. Since then I only book the Haven when I see a good price. Please don't think me a "Haven snob" (although when I'm in the Haven I think of myself as one!)
  6. I've sailed on two NCL ships, Escape and Breakaway. Escape twice, and Breakaway once. When we were on Breakaway I had a mission: find the best prime rib on the ship. I have to say that all were good, but the best was in the Haven Restaurant! On my last NCL cruise, which was on Escape, I found the prime rib in Cagney's to be very tough! So the next night I went to the Haven restaurant and had what I thought was the perfect prime rib! The Haven is worth the extra cost for the prime rib alone! Elvis
  7. We are going to take our 3rd Haven cruise this February. As far as I'm concerned The Haven is the only way to go! And, if you have any questions, the topics in this thread cover just about everything!!! Just about anything written by Sthrngary or Birdtravels will be right on. Elvis
  8. I've got all bases covered! I printed them out, they are on the app, and I've taken a screen shot! There's no way they are keeping me off that ship!!! Elvis
  9. Go to the MDR. If they can't seat you, they'll let you know. But, I don't see the problem. Just tell them Elvis said to feed you! Elvis
  10. What makes you think we're not alcoholics? Elvis
  11. Just to clear something up: there is no such thing as an inconsiderate cigar smoker! Let the flaming begin! Elvis
  12. He was covered in sewage? I think they would be more than willing to provide a free cruise to avoid a possible lawsuit! Elvis
  13. If the casino is not open why don't you join me at the Sunset Barfor cigars and cognac ? Elvis
  14. Just ask the Captain to make a detour to the USMMA. They have a dock there. Shouldn't be a problem. Again, just mention my name! Elvis
  15. You, my friend, sound like my type of person! A Cuban Cohiba? I was never into Cuban cigars. I just don't think they live up to the hype! My go to cigar is a "Leaf" by Oscar. I have a bundle of them for my May cruise to Bermuda. I can taste that Remy Martin now! Do you drink VS, VSOP, or XO? Three cruises ago, aboard NCL Breakaway, we were sitting in the Haven Bar one night and I said to my wife that once in my life I have to taste a Louis XIII cognac to see what the difference was between that and XO. She said, "Why not tonight?" I have never loved her more than at that moment! The bartender served it on a silver tray and served it in a crystal snifter. It was a religious experience! I've never tasted anything so smooth and warming in my life. I even put off smoking my cigar for about two hours because I didn't want to spoil the aftertaste it left in my mouth! I hope to repeat that one more time! Elvis
  16. I've been on NCL Escape and Breakaway and it's always been packed! I hate to see the industry going in that direction! Elvis
  17. I disagree! You can tell old people to go to hell! You can't do that to children! Elvis
  18. I know I'm going to draw the wrath of a lot of people (Including Priscilla) but I don't think children belong on a Celebrity cruise. Celebrity is a more "adult" cruise line. There may be a kids club onboard, but there are no slides, no splash zone, no go carts, no roller coasters, no carousels, etc. Maybe you should take your kids on a Royal, Norwegian, or Carnival cruise. They'll have a much better time. Just something to think about. Elvis
  19. That is respectful and wonderful. This way Mom will be on a cruise for eternity. I'm sure she would approve! Elvis
  20. Question, not looking for a lecture, - have all the cigar lounges been removed from all the Princess ships?
  21. I better pack my "Sergios"!!!! Elvis
  22. You should dress the way you want to! Personally I love to get dressed up. I love wearing my tux! I love it when my wife dresses formally. If you want to get dressed up you should! Don't let anyone talk you out of it. It is your cruise! Elvis
  23. A Belvedere martini with olives (not dirty). You are speaking my language! The trouble is after just two I run the risk of getting stupid! Believe me, nobody wants that! That is why I switch to rum, except at night when I drink cognac! Elvis
