I would recommend taking an excursion in Freeport as there is less to do near the port. In Nassau you can walk through the straw market, take a cheap shuttle to Atlantis, or hire a cab driver to show you around the island for about $30 per seat in a van..

I agree to call CS. I did just what you are planning to do a few years ago and got the passes on arrival in the morning, though the room (which we never used) was not yet available. CS is well aware that people do this, so it isn't like you need to be secretive about your plans.

Looks like there is a possibility our day in Nassau will be a washout. Any good ideas of what to do on a rainy day?
