  1. We booked Explorer for Jan 2021 for the itinerary. I now think we have a less than 1 in 10 chance of sailing. Not to worry I thought, as we can always delay a year. Learnt about change to Radiance - no problem! Looking at the itineraries now though I think we'll go for something else entirely.
  2. The Nile is too small. I think the Red Sea ports for these are Hurghada/Safaga (Luxor) and Port Suez (Cairo) but its about 2.5 hours on a coach.
  3. Looking promising for Anthem and Indy in Southampton for 2022
  4. I've found myself extremely bored during the lockdown and started looking at old itineraries for a piece I'm writing about the Empress of the Seas. I came across a Hong King website with this Majesty itinerary from 1999 listed: http://www.tiglion.com/cruise/cruise/1999/rc/majes132.htm It appears the ship would disembark passengers in Playa del Carmen and then sail the short distance across to Cozumel the same morning. I'm assuming this was for a number of excursions on the mainland and then passengers would be brought back to Cozumel to board later in the day. Does anyone remember this happening? If so, any idea when it stopped?
  5. We're booked September this year and May 2021. We'll go so long as RC don't cancel us. We planned on doing plenty of travelling over the next 2-3 years and this hasn't put us off.
  6. We're booked for Serenade to Hawaii this September - just got to wait and see. If its possible we'll definitely go.
  7. We saw the itinerary and just had to book this one 🙂
  8. We did this in September. The night before disembarking the Empress we received a letter from Guest Services asking us to meet in the Schooner Bar at a certain time and RC shuttled us from one terminal to the other. As stated above, it is slightly chaotic once you're outside the terminal building but the port staff were very helpful.
  9. My only former ship is the Song of America at the time she was sailing as the Thomson Destiny. Loved the old Viking Crown Lounge. Sailed the Empress and Majesty and very pleased they're not yet former ships.
  10. It was the member of cruise director staff who was the 'escape room host'.
  11. We were told that 8 is the ideal number for Escape the Rubicon. Apparently the hardest in the fleet but excellent fun!
