It was!

Our previous cruise was at the end of 2017. The only issue we are running into is that all of our TA's rates include wifi and drinks, which we really don't need for a short cruise (4 nights) that we are looking at booking in addition to a much longer cruise just booked with the included perks. So likely back to a refundable deposit on that one. I had forgotten that one of the Captains Club perks is some wifi. I wonder how difficult to log in and whether it is the standard wifi.

The best scenario with this new non-refundable deposit (I'm not sure how new as we wee in a cruise in May after not cruising since before the covid shutdown, is if you have a travel agent with a group booking. They are always refundable.

Do Concierge Level rooms have access to...
Jade13 replied to mholder371's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We got both on a recent cruise, a bottle of wine plus a daily cheese platter with fruit. -
Was the Bazaar on Celebrity XCEL a Webinar with Andrea Shay, which also had the QR code at the end to sign up for Dream Makers? I have a pic of a page that say "Thank you Celebrity Cruises" but it doesn't say which webinar". What do they need to award points?

Who do we contact (is there an email address) if we are missing PUP points?
-
Ok I believe. Just remember the Baked Alaska Parades on HAL. I also recall when the dessert extravaganza was in the afternoon in the MDR one Celebrity, and I also recall hearing it was stopped due to a sanitation issue.

What year was this?
-
Are you sure that wasn't HAL?

I am not surprised. I was on the recent Presidents Cruise, and although not about Power Up Points there was a question and answer session. One person was very outspoken and upset about the changes in the Blue Chip program, which I take was watered down recently. The answer was that they weren't making money on the previous program. Too many people taking free cruises and I guess not gambling enough. Someone else asked about a tier level between Elite + and Zenith, plus ways to get to Zenith faster and it was made very clear they don't want that and want to keep the top tier small and exclusive. I still don't understand why a cruise line would have a program that would expire after a few years of not cruising. We didn't cruise for years, also during covid, and would have been an incentive to go elsewhere if we suddenly lost status we had from 100's of days at sea. As far as the top tier, many people who have that many days cruising are getting older and will eventually stop traveling, making room for others.

Olden is stunning. We were on the Apex Presidents Cruise two weeks ago.

Thank you for posting this. So they are converting 70 cabins to AQ? How does this make dining in BLU intimate or inviting? Are they adding 70 tables in BLU? We were just on APEX and for the first time ate in the MDR each night which was similar to the smaller BLU venue with the smaller dining rooms - and without paying the premium for AQ (we don't use the Spa). But we were planning on going back to AQU in subsequent cruises on the older ships. Now I'm not so sure.

I am trying to find out when Infinity last went into dry dock as we are considering a cruise on her next year due to the itinerary. We have been on Summit and Millennium, but they were 7 and 10 years ago,

There was a large long table on Apex in Tuscan that was empty every night (at least earlier in the evening) all last week. I would have to try to recall how many seats.

Onboard Booking Program - Can you book for people not on board?
Jade13 replied to JoePDX's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We booked a couple of future cruises while onboard last week, both refundable. We know if we change them to our travel agents group bookings we have to pay the full deposit, so that negates the $100 pp deposits. The question has to do with whether anyone knows which OBC you can keep from Celebrity if you change the cruise dates and itinerary? If we switch from a repositioning cruise to something else, would we get the higher OBC amount we would have gotten if we booked that cruise while on-board? We also got extra OBC on one cruise as it was a "Thursday special" that was not available the next day when we came back and booked another cruise. There were also offers for using a Celebrity Visa card - which they said was only being offered on the Presidents Cruise, but we don't know if that is true or not. Obviously if my TA goes to change either of these we will find out, but I wanted to know what others have experienced. -
Are they expecting everything to be open on this pre-inaugural?

New England/Canada Cruises - Your Experiences and Thoughts
Jade13 replied to JDPCruisers's topic in Celebrity Cruises
What happened to the one way 7 Night or so itineraries? Didn't Celebrity used to go from Quebec to Boston or Boston to Quebec? We were looking for this itinerary and realized nothing existed. Were did HAL more than once from Montreal (we realize the Celebrity ships are too large to fit under the bridge) to Boston years ago and loved it. But were looking for Celebrity as we think the demographics are a better fit. -
is there a PUP activity for Mid May or "June"? You seem to be getting the emails.
-
-
On No. What is this? And where do we find it? We just got off a cruise and saw nothing about getting extra loyalty points.
-
I am hoping someone can assist me as we are late to the party. I guess we have missed 5 years of these PUP. The one we did recently allowed us to watch a video and I could log into my husbands CC account. This last one with the Dream Makers is more confusing. Do you just have to do the one vote to get the points, or all of the activities? We don't use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. And do you have until April 14 to vote or is that when the points or awarded? 20 PUP's equal how many Captains Club Points? ____ "Flex your creativity and vote today on Celebrity Xcel Dream Makers—and earn 20 Power Up Points. In this week’s poll, help choose the name of an amazing new cocktail you’ll find only at our Aqua Festival in The Bazaar. Each week, you’ll have the chance to vote on exciting new experiences and earn even more chances to win incredible prizes, including a spot on the President’s Cruise in May or the Grand Prize—a stateroom on the Celebrity Xcel Naming Sailing in November. ALREADY VOTED? THE POINTS ARE STILL YOURS. To qualify, the email address used to register for Dream Makers must match the email address associated with the member's Captain's Club account." Power Up Points will be awarded to those who qualify by April 14, 2025.

New to Celebrity but not to Cruising...Best Apex Tips Please
Jade13 replied to pooksma's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I'm reading about Celebrity overbooking onboard activities and excursions - and than canceling people. Is this something new? This is a good way to alienate customers who may have been looking forward to a specific shore excursion, prefer not to do private excursions, and suddenly have no plans in a foreign country/port. -
Out of the 4 MDR's on Apex, which seem to be the most popular in order and why? More comfortable seats or views (when its still light out)?
-
Is there a mini fridge in the concierge class cabins? What about Edge class and Apex?
-
We will be on Apex in May and have 6:00pm fix dining.
