    Welcome.

Pro-tip:    Click on the offer you are looking at on NCL.com.   On the next page, scroll down to the bottom, click on Terms and Conditions.   You will find out everything you need to know about each thing being offered.

Thank you. I read through everything and I chatted with an NCL agent. The airfare seems to be a steal which makes me super curious..

  2. We're currently booked on the 9 night Greek Isles Cruise on the Disney Magic in June of 2022. Prior to Disney releasing their COVID restrictions, I was already looking at a similar sailing with NCL. (10 night Greek Isles). The price is much better, it has an extra day, and there are a lot of current add ons. Now that DCL has posted their restrictions (they're not requiring COVID vaccinations- our whole party is vaccinated), I'm looking even harder at NCL. I don't want to wear masks indoors, have to make appointments for the pool etc. (And I'm an ER nurse, I know things can change, but I'd like to be on an open ship that's vaccinated than a restricted ship because they aren't required). I'd like to add that we're a group of adults 50s and 60s but active, we travel often. My oldest daughter will be joining us along with my granddaughter (as long as vaccines are approved for her age group before sailing, she'll be vaccinated).

The thing is I know NOTHING about NCL. I know that the Escape is new and huge. It seems to have some fun things to do onboard, but we'll be busy off the ship. The "deal" NCL is currently offering includes free specialty dining. Is that for a certain number of nights, or can we eat in specialty restaurants every night? I'm a pretty basic drinker (and a light drinker at that) but will there be any surprises to the "free beverage" package?

And finally, I'd love some advice on the rooms. I've done everything from a window room on DCL to their club level. I'd probably do a balcony on this trip. I considered a spa balcony but don't know that we'd use it enough with this itinerary. I'd love any tips. Also, (last question for now) do they offer single rooms on the escape? One of our party. is currently paying double occupancy on the Magic and that would be a huge cost saver.

    Thanks!

  3. I'll be in Saint John in late September and want to book a whale watch tour for the day. I can book through the cruise line, but would rather book privately if possible. It looks like it's a 75 min ride from the port to the actual site to catch the boats. Does anyone know of a good whale watch company that will get us at the port and provide the whole experience? Thanks in advance!

  4. As others have said, you could have 40's and rain, or nice 60's as many of us have reported. Be prepared for the worst and hope for the best. Cold or not, this is a fantastic trip. And let me emphasize again - a balcony is a MUST for this trip - and the 9x9 Caribe that is half covered is wonderful. You always have the option to go up top, but to have your own view is priceless.

Absolutely. I paid a small fortune for our balcony in Norway (DCL's first cruise in Norway) but it was worth every penny. I would not do a cruise like that without a balcony.

  5. I'm from Charleston, SC. So it was 92 and muggy today before the rains started. I know I'll be cold. Norway was cold and it was my favorite trip to date. I just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be big problems with Alaska in May.

  6. I'm booked up until then..We're doing our first Princess cruise in August in the British Isles. In 2018 we'll be in St John for two weeks. 2019 will be a week on St John and something else. I'm considering an Alaska cruise in May. Will it be too cold or are there any problems sailing in May I should be aware of?

  7. We were there in late June and had better than average weather. Alesund was cold, but the rest of our stops were 60's with little rain and it was beautiful. We pre cruised in Copenhagen and it was chilly and rained there most of the time we were in the city.

  8. We did a RHIB in Alesund and LOVED it. It was cold but amazing. We saw seals, puffins and thousands of sea birds!

My #1 regret of the trip was Bergen. We did an all day excursion and I wish we'd just walked around the city. What I saw of it was beautiful.

  9. I'm taking my first Princess cruise this August. I'm platinum on DCL (mostly CL). Our kids are grown but DH and I still love DCL. (Not the characters but the service and experience).

One thing I'll mention is though I've sailed CL on multiple DCL cruises (and they can be silly expensive) it doesn't appear to be as appealing to sail with CL. There seem to be fewer perks (including shoreside and a lounge).

I'm really looking forward to my Princess cruise though.

  10. Don't know if you booked the cruise with Princess directly or with a TA, but I would think that they would have disclosed this to you at the time the change was made?

Good luck. We are planning to do a BI cruise in 2018 and the prices have a LONG way to go to get to what we hope they will be!

Right? I remember watching prices last summer (as we booked in April) and they are MUCH lower than they are now.

  11. I recently downgraded my room for our 12 night BI cruise from a balcony to an OV. Quite frankly, for as busy as we'll be and as expensive as this trip will end up being, I didn't feel like I need the balcony more than the $1000+ pp savings.

I booked the cruise last April and have the promo that was available before the Anniversary sale with SBC ( less than the anniversary sale) and free gratuities.

Since I changed rooms during the anniversary sale, did I lose the last promo?

  12.

    Thanks so much for this!

I had a really hard time finding a room with minor obstruction...they were all being held by a group. But found what I'd consider two "decent" views side by side. So I got lucky.

They say they sleep two so I'm hoping for a window I can look out of.

    They're on the Emerald deck.

    I saved $1000 per person.

    So, I'd say, I'm happy!

  13. Thanks!

Are there any differences between the outside rooms actual windows? Are all the windows small and above the bed unlike the Disney large wall picture window?

I'm a little nervous about booking an outside but I just don't think we'll justify the price for it. If we were doing Norway again or Iceland etc, I'd do a balcony but for the BI, I don't think I need it.

  14. I'm currently booked in a balcony for a 12 night BI cruise on the Caribbean Princess in 2017.

We have a large group booked and airfare is purchased so it's happening.

However, I am considering moving from the balcony to an outside room. I know we will have very few chances to sit out on a balcony because we only have one sea day and a very busy schedule. Savings moving from the balcony to the outside are at close to $1000 per person.

So, I've been on a ton of cruises but never Princess.

I've been in an outside room on Disney that had a HUGE porthole, like sliding glass door size. Princess doesn't appear to have that. But, I've found a lot of stock photos online so don't know what's really available.

Are there any "good" balcony rooms? Ones I should specifically look for? I know some are obstructed by lifeboats so I've been looking at deck plans and trying to get an idea where to stay.

Any advice from a Princess pro would be very appreciated.

    Thanks!
