Bali Elephant Encounter

Thanks for your recommendation, Barbara. :D

    Bali Elephant Encounter

We'd like to feed and interact with the elephants, but not ride one. Having researched the possibilities in Bali, I find two possibilities there: Bali Safari and Marine Park and Taro Elephant Safari Park (formerly Jalan Elephant Safari Park?). We'll also be in Semarang, any suggestion for elephant encounters there? Do you have any experience with these and would you recommend one over the other? Is there yet another venue featuring elephants I should be looking into? Thank you for your help.

    Zhujiajiao Watertown

Hi fellow cruisers. We're going to be in Shanghai for 2 days, a Sunday and Monday. Would you recommend that we go to Zhujiajiao one of those days over the other. We'd rather go on Sunday, but are concerned that many places will be closed or terribly overcrowded. Also, will the silk factories be open on a Sunday? Thank you in advance.

Naha, Okinawa former Japanese Navy's Headquarters

Thank you both for the valuable information. After reading your posts and watching the videos, I'm totally up for this!
  5. I'm interested in visiting this site, but have a question about the steps. I realize there are 100 steps to get into the tunnel, but am wondering if that's 100 steps down and 100 steps back up? Is there an alternate to taking the steps up, like a ramp? I'm somewhat fit, but I don't know if I'm able to push it that far. ;p

San Pedro flight out of Orange County

Thanks, everyone. We've decided to go with the later flight out of SNA. The extra hour will give us breathing room and, more importantly, at our age we aren't in a position to pull an "OJ" running through the airport to catch a flight. Happy sailing to all of you.
  7. I think I know what the answer will be, but I have to try. We're sailing on the Amsterdam, with disembarkation in San Pedro on December 21, 2018, one of the busiest days of the year for travel. We'd like to take an 11:30 a.m. flight out of Orange County. Is this possible? Would you recommend a 12.40 flight instead? I realize we must be first off the ship and carry our own luggage. Thank you for your opinions and expertise.

Does anyone know how much vodka Princess puts into their 007 Martinis? Two jiggers? One and a half jiggers?

Thanks so much. GO HAWKS! :D

    Super Bowl 2016

Does anyone know how the Super Bowl is handled on the Ocean/Pacific Princess? Since there isn't a MUTS will they have video in the theater or Tahitian Lounge? If nothing else, will it be televised in our cabins?

Best way to bring wine onboard

I'm curious to know if there's any leniency in the rules if you're on a longer (say, 30 day) cruise. Also, are the Ocean Princess and Pacific Princess as strict as the larger ships? Seems to me that the smaller ships often have the longer itineraries. What happens on a B2B?

Concerned - cruise ship emissions - Alarming
Al Gore has just invested in a company that produces long electrical extension cords that now can be used to power cruise ships. Move over Chevy Volt the " Electricution of the Seas" is ready to sail.;):D
Good one! Thanks for giving me my morning chuckle. :D

    best length of cruise?

105 days, Hawaii to Dover, via French Polynesia, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and around Africa. (b2b2b2b2b). There were 44 new and wondrous ports to experience. We would have started the whole thing over the next day if time and money had allowed it. For us it's about the itinerary, with a healthy dose of sea days. :D Time to start saving for the next one!

    Buying alcohol in Honolulu

Then, I can assume there is no duty free at the pier?
