  1. Can anyone suggest a good restaurant to eat lunch at Maho Beach in St. Maarten. I also posted this on the St. Maarten forum, but thought I would also get good results by posting it here since we will be on the Symphony in February which includes St. Maarten. Thanks everyone who replies.
  2. Any suggestion for the best place to eat lunch at Maho Beach?
  3. You all convinced me/us to take a different flight. We prefer non-stop because I have knee problems and want to eliminate as much walking/changing flights as possible. We found another non-stop from FLL to PIT that works for us.
  4. We are sailing on the Symphony in February 2020 out of Miami. If we do a self-assist disembark (out of Miami), would we be able to catch a 10:10 a.m. flight out of Fort Lauderdale or would that be cutting it too close. Thanks in advance for all your opinions.
  5. Such a nice-looking couple! Enjoying your review. We are sailing on Symphony in February 2020 also in a junior suite. First time on Royal Caribbean for us. Hope we won't be disappointed.
  6. Also my suggestion. Cabin/balcony area are larger and has a tub. We are booked on Symphony and have a junior suite in the "hump" area on deck 8. Very close to dining venues and same deck as Central Park.
  7. Sailing on Symphony next February. Same situation. Daughter drinks, I don't. Called Royal today and daughter bought the Deluxe Beverage Package for $57/day, plus tax and tip. I was able to buy the Refreshment Package for $28/day, plus tax and tip. My refreshment package includes: - Fountain soda and refills - Coca Cola beverages - Coca Cola souvenir cup - Mocktails (non-alcoholic beverages like a cocktail) - Bottled water/sparkling water - Premium coffee/tea - Fresh squeezed juices These packages are also good at Coco Cay. Will keep watching for price drop, then will cancel and rebook. We were also able to use our $100 onboard credit toward our purchase.
  8. Thank you for your prompt reply. Will call RCI tomorrow about this.
  9. I realize that to get the drink package, both people who share a cabin must purchase the Deluxe Drink Package, however, I don't drink, but my daughter does. I thought I read in one of the posts that one person could buy the Deluxe Drink Package as long as the second person bought the beverage package (or would it be better to call RCI and ask). Our first cruise on Royal so I don't know if they bend the rules..
  10. We were in a mini-suite w/large balcony on deck 8 on the Escape and loved it. No problem with noise. So close to restaurants/O'Sheehans and theater. Wouldn't hesitate to book it again.
  11. Ditto on using a good local travel agent. That's what we do when booking a cruise to get the best results.
  12. I'm assuming the person at Royal Caribbean who made this mistake is no longer working for Royal Caribbean!😀
  13. Buy a Mandara Spa pass if I didn't already have one.
  14. We also use SAS Transportation from FLL to Miami and never had any problems.
  15. I was also going to suggest NCL Escape to Bermuda out of NYC. Did this in 2018 and liked it so much we did it again this year in May. The Escape is a beautiful ship, plus great food and entertainment. You will love three days in Bermuda. We live in western Pennsylvania and it was an easy drive for us. Check it out.
  16. Just got off the Escape and ate at Bayamo. Had the halibut and loved it! This was our third time on the Escape. Love the ship. Great crew and entertainment. Enjoy!
  17. Just got off the Escape this past Sunday and ate at all three of these restaurants. Had halibut at Bayamo, small filet at Cagney's and veal entre at LaCucina. All the meals were great. No complaints. We also ate at Teppanyaki, the Japanese hibachi restaurant. Food there was great also and our chef was very entertaining. Side note: Don't miss the show Choir of Man. One of the best shows we have seen on a cruise. As soon as you board the Escape, go to the box office on deck 7 (forward) and book all of your shows because they fill up fast. Enjoy your cruise. You will love the Escape!
  18. I'll be 78 in a few weeks and booked parasailing on our next cruise. Apparently they don't consider parasailing as dangerous as snorkeling.😊
  19. One advantage with a mini-suite is the larger bathroom. We always book a mini-suite for this reason. Some people say having a larger bathroom doesn't matter to them, but we enjoy the larger shower area.
  20. Thank you so much for posting the dailies! We are sailing May 26 to Bermuda. This helps us plan our evening activities around our dinner schedule.
  21. I always buy the spa pass because the pool with all the different features is very therapeutic for my joint pain. I'm not a pool person, so it's much less crowded and more relaxing. The heated tile loungers are the icing on the cake.
  22. During our Panama Canal cruise on the Pearl, I took advantage of my spa pass and sat on a lounger in the spa during the canal transit and had a bird's eye view of everything. There was only one other person in the spa with me. I was surprised that more people didn't think to do this.
  23. Also look on the Bermuda forum for suggestions.
