  1. yet another variation on the would you attempt an 11 am flight out of MCO after self disembarking SWA changed our flight time home after early Dec sailing 🤬 Moved up, now, 11:05 am Utopia docks @ 6:30 am. Being early on, no reports on how the disembark process has fared on this ship did Allure @ PC twice in last 7 months. Amazes me how quickly they are able to process so many people! So, barring remote, unforeseen issues that may arise; that would prevent the ship from being cleared promptly... could I assume self disembarkation would start @ 6:45 -7 am or would we be talking more like 7:30 am? factoring into this 'gamble' we would have in hand: -rental car in pkg garage -US passports -TSA pre check -boarding assignment/passes assigned T -24 hr -MCO again has efficient curbside luggage check for SWA -Would have Ability to modify flight same day without extra charge to an evening flight if necessary yes, I fully admit, am generally in the camp of not rushing off cruise ship. Do accept the potential for traffic delays etc. to throw a wrench in plans
  2. do you recall the Earliest self disembark time? scheduled to dock 6:30 pm
  3. Can't imagine many being able to sit upright, leaning against wall & being able to plant feet on floor. no idea if they might have some sort of long bolster to augment that if only 2 pp in cabin Since I was assured it would be a fold out chair, going with it will likely be difficult to get a straight answer until they update deck plans/complete next dry dock
  4. Wanted to close this out The Allure GTY connecting cabin assigned 11696 did sleep 3 pp, despite indicated as 2 on their website I was told by RCCL before sailing that 3rd berth would be a sofa "chair" it was a firm, upholstered banquet seating sort of thing. no arms or back. Looked newish, a bit narrower than a twin bed. GD proclaimed it the most comfortable she had so far in her cruising adventures. Was made up every night. Had her take a pic for me, just got it from her. Haha appears she focused more on a concert souvenir bag (sorry) but, you can see portion of it on right side of pic
  5. We were a bit hampered as not being officially assigned until last week Annoyingly, told if we had a cabin assigned would probably have been able to switch to a higher category with 4 berths we rolled the dice for the first time, GD was good with a sofa bed. The last one she had on Indy looked more to be a love bed size, thinking it may have been considered a chair as cabin max was 3 pp granted, mattress awfully thin & uncomfy to point where she (short & light enough) angled & slept sideways to avoid the bars. to her credit not a single complaint about it! In that vein, there will be none from us either…as long as there is some sort of berth for her a Q tho, never requested one in the past, are mattress egg shell requests an option? If not might bring a blow up Pool sort of air mattress along to see if it helps
  6. For our cabin on allure next week (see above linked thread), Rccl insists our balcony stated for 2 pp has a sleeper chair It only sleeps one person.
  7. Thanks again for the helpful comments. Much appreciated!
  8. Getting back to me (original post) Allure: booked for 3 people, CB balcony, have seen via apple hack assignment for cabin for 2 Overnight, received new cruise docs/luggage tags for the same cabin the trick showed. 11696 stated for 2 pp occupancy. It appeared to have 2 twins & sofa not a sofa bed called in, they insist it has a single sleeper chair, not a sofa & “cabin will comfortably sleep 3 people”. Not sitting right with me TBH. I mentioned that i had concerns re lifeboat occupancy/being turned away at the pier. Told, that would never happen. I’ve read a few horror stories of oversold cruises if there is a sleeper chair, fine. Maybe they are hauling out the sofa and bringing in a chair for the sailing??? Just wanted to close out the drama
  9. alcohol sales often are make or break as to a sailing being profitable for whatever cruise line I don’t see any of the lines turning away parents as paying customers, even if they have their kiddos in tow with them. I can also see bartenders reasonably asking any person not actively drinking ‘something’, whether on a prepaid drink package or OOP, to vacate a bar stool for a paying customer Aside from whatever state liquor laws in play, in the US private businesses can refuse service to anyone, at anytime and for any reason EXCEPT for those things that are protected classes: gender, religion, race & sexual orientation no idea how that applies under drink packages on cruises, is being over-served even in their lexicon?
  10. Have you considered royal up bid? if not, perhaps you will actually see the cabin number populate on your docs soon and could call in and try to switch to another cabin in the same category. Probably no consolation to you, it could (possibly) be worse. Via bar code trick, 18 days out, we are still assigned the balcony for 2 pp, vs the 3 we need. Pretty sure it will be a hard sell to get my mr to agree to book a GTY cabin again
  11. I am glad they do offer some adult only venues. Solarium comes to mind aah. Won’t be lounging there on upcoming trip tho Since the rising tide is so, well, visible to all ages in the area; my thots it would welcome teens to sit (quietly) with parental units for a quick drink. If we are informed it’s a no go, then we will surely abide. perhaps a trade off to allow family cocktail hour there before first MDR seating would be an option? Know many restaurant/bars in touristy areas that have that sort of kid curfew
  12. I get your sentiment. Moonlighted in the industry back in the day. However, we did buy her a “drink package”. The Mr. & I both have the same one on our accounts. prefer to pay as we go/add a shot when it comes alcohol as neither can do justice to the # of drinks on the deluxe pkg.
  13. My DSs were never a fan of the clubs, even the DCL ones. I gave up. They are far apart in age, always in different categories/age groups. Do Think they’d like it more if they had a friend along or cousin etc. never worked out tho tried with GD when a few years old, another resounding no thank you she would live on wave rider if they let her lol has fun hanging with the sporty crowd to do BB, water slides etc during the day. She’s a competitive athlete like my DSs were. Track, cheer, gymnastics, volleyball & BB, so she’s used to being active & trains year round will have me up on deck early every am so she can get at least 5 miles in on track lol a gym rat, enjoyed the one on the Indy. They had no issue with her using equipment after she showed she knew her stuff, as long as I was in general area. that’s the great thing about cruising, something for everyone!
  14. Did do a search, nothing popped up. Can’t find info on the policy re minors on the rising tide We’ve cruised on the allure before. the Mr enjoys a pre dinner drink at rising tide at least once a cruise this go round have our young teen GD with us. we aren’t the sorts to drag a kid to bar in the real world. Cruising a different environment, lots of flowing alcohol throughout the ship. Was thinking to go early & grab non-bar seats & have a quick one. She can use her refreshment pkg while instagraming away. note no (grand) parenting advice needed. I’m old school, don’t let her out of my sight on cruises. Will just skip it if it’s a no-no.
  15. Update: still the same cabin showing up in the apple wallet trick that only sleeps 2 vs 3 pp we need Received another email as to boarding docs with additional info on the invoice that I’m going to take as progress it references both “a sofa couch bed”, which I’m taking as a pull out sofa bed. Not sure what “Balc Suite NRD” means, in section under Cruise Fare???
  16. Likely, the best option. Set it and forget it. If she forgot to sign into pkg and started posting videos, wouldn’t go over well with her parents once that cell phone bill came due.
  17. Typically, I only purchase the WiFi okg for myself. DH will just log on my phone if he wants to poke on internet GD along on next cruise, is all about posting on TikTok and the ‘gram. Lobbying for a package she can use too. Can I just select one person plan but, two devices? Only $30 more than base charge A friend insists she just ‘signs out’ and her grand kids can log in on their phones, using the same pkg. Then rinse & repeat ??? Seems like too much effort
  18. In November the comedy club really had a long line form early. Even if you are unable to get a reservation to the shows you want, suggest standby. They will open the empty seats up. Seemed as though more than a few people didn’t keep their reservations. i’m not a big Mama Mia fan. To my great surprise thought the show was the best i’ve seen on RCCL, beating Grease on the Adventure for me.
  19. Oh, I’ll be back 🙂with good news! Maybe we’ll get assigned an empty suite, hahaha Never had a whiff of any issues with RCCL in the past. Has become our cruise line of choice. It’s just turning into such a strange booking this go-round. This is not the first hiccup on RCCL’s end for this sailing. Wound up being charged for this cruise twice. Had paid it off in full long ago. When i called in and upgraded to a GTY balcony a month or so ago, the fun began. They charged me twice for the cruise. RCCL did finally return the erroneous charge in just under a month. Upon me originally questioning them after catching the charge on my card, they did quickly check it out and agreed they made a mistake. Explanation was the overcharge was a clerical sort of error due to how the agent processed the upgrade. When i called back a bit later, questioning why the cabin appeared to show the incorrect occupancy, was told the error had nothing to do with this issue. I took the high road & their word on that.
  20. Didn’t realize, that confirms what the CM said. Realize a cruise ship registered in Nassau (i believe) is different from a hotel (where they often have to confirm to max occupancy/fire codes). Still, would think they would adhere to overall cabin occupancy. Growth spurt time, all legs, at least 64 inches. TBH Doesn’t seem as tho they would be keeping their end of the bargain if they’d expect her to conform to a love seat. She’s slept on full size couches and pull out sorts over the years. Oddly, she did get excited by an upper berth one trip. File it under something new I suppose. I’d like to think it will work out, we won’t be turned away at the pier & we will either get some sort of balcony with three berths or will squish into one with two and laugh about it down the road. Thanks for your help!
  21. Sure: 11696 I did manage to have one rep who (theoretically) checked the cabin # & said max 2 occupancy. Unfortunately, Couldn’t verify it had a sofa, said some have a chair instead ???
  22. That’s exactly what I’m being told when I call to question them. RCCL won’t even acknowledge that when I save it to my wallet an actual cabin #/ assignment for 2 pp (Vs the 3 I paid for) still shows up. here’s what I see in app. Didn’t include bar code attached for obvious reasons I’ve tried two different bar code scanners & assigning it to Apple wallet directly When booking this, our 1st GTY, understood the possibility of not knowing our assignment up until we showed up at the pier its seeing a cabin # in the Apple wallet bar code that only sleeps 2 pp that’s has me on edge as we have our teen GD as 3rd person. Half in jest, starting to think I should pack a blow up air mattress did have one rccl rep indicate, I’d like to think jokingly, that the beds pushed together would accommodate 3 pp
  23. 29 days out, still assigned in cabin for 2 not 3 ppl according to bar code Rccl did indicate, at worst case, they will find something to sleep all 3 of us at pier “no worries”🫣 Today got cruise doc email, luggage tags do not show the ‘wrong’ cabin assignment I’m seeing associated to barcode should I even bother printing them out if they don’t populate before the cruise?
  24. As the assignment still reflects the cabin for 2 pp vs 3 I booked… and I didn’t receive the email from RCCL as agent promised after I alerted them of the discrepancy … do I chill and assume RCCL Will put us in a proper OV balcony, or do I keep calling back (as in once a week? Sailing on 6/28)
