  1. Our itinerary was Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas and Half Moon Cay. Yes, we made all the ports. We only tendered at HMC. Easy access at all ports. Both pools were functioning and enjoyable. We gravitated to the aft pool. Great mellow music playing and awesome breeze. The entertainment was different. I'm used to Royal's great stage productions. HAL is more classical than flashy. There was a magician, gymnast, comedian (super funny and entertaining), a BBC Planet Earth show with small orchestra (very good), and then two other music oriented shows (didn't really care for those). The Lincoln Center Stage had music recitals by guest musicians. You had to be really quiet in the hallway at that time. The dueling pianos in Billboard Onboard was entertaining and we always participated in the Trivia games! We always found something fun to do or see. Feel free to ask any other questions.
  2. Yes there were laundry options. There is a blue cloth laundry bag with price sheet hanging in the closet in your cabin to utilize. Sorry, didn't use the service so I'm not aware of the prices.
  3. It was about a 25 minute ride via open air bus to the small marina. Definitely did not leave from Red Hook landing. Hope this information is helpful. Note: when you arrive at Honeymoon beach, you can either jump in and swim/snorkel or ride their small motorized dingy to the beach. Either way, you're getting wet. Don't forget to bring your beach towel from your room with you.
  4. A tapa is a small appetizer or snack (smaller portion). Check them out by the beverages in the lido market.
  5. Also, its unsweetened. This southern girl is not a fan, but, when thirsty, it works!
  6. Another note, the Lido Market was spectacular. No real self service. Always a server to assist you with items. I believe this is a sanitary procedure which I really like. Also in the center section where the beverages are, they always had a selection of small tapas. Nice option.
  7. Good evening, It’s been a long drive home to SC so I promise to write a review tomorrow. To answer the questions above and as a disclaimer, these are my personal opinions. The service was outstanding. All the staff was friendly, polite and accommodating. As far as things to do on board, it was enough but not an overload. In comparison to Royal, it was quiet. No pushing of drink packages, bingo, pool games etc. More classic than flashy. Our group always found something to do! We learned a lot in the trivia games. We had late dining in the MDR. Great table mates and staff was friendly. Our TA gave us a dinner at Canaletto and Pinnacle Grill. Was not a fan of C but Pinnacle Grill was a-mazing. Omg, the food was outstanding and huge portions. Definitely take advantage of this gem. Had two Verandah cabins on deck 7 and passed the Neptune Lounge all the time. When I grow up I want to be able to afford a NS 🙂. I’m sure the lounge is used but didn’t see many pax using it. Maybe we walked by it at odd times. We did peek in on a suite and it looked very spacious. Still a life goal! I’m sure you will love it for your anniversary celebration! The ship is in good shape overall. Our tub and bathroom sink could have used replacing, but didn’t bother me. You can also tell that cleanliness is priority and that’s important to me. Public bathrooms were always spotless. Feel free to ask ask me anything else. I hope this info is helpful.
  8. Just took this excursion this past week. Do it! Awesome crew and well worth it. Honeymoon Beach is spectacular on St John. Be prepared to get wet so bathing suit is required.
  9. Anxiously awaiting Oosterdam arrival. Boarding today for 7 beautiful days!
  10. Yes you are! Congrats.....sailing on "O" 2/16 and counting the days. Would love to hear your feedback when you return. TIA, Beth
  11. Thank you Tapi for taking the time to read and reply to me regarding this excursion. We have booked it and we are a group of 4. It's probably been 50 years since I've been to San Juan so I'm excited to see the vibrant colors and culture again, and yes I was 10 years old when my family visited! Again, thank you for your insight!!! Happy cruising, Beth
