  2. Very likely due to the fact that they got hammered with their "plan" to return on August 1. Remember the "insightful mistake" drama with Arnold Donald? I'm sure they just don't want to rhetorically lock themselves into October 1.
  3. Yeah, he's a tough one to watch. Used to like Don's videos back in the day, but since the shutdown he's gone off the deep end. It's painful to watch. If you are a glutton for punishment, there are several 'rant' videos leading up to this one 😐. He doesn't have any inside knowledge, nor does he exercise any true curiosity about what's actually happening he's just reeeeally angry at the CDC. He's a lost travel agent that can't seem to adjust to reality. In a way I feel bad for him but he's not doing himself or his viewers any favors.
  4. I would disagree that Americans have always stepped up to the plate to do the right thing. The last time that really happened was WWII. What are some other critical periods in recent US history where that has taken place? Americans are a very independent lot (a good thing) but in the 'social media' environment of the last couple of decades in particular, Americans have become very self-involved and selfish (a very bad thing). I don't see people in my area making a united effort to comply with recommended behaviors in order to slow the spread of the virus. Just the opposite. And I believe
  5. I do think that the cancellation email takes priority, but obviously if you are unsure you should contact NCL and confirm. There's lots of cancellations happening right now and reminder emails on final payments are usually auto-generated so it's easy for them to cross in the mail.
  6. I think that the email you received on the final payment may be auto-generated. It sounds like you received the email on suspension and cancellation so that should take precedence. What was the date of the cancellation email?
  7. Booked on the 10/3 Royal cruise. Cancelled today. No way are we going to be guinea pigs for the first cruises out😬
  8. There's really nothing unusual about the wording. Carnival Cruise Lines is a member of CLIA and subject to the voluntary suspension, but they will be announcing their own cancellation plans in connection with it. It doesn't mean that they are going to act outside that voluntary suspension if that's what the implication is.

For your information, I have been cruising since 1997 and have sailed on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, Norwegian AND Carnival. I don't have to explain my participation on the boards to you or anyone else! Posts like this are what makes people uncomfortable posting here.
