Thanks for posting this, as some listings have changed.
One such change is on M013, an eastbound TA with a "London Theatre at Sea" theme. The last of the three Galas now is designated "Oliviers Ball." I know who Olivier is, and that the Olivier Awards are mentioned in the voyage promotion. But has anyone seen any hint of what an "Oliviers Ball" might entail, dress-wise?

How generous is the shareholder OBC?

The refund appeared as a credit on the card I used to pay for the fare.
If the credit card has no balance due, a cash refund can be requested.

I thought Enterprise's motto was "We'll pick you up" (and by extension drop you off at the other end).
Maybe it's just aspirational.

I recently very sweetly asked an airline "would it be better if I communicated with you via social media?" I had an email taking care of my problem when I awoke the following morning 🙂
Well played, clo. I love it.

Alexandria to Norfolk Va approxiately 141 miles in the same state compared to Alexandria Va to Brooklyn, NY approx. 240 miles and a number of states to travel.
I'm not sure where BlklynBoy got his mileage figures, but according to Google Maps, Norfolk Cruise Terminal is only 37 miles closer to Alexandria than is Brooklyn Cruise Terminal (197 vs. 234). And I'm not sure what the number of state lines crossed has to do with it. As I said before, Virginia is pretty big, and MD and DE are pretty small. Having traveled from Alexandria to both destinations both by car and by rail, I can attest that the elapsed time is about the same.
That said, there really doesn't seem to be a way to get from Northern VA to the Brooklyn pier that's both comfortable and affordable. We did the reverse trip in 2018 by Yellow taxi to NY Penn Station and then Amtrak to Alexandria. It was not fun, but OK. Later this Spring we'll be doing the same thing northbound. We'd welcome any new suggestions.

Too bad the QM2 couldn't sail out of Norfolk and your problems would be solved.
My fellow Alexandrian alex_drew was too polite to say it, but as an original BronxBoy I must respectfully inform BlkynBoy that Norfolk is almost as far from Alexandria as NYC is. Like the Empire State, the Old Dominion is pretty big.

The car service idea sounds good to me, but when I checked prices a couple of years ago (also from Northern VA) they were prohibitive. If you find one, I hope you'll post the name and quoted price.

Not to get technical, but a trademark cannot be registered "in gross" -- that is, standing alone. It can only be registered for a class of goods or services. The essential principle is that to oppose a registration, one must show that the mark would cause consumer confusion as to the origin or sponsorship of the product or service involved.
There are innumerable subtleties, but this is the crux of the matter, under US law at least. I doubt that the Queen Anne School could make out a case against the Good Ship Queen Anne.

For packing dress shirts (formal and business), I simply take them to our neighborhood dry-cleaning/laundry establishment and have each one washed with light starch, ironed, folded around a cardboard insert, and wrapped in a plastic sleeve. All this for only $2.50 per shirt. (Yes, I know, please don't reprimand me about the plastic.) (Or about the trees sacrificed to make the cardboard.)
Speaking of neighborhood dry-cleaning/laundry establishments, is this a US thing not found in the UK? On every visit to London I've tried to find one in central London (Trafalgar Square area/Mayfair) and found nothing. A Google search for "cleaners" or "cleaning services" yields office maintenance contractors only.

(3) Our last crossing was the December 15, 2018, westbound (perhaps you were on the same one?)
That is the one we were on. We thought we had a pretty good deal, but you obviously have mastered the system. We had booked and re-booked PG a couple of times, and when the PG price again went down, from $3,700 p/p to $3,400, we sought to rebook again. (All this was prior to the final payment date.) Cunard countered with an offer to upgrade us to Q5 if we stuck with the $3,700. We took it.
Our next crossing is in May 2020 eastbound, and we've booked PG1 for $3,921 through an online travel agent (which includes autograts, the drinks package, $200 OBC from Cunard, and $300 OBC from the agent). Again, this was booked well before final payment date for that voyage, and I don't think such extras are usually offered on late bookings.
If you subtract all those from the stated fare, it's not that far off the figure I found so astonishingly low. So maybe the real truth is that one way or another, Cunard gets what Cunard wants to get, and it's only what the customer gets that varies.

We generally book only when there is a good deal, with the prices we have paid ranging from US$290 to US$410 per night.
I have been following QM2 T/A pricing for almost two years now (and actually sailed in December 2018). Never have I seen PG offered for anything remotely like $290-$410 per person per night. That is a p/p fare of $2,870. Where, or better yet, when did you get such fares?

We now have a chance to upgrade to QG for an additional $570 p/p.
Cunard works in mysterious ways. Turns out we did not have that chance. Because our full fare has already been paid, Cunard's policy is to turn down my offer of an additional $1,140 unless I forfeited a 25% cancellation fee and re-booked from scratch.
I can understand not allowing paid-up pax to change to a newly reduced fare after final payment. I cannot understand refusing to accept such a passenger's offer to pay a higher fare, albeit for a different cabin, when its price has come down into the paid-up passenger's acceptable zone. The only explanation I can think of is so strategic and long-run-based that I cannot believe it's the real reason.

We've been in GQ (Q5) in QM2. Currently are booked fin PG on our next crossing. We now have a chance to upgrade to QG for an additional $570 p/p. After reading all the above, I find myself ambivalent if not confused. So my question is, do folks think it would be worth it? All opinions welcome.
What if the change also required giiving up a total of $200 OBC (for the cabin)? Same answer?

But you don't get the cruise.

Hello,
My travel consultant told me about Cunard’s shuttle to London. Has anyone ever used this shuttle? Is this the easiest, most convenient way to get to London?
I've been researching this for our eastbound T/A in May. The Cunard coach was a steal when it was $40 p/p, but at $70 not very attractive. Many operators will supply a private car and driver from the pier to anywhere in central London for £130-150. One major London minicab firm will do it for £111.
Personally, I would (and will) still use the Cunard coach pre-cruise from London to the Southampton pier if traveling on the same day as embarkation, to obviate concerns about road delays. Obviously this does not apply post-cruise.

Something to figure in is Cunard includes drinks and tips in the price of the grill rooms.
Depends on the fare you pay. Some low fares don't include these.

I have just gotten off the phone with Cunard (California office). After I unburdened myself to the agent who took the call, she responded, "Right." I asked what she meant by "Right." she replied that Cunard is aware of the problems, especially with VP/MyCunard, it is a "new website," and "they" (note, not "we") "are working to fix it." There was no apology.
But there was more. "Working on it" means they are "having meetings twice a week."
Heaven help them. Or us.
-
I'm also in the US, but I can log into the new MyCunard just fine. The problem is that once I'm logged in, various portions of the page are nonfunctioning. Info is "not available," nothing can be saved, and so forth.
Even with the material that can be displayed, some of it is erroneous. The "Shore Experiences" portion gives the wrong dates for an entire week's worth of excursions (possibly carried over from a counterpart voyage in a previous year). Other excursions are listed as "SOLD OUT" although it's still 127 days to sailing (posslble but unlikely).
The mind does boggle.

From the usual press photos of the Oscars, I wouldn't be caught dead dressing the way those who go to the Oscars do. Can't speak to the Baftas. Maybe something minimally theatrical, like adding my inherited white silk dress muffler to drape over my outdated tuxedo?
