  1. The Club Balcony on the Bliss only has 2 chairs and (very) small table. A third chair could possibly be added but I don't see how a 4th would fit comfortably if at all.
  2. If you're new to NCL & don't have a flight or NCL tour booked, you'll be one of the last off the ship. That said, if you're on a Boston/Bermuda/Bar Harbor cruise, you can expect to be off about 10:00 - 10:30 at the lates since customs is handled onboard in Bar Harbor.
  3. You can also see them on the NCL App. From the home page, click the 3 bars in the upper right and then go ti My Plans. Scroll down to activities and it will show if there are any booked items by day. Click on the day to see what you booked.
  4. Thank you both! I verified with scootaround that the scooter will fit though the door. There are a few accesible cabins available & I will be contacting CAS in the morning to see if they will move me to one. The ones I can identify are aft cabins which means a higher price. I've got my finger crossed that I can be moved at little or no additional cost.
  5. I recently completed the Special Needs Request form for an upcoming NCL cruise and have a couple of questions that I hope can be answered here. I was on Bliss in December and did not enjoy the ship as much as I should have because I couldn't physically handle a ship that size. Getting from one end to the other sometimes brought me to tears. I frequently ordered room service for breakfast (no charge in December but $4.95+ now) and meals @ The Local because the dining rooms were just too far away for me to deal with. I am planning to rent a scooter from Scootaround and am wondering if it fits through the balcony cabin door? If not, are there places on each deck for them to be stored when not in use? If it fits, how difficult is it to get in if you are alone? I am in a regular balcony cabin on the Joy. Will the scooter be available at the port (New York) or is it delivered to your cabin? Trying to figure out if I should be requesting wheelchair assistance for boarding & disembark. I wear hearing aids and requested assistance with phone, wake up calls & door knocks and am curious as to what they provide. Any & all information is greatly appreciated.
  6. I just paid $309 for a 12 day on Joy coming up in October. I just looked at my 15 day Bliss last December. Paid $289. It's small & convenient if you want sun & a comfortable lounger. Worth it to this solo cruisers. It's popular so they'll price it accordingly!
  7. I cruise solo & have booked family balcony cabins several times with no issues. sounds to me like you were dealing with rep who doesn't know their job!
  8. I'm sure the OP appreciates all the technical information received but it would be nice if people just answered the question. How it works and what it uses, or doesn't, really doesn't help anyone who doesn't understand the ins & outs cell phones. As I stated previously... I was able to communicate iPhone to iPhone via messages while onboard, in airplane mode, without using any of my FAS minutes. I could not send photos and could not contact an Android user.
  9. That's a shame. Have you tried ear buds molded for your ears rather than the standard type? When I got my first set, my audiologist made a mold for one ear but used the regular type for the other. The molded one was so comfortable, I never gave it a thought. The other, not so much so I requested a mold for that one as well. Sixteen years later, I'm wearing my 3rd set, and wear them all day, every day, without a thought. They're too damn expensive to sit on a bureau and truly make life better when you can hear everything that's going on around you!
  10. Of course I don't wear them 24/7! BUT... If they're not in my ears, it's because I'm sleeping, showering or swimming. No sense in spending all that money if I'm not going to wear them.
  11. Another vote for the Pearl here! It's a lovely ship with a great crew. Flying is such a hassle and if there are any delays reopening the Sumner Tunnel (scheduled to re-open 9/1), you may regret flying into Logan.
  12. As a hearing aid wearer myself, I have to ask.... How does someone lose hearing aids? Did they fall out of your ears while waiting to disembark?
  13. I paid for an upgrade from an OV to a BA for $12.35. I can be a bit over the top about some things & really wanted a balcony but cruising solo gets expensive. I did mock bookings multiple times a day. I was jumping for joy when I saw the price drop on balcony cabins. It was more than I had originally paid for my OV, booked after final payment, which is key. My family laughs about my price checking obsession but it has save me a lot of $$ over the years. Sometimes a price is reduced for only a matter of hours so checking often is well worth the time.
  14. Love the things I can learn here! I was able to send & receive iMessages with no problem throughout my Bliss cruise. Didn't try facebook messenger but I'll give that a shot at the end of the month when I head to Bermuda.
  15. You can text iPhone to iPhone while in airplane mode without using internet minutes. No photos, just text. It worked great this past December while on an LA to Miami cruise.
  16. I'm booked through CAS & had no trouble @ 125 days booking specialty dining for my upcoming cruise on the 28th or my October cruise.
  17. Thanks to both of you! I read somewhere that some of the Clubs still had tubs and was getting worried. I was going to call but the reps know a lot less than people here so I figured this was my best bet.
  18. I'm looking for recent information on this Club Balcony. Specifically, does it have the large shower?
  19. The lobster thermidor is my go to at Le Bistro & well worth the up charge. It's one of the many things I look forward to when I cruise. Go for it!
  20. OBC is used when you're On Board. Pretty sure it can't be used until then.
  21. So if I request my cabin be done when I know I'll be out of my cabin, like 10 - 2, how likely is it my request would be honored?
  22. I'm a solo cruiser and called CAS for the first time after my Panama Canal cruise last December. Got a 7 day Boston to Bermuda in a Club Balcony for less than 1K including the DSC, Called a week later & booked a 12 day transistion in a mid ship balcony (BA) on deck 10 for less than $1,250 including DSC. I had previosly booked, and cancelled, this same cruise in a BB for $5,146.46. Cabin was a BF on deck 9. DSC not included. Additionally, although I have not yet tried to do it, I was told I could add a 2nd person to my reservatons at the same price. July cruise will be solo. Not sure about October. If I add another person (working on it), I'll let you know if they do actually pay the same.
  23. Forgot about the wine! I'm not a wine drinker & gave it to my Cabin Steward. Loved the Club Balcony & am in one again next month. Hoping to upgrade from a balcony in October but that's still in the wait & see stage!
  24. The Club Balcony has a much larger bathroom with a great shower, 1 free bag of laundry & snacks delivered a couple of times during the cruise.
  25. Is there much if a loss using the statement credit versus OBC?
