  1. I have to tell you, the Breeze is my favorite CCL ship. I've been on her several times and am really excited that she's coming to Pt. Canaveral. I was just recently on the Miracle for the second time & had a very good time. In July I'll be on the Paradise for the 3rd time. It had been awhile since I had been on one of the smaller ships, and I was afraid that I wouldn't enjoy it that much, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think you will love the Breeze. It's a beautiful ship and I never found it to be overly crowded. You mentioned the Sunshine. I have to say that as far as crowds go, the Sunshine was the only ship that I felt was very overcrowded - particularly the Lido deck on sea days. At the same time, I really liked parts of the ship - the Havana Bar area for example. As you can see from my signature, I've been on quite a few CCL ships, and have enjoyed different things about each one. There are just some that I didn't like quite as much as others.
  2. When checking in, if the agent asks where the other party is, rather than making up some total bull about "she's parking the car" all you have to say is that you're not sure he/she is going to make it. No need for the person cruising to be stressing about what to say - the person checking you in shouldn't be all that interested and may not even ask. But, the OP shouldn't call to cancel - because they may very well make the other pay solo rate.
  3. Good to know - I'll call & take care of it. Thanks for the info.
  4. I don't understand why you can't use separate credit cards for CHEERS when you can use separate cards to pay for the cruise. I will be on the Paradise in July & am rooming with my adult daughter. We planned to purchase CHEERS, but I just assumed we could pay separately. She keeps saying she's going to get it for both of us because I'm treating her to the cruise, but I don't want her to do that. At least it's only a 4 day cruise, so one of us will have to pay & get the $$ from the other. Just seems strange that two people rooming together can't pay separately. I get that it's the whole everyone has to purchase, but why not allow 2 cards to be used as long as you're ordering it at the same time? I know if it weren't my daughter or other close family, I would not be comfortable paying on my card for someone else's CHEERS.
  5. Actually I have travelled extensively and have experienced 5 star accommodations, so I really don't need anyone to tell me that I don't know what expectations should be. And, for the record, anyone with money doesn't normally need to tell anyone they have money. Just thought I would share my definition of "class" since you think I need you to define "expectations." And now, I will leave you to "troll on" dude.
  6. Thanks for the advise - I'll have to look into MSC. In reference to me spending my entire cruise career at the bottom, I also worked onboard CCL ships long, long ago, so I guess I've been wallowing in the mud for many years. Now, may I ask you - as a seasoned traveler, why in the world would you spend your money to cruise on the Panorama if you think it's the bottom of the barrel?
  7. I believe this is what the OP is referring to: "I went on a Carnival cruise I had a good time with my family, but (pretty much everything about the ship sucked) and "I learned that everyone else is better." So, my question is, why do you come on CCL's board? I'm assuming that since everyone else is better you aren't planning on ever going on another CCL cruise - so, why the interest. My guess is that you are on here to warn other potential cruisers. From your post, I'm also assuming that you've gone on exactly ONE CCL cruise, so what would make you experienced enough to comment? I admit that I've only cruised with CCL, but they give me good rates and they meet my expectations. I'm open to cruising other lines, but just haven't been able to find anything close to the rates I get (admittedly, this is because I spend quite a bit of time in the casino). When, and if, I do cruise another line & if I'm not totally satisfied with the cruise - I promise I will not visit their board & tell others that "everyone else is better" just because I had ONE negative experience.
  8. I don't go to JH's facebook page, so I don't get my instructions from him. I have emailed the MaitreD several times when I have a particular request. I send it after the second day of the prior cruise when I know he/she will be working on table assignments. I only received one response, but have had the requests honored each time. I would think that if they didn't want emails, they would stop honoring email requests. Having worked onboard with MaitreD's, I know that the most frustrating part of their job is being "bombarded" with 30-40 people in line on day one making requests. I'm not sure how getting emails and being able to leisurely try to accommodate requests is worse than having people lined up in front of you & making requests on the spot. Also, if CCL doesn't want passengers to email MaitreD's, they should tell their MD's not to honor requests made through emails. How so many people on these boards know what CCL wants is beyond me. JH doesn't run the whole show. Anyway, each of us should do what we think we should do. Just because JH has "repeatedly" put on FB that requests should be made through him, I choose to make my own requests. And, until I'm told differently by the person who is actually involved, I'll continue to email MaitreD's when I have a specific request.
