Well I hope I get an upgrade then. I asked for a guarantee, but was assigned a cabin in the same category I booked. One of my perks was a location upgrade. I don’t think what I got was a location upgrade. They put me in E626 on the Discovery.

I always thought a guarantee meant you are guaranteed the cabin category you booked or possibly an upgrade. The princess rep told me Princess no longer upgrades from a guarantee. You stay in that category. That doesn’t make sense. If that were true then why bother with a guarantee. She said she just read that. I was calling because I wanted to put myself in a guarantee. So odd.

Are all dining rooms going to open up for the Summer Alaska cruises? I’m trying to book our party of 7. Plus they want to put us is Ketchikan and Skagway. I’d like to stick to the same dining room, but it does not give me that option. Thanks.

Yes only two dining rooms. We chose Skagway.

I noticed a few months ago Princess has this excursion. When I looked it was $249. Now it’s $279. Is that normal to jump that high? Also anyone have any information on this excursion. It sounds amazing, but so pricey.

I linked all of us on the Medallion. I was able to book dining reservations, but it only booked a few days. Plus it said we would be split into multiple tables. I don’t get that. I know there are large tables. I guess I’ll be heading to the dining room when I board. It’s the Discovery on June 19th.

I called my TA. She could not check a price for the second leg because carnival said they are not booking any inside or ocean views because they are almost fully sold out. I can check back when final payment is due and they will more than likely open up. However the price will more than likely be a lot more.

We booked the Maya for December 22nd this year. We are going on the Carnival Miracle back to back, 6 days then a 4 day. The parking rate is for 7 day. They were so nice and said we can keep our car for the extra 3 days at no extra charge. The rates are pretty good right now. We used the carnival rate. Thanks to the suggestions on this forum.

It has been 5 years since we have been on Carnival. We decided to take a family vacation with our two adult children. My daughter is a teacher. Her class starts back on Jan 3rd. We researched the best fit for us that would go over Christmas and New Years. The Miracle works perfectly since it would be a back to back. Plus we are from California and do not want to spend extra to fly. Our agent is working on the best deal for us. She gave me a quote for a quad balcony. Pretty good deal. I’m having her check an obstructed balcony as well. I know two cabins would be nice too, but that is $900 more even with putting my kids in an inside. I’m looking forward to our time as a family. Now I need to find dog sitter since my son are is my dog sitter. I know the Miracle has received poor reviews, but we sailed on her in 2014. Any cruise for us is a treat. We did Princess over New Year’s Eve last year and loved it. Does Carnival blow the foghorn as well at midnight? Thanks
