  1. With the limited seating vs the larger showrooms on other ships - I think this might be a fail. Making folks line up is nuts. Then again, Bingo is first come, first served as we found out last time we tried to play.
  2. i will also add that Viking Ocean is similar, but a bit more laid back and big older crowd.
  3. As a wino - the brand of wine seems to change is some restaurants and/or bars. But they still have the regular stuff.
  4. too bad you will not be spending a few days in Barcelona. Great city.
  5. To be fair - I would assume you also played with real cash as well. So - hard to say if they counted the play with sailer loot or not.
  6. Based on various promises, comments and lack of action, any guess will be FAR from EDUCATED. I forecast this thread will be full of what people think they should do and comparisons to other cruiselines.
  7. since you have a 2 week cruise - does not really matter what you book first as you will be hitting all of them, and more than once for most.
  8. That would be a very tight turn to go right. check this map view
  9. I am amazed at how complicated folks want to make this. 1 - Passport is not needed on closed loop cruises as per the U. S. Government. 2 - Virgin has been big on requiring it, but has loosed up a bit if you have govt ID and birth cert. 3 - If your ONLY id is going to be a passport, then the 6 month rule kicks in. 4 - What any other cruiseline says or does means close to nothing. 5 - Virgin has their requirements right on the website. 6 - And yes, there are good reason to take a passport, even if not required. And please not get into the argument about leaving it on the ship or taking it with you. That argument is as old as a few other things that will not be resolved in our lifetime.
  10. Yes, others still count. I had many "almost free" on NCL and reached Plat level. And they often had separate lines for casino checkin. They should at least allow us early boarding if you have status.
  11. Being a newbie, let me give you some good advice. Scroll down the page and read various posts. they will cover those questions and others you did not even think to ask.
  12. Another nice thing about Virgin... not once did I have to say no to a photographer. And the even better part? I do not have to dig out that big box of photos back when we would take lots of them - and never see them again. LOL!
  13. we have cruised with Virgin twice (2022 and 2023) and came home healthy. And we take very little precautions when traveling. (masks, avoiding people, concern with counters, etc)
  14. thank you for sharing. Informative and interesting. Hopefully your Dad was able to "witness" it from afar.
  15. There are many posts if you scroll down the page abouts passports. They also list the requuirements on the Virgin website.
  16. We gave GE but cruise ship return are quite different than airports. They often just look at our passport and we keep moving. Other times they scan it, but overall, not too bad.
  17. Just look for ground transportation signs. will not be hard to find. And do not rule out Uber as some shuttles take forever.
  18. 3pm flight? enter lounge at noon and drink till flight time.
  19. If the overall cost works, then do it. Not dealing with transfer from rental to ship and then ship to rental agency or shuttle makes it work, then do it. Not sure why others things this might be crazy. Math wins!
  20. Yes, it depends on where the hotel is, but cab or uber woudl be best. FYI - in the future, include more details in your subject line, like. Transfer from FLL to ___ hotel.
  21. Thanks for sharing folks. Was thinking it was Charters, but could not find them.
  22. She returns to San Juan on March 9th, but no cruise listed to leave there until the 23rd. Where is she? She does return to MIA arriving on March 31, but no cruise for another week? Can these just be sold out?
