Asking with trepidation, and not to hijack, but is there a good thread on tipping? Coco Cay cabana staff, drinks, additional cash tips, any and all times that tipping could be appropriate?

Is there a typical time for opening the doors, specifically at Port Canaveral? (I see that you're posting about Tampa, but wondering for us about our PC boarding).

Not until November, our check-in date is Sept 22. Good to know that you can do that at midnight, I'm assuming eastern time?

That makes sense. Do you have any thoughts on when we should get to port? I was thinking by 11, but now I'm seeing people getting onto the ship earlier, and like I mentioned, one of my cruisemates wants to optimize our ship time! Who doesn't, right? 😊

OK, reading this as a suite newbie, looks like we check in 45 days before our cruise and get a check-in time, but are eligible to board as soon as boarding starts because of our suite status? We're sailing Mariner of the Seas from Port Canaveral, and trying to figure out when/if to book a breakfast at Disney LOL. One of our group wants to board as early as possible, and I'm trying to avoid getting there too too early.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I'm going to run them by our group. And yes, we definitely need to return and stay - a port call is never long enough! Curious about Cozumel Bar Hop. I looked at their facebook page. Is this a party bus situation? We're open to a couple cocktails, but as 50-somethings, not really into a big younger drinking scene.

We'll be on Royal Caribbean, if that tells you anything about where we'll dock. I think you're right, a two hour tour would cut too much into our AI time. But maybe a stop or two? I really don't have ideas. Thoughts?

For our Cozumel port call in November, we're planning on going to Nachi Cocom. Two of the three of us have visited Cozumel before, but the third would like to see a little of the island. Would it be worth it to arrange for a driving tour of the island? If so, where would you suggest we go? I'm sure that the local drivers would have suggestions, too.

Hi there, We're finally seriously planning for our first time on the Mariner of the Seas, Nov 6, out of Port Canaveral. Two girlfriends and I are sharing a suite, and hoping to get massages right when we embark, then do Jamie's Italian lunch, before Sail Away. I'd love someone's experienced sense of timing, for when would be best for the massage and lunch reservations?
