  1. @bitobthank you. I think I read the thread then but didn’t remember it was the Moon so I couldn’t find it. Thanks for the search option.
  2. Thanks for the information.
  3. @RichT1 which vpn did you use? I have Nord
  4. We leave January 2 for our GV on the Nova and I have a few last minute questions: - If you use a VPN, which one worked well on the Nova? - Did anyone have a massage therapist at the spa onboard that you would recommend and if so what is the person’s name (we like deep tissue)? - is there a trainer onboard currently? How are the workout classes? thanks for the help!
  5. Bon Voyage! thank you for all your help and amazing posts. Have a safe, calm, and adventurous trip!

Is the form available online or does one need to contact SSea?
  7. When we were on the Moon there was table tennis, and the occasional putting competition inside. There may have been more but that is all I remember.
  8. We are on Nova. Not sure what the setup on Shadow is like, on the Nova that would not have worked. Moon was excellent setup so I hope the Shadow is more like the Moon. @ricktalcott I did request photos and measurements from the ship which did lead to solving the issue - not ideally but functionally. You may want to consider getting the information and measurements ahead of time.
  9. @mysty thanks. At least we know ahead of time thanks to another poster on CC. Would have been walk into the situation with no knowledge or plan.
  10. Thank you!!! We have already had a major glitch. Working with SSea to find a hack. Wheelchair accessible cabin has a major design flaw- only allowed 15 inches of access for to the bed. Kinda a glitchy but they have rotated the bed so it is parallel to the headboard and I shall learn to sleep on my husband’s side of the bed. A few more glitches to the new layout to fix but that is a major one. I was shocked to be honest with you since our HA cabin on the moon had an excellent design. I think someone convinced SSea they could squeeze a wheelchair accessible cabin in the same amount of space as a standard cabin. We won’t let it deter us from having fun but it is a bit appalling especially for what we paid for the cruise and a brand new ship. Oh well.
  11. @mysty I hope that is the last of your glitches. Have an amazing trip!!!
  12. I did a scale drawing based on the dimensions they sent me of the space between the bed and wall and the bed dimensions. I’m not sure yet appears it should work. . Will await hearing from them as they can measure themselves. They have 36 days to solve this before we board. Fingers crossed.
  13. @AnnaS thank you for bringing the lack of space next to the bed to my attention. It is indeed impossible for a wheelchair to squeeze into 40 cm (15.5 inches). I’m working with the team at Silversea to solve the issue. Probably will be pivoting the bed 90 degrees. They have assured me the AC is working so I hope that means the heat as well though the AC will be more of a concern on our journey. thanks again
  14. @AnneS I will reach out. Thank you for the alert. Do you know if they were able to fix the temperature issues in the room? We don’t sail until January 4. Do you by any chance have a direct contact email for the Hotel Director? Generally the only changes they make are seperating the beds or combining them. We would want them combined. thanks for your help! jean
  15. This is very concerning as I am a paraplegic and most have access to the bed. I hope it was just an optical illusion. The voyage and most of the segments are waitlisted. We were waitlisted for a cabin change but none cleared. We’re you assigned an ADA cabin as it sounds like you didn’t need it since the cabin you are in now is not ADA.
  16. Glad you got what you need. For me that won’t be that simple as we need the ADA room. I hope the resolve the heating issue by January. It gives them 50+ days so hopefully it will be a non issue for us.
  17. I hope they have resolved this for you and you are warm now. Please keep us posted as we are in the same cabin 9041 on January 4 for 71 days. I get cold easily. No option to change cabins. (We have been trying for 8 months).
  18. Not sure if this helps. We are on a SA GV , the overland options trickled in with most coming in October/November for a January 4 sailing.
  19. We are considering trying RSSC and Oceania's new ships. We have never sailed either product and have only taken one NCL cruise. We have 30+ cruises mainly on RCI products. I have a few questions: (Please if you do not have experience and are just speculating please be clear that this is the case). Tendering - cruise lines have varying philosophies around tendering in theory and in reality. Example: Cunard will not let people in wheelchairs use tenders. RCI products will for the most part (with a couple of surprising exceptions in Europe) move heaven and earth to get a wheelchair user on and off the tenders. What is your experience tendering in a light weight manual wheelchair if unable to walk or stand on these two lines? Do these lines offer help getting up and down ramps to disembark at ports? Where there any docked ports that they did not provide a means of exit and entry to those that used a wheelchair full time? Please share any additional information regarding wheelchair accessibility you think would be helpful in deciding to try these lines are not. Thank you for your help!
  20. Thank you for taking the time to provide this information. Very helpful. Do you have a link to your first two weeks in Silver Muse?
  21. Thank you for the information, it is very helpful. I plan to go straight away and sign up as it seems like the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary.
  22. I am looking forward to the Chef’s table for our anniversary. I have a few questions: -who or how do we sign up after embarkation? - @Lois R would you be so kind as to enquire if the Chef’s table is wheelchair accessible and also if the cooking class are? (Only if you have time). thanks so much.
  23. Looking forward to hearing your experience. We love TAs. We use them more for transportation after travel then as stand alone trips, who knows what the future will bring. We are on Deck 9 in January so, I am particularly interested in how that goes. Bon Voyage
  24. Misty, Thank you for all the helpful information about suitcases and dress requirements. The simple dress code information is very convenient and drama free. In college as part of my requirements I studied the history of fashion in depth, that is why I find the threads so amusing. Like time, fashion does not stand still. Ok I am slipping down the rabbit hole... I am so excited about this trip and it is so much fun to think and plan for it. I really so prefer chatting about it then dealing with day to day life. Mr. WNF's brother is here visiting with his son so I am typing while WNF and his brother (former professional musician) are jamming on the guitar. They're really good. Again, thank you. Jean
