  1. This is going to depend on your insurer and the details of the policy they send you -- NOT just the declarations page with the top line limits on it. I just looked at my AIG policy and it says that they'll pay for evacuation up to policy limits IF you contact them for approval first (or as soon after evacuation as you can if you're incapacitated). If you fail to contact them, they may only pay what they'd have paid had you contacted them. This implies to me that they'll make direct payment arrangements and receive some sort of discount. In other parts of the agreement, e.g. hospitalization, they do make reference to paying for charges directly if required. In the case of smaller things, the expectation is you pay the bills and seek reimbursement.

Thank you so much for the clarification.

  2. We are booked on the Epic 2/11 sailing. We had booked the haven 2 bedroom family suite. After final payment the price dropped. I know this happens and didn't really dwell on it.

Fast forward to today where I saw that our cabin was now 2200.00 less than what we paid and only 600.00 more for the deluxe owners suite with large balcony. So today 29 days out I called the upsell number. After putting me on hold she came back and said the best they could do was 4000.00 more to upgrade to the owners suite. What ?? 4000.00 more when a new booking would only be paying 600.00 more than we paid. I politely said no thank you and as I started to hang up she said that was a large price drop I should call the reservation number.

I did and got a very nice representative who after hearing everything put me on hold, came back and bingo - we got the deluxe owners suite with large balcony for an additional 399.00. We are very excited.

Just thought I'd share our experience- if upsell dept. can't help try the reservation number!!

  3. I've been getting NCLs latest emails reading 3 days only the pick 2 - 4 for suites AND 500.00 OBC. FLeetwide. I was excited jumped on the computer and booked our cruise in a suite for next February. Wondered why I didn't see my 500.00 OBC only to find out it's only for 2016 sailings. It didn't say that in the many emails they sent. Stupid me. From now on I'll search for fine print and never take their email promotions at face value.

  4. And why in the hell a Haven guest would buy a Vibe pass is beyond me...not only do you already have a dedicated outdoor area that exceeds that of the Vibe, I can say for a fact that when we sailed in the Getaway Haven the Haven crew told us more than once we can go through the back gate and go into the Vibe if we wanted to. Maybe a little known secret, but I can vouch for it 100%.

Because on our recent Escape cruise the Haven was overrun with noisy kids. Splashing in the pool , sitting in both hotubs. Yelling screaming, ran me out of the haven pool area the entire week.
