Is Shane Williams part of Evegreen Taxi?
From the comments above, I believe so. I inquired by email just a bit ago and I have not heard back yet, so I can't confirm.

For others looking into taxi info between cruise dock and Mendenhall, I found this chain from last year.
We will be dropped off at Mendenhall by our whale watch van, so we needed to find a flexible way back to the cruise docks. Evergreen sounds like it may be the way for us to go.

Can you elaborate on this? Do you need to pre-book the tickets in this case?
Thanks.
Maggie
Maggie,
I'm looking into the same thing right now. I just placed an email inquiry with http://evergreentaxi.com/index.php
They include a phone number and on-line reservation options.

Our suite number is M231 on deck 15, so not sure if club class or not. again we will see..
Jersey,
When you sign in on the Princess website, you will see your cabin listed, if it is club class, it will say. For instance, here is ours:
-
Grand Princess, Dolphin deck
- Club Class Mini-Suite
- Stateroom D424, Category M1

Grand Princess, Dolphin deck

I have a Mini Suite booked on the Regal in December. Could you please tell me what the difference is between a Club Class Mini and a regular Mini. I'm sorry, kinda new to cruising, Thank you.
Hi Jersey-
The difference between a club class mini and regular mini are placement on the ship - club class are mid ship closest to the elevators and having a special area in the dining room that is not supposed to have a wait time. There is an additional cost for the club class minis.
Here is a blurb from the Princess website:
A premium stateroom category featuring our best Mini-Suite staterooms, as well as the great amenities found in all Mini-Suites — plus premier dining benefits and luxurious perks. Each night, enjoy Club Class Dining, an exclusive dining area featuring expedited seating with no wait, expanded menu options, dedicated wait staff and tableside preparations. Other amenities include priority embarkation and disembarkation, a complimentary one-time wine set-up and so much more!^

This is an old post- not trying to hijack it, but to ask an additional question!
BudgetQueen,
I am trying to find out how to get a shuttle one way, from Mendenhall back to the cruise dock. We will be dropped off at Mendenhall after our whale watch, so we will just need a way to get back to the cruise dock. Can you point me in a direction to find out how to do this?
thanks!

PS- I remember getting some fantastic info from you 10 years ago on our last Alaskan cruise- so glad to see your name again!

I just did it - got $12.50 back for each of us. Almost covers a coffee card..... But, makes me much more confident that I didn't waste money by booking through Princess.

Thank you both!
Had not considered the very real possibility of rain.

Lots of folks have looked at my post, but no comments. Sure hope someone can give me feedback on this tour! There are positive comments on the vendor's site - but- doubt they would post negative.....

Hi-
We are debating booking a train and bike tour in Skagway.

Has anyone done this, and if so, what was your experience?
We have driven to Emerald Lake, so we have been on the road in the past. Just wondering how it is on a bike with cars and buses passing.
thanks for any info!

And yet another way to find out what ships are in what ports around the world:
-
Following to see what people have to say! We have booked the Misty Fjords Seaplane through the cruiseline for our Ketchikan stop. In Juneau we will be whale watching with Jayleen's Alaska.
-
We booked through Avis when we drove to Emerald Lake. Reservations definitely needed, unless there are very few ships in port the day you are there. We needed a mini-van, so I got there just before the office opened to make sure we got one! Was an easy, beautiful drive! I had downloaded a Murray's Guide - was a lot of great info.
Enjoy your trip!

We will be on the Grand in May - looking forward to seeing replies!

Exactly- we live 45 minutes south of San Francisco- and have always wanted to cruise out under the Golden Gate. Added bonus is only 1 way airfare.

hmm- that might be possible- thanks for the idea

Didn't even think of PVSA.
Sure would be wonderful if SF north one-way was allowed.....
thanks for the info!

Does anyone know of a cruiseline that does a northbound (or southbound) trip from San Francisco to Whittier or Seward? We would love to do a land portion at the end (or beginning) of a cruise- and would equally love to cruise out of SF- avoiding a flight one way!
thanks for any info!

Arcade games were $1.50 per play last week. I think my brother wished he hadn't shown the arcade to his boys so early in the trip!
Ping pong, pool, chess - all free.

Thanks Putterdude!
You have put my mind at ease!
I read about Rossies somewhere else- that might be a very good choice. Is there a good steak house in the area?
Our kids are teens- 14 & 19- but still- we like to be careful.
Panhandlers are a fact of life- visiting San Francisco from time to time has taught us to smile and say no.
thank you!!!!

Hello-
We currently have a room reserved at the Downtown Hampton Inn (Robson at Beatty). We booked this hotel because we were able to get 2 queen beds (there are 4 of us) and a continental breakfast and will only be in Vancouver for 16 hours or so.
From what I have read on this thread- and on the Hampton website- there is a free shuttle to the Ballentyne Pier (I'm going to contact the Inn to verify!)
My questions about this location:
-will we have much to pick from as far as dinner the night we arrive?
-would you walk around near the hotel at night with your family?
thanks for any info you can offer!
