  1. Given what's going on, I think I know the answer to this question. I'll ask anyway to see if anyone has tried this. If you are a light drinker, can you get a can of soda and apply it to your 15 drink / day limit?
  2. Most ships have both US 120V and international 240V outlets. If you have an international converter with USB ports, take it along. It gives you an additional outlet for charging.
  3. Our last Princess cruise was on Enchanted in November 24. I do not recall seeing "Premium Soft Serve" or "Granitas" on that sailing. We had Princess Plus and I would have happily tried granitas if available. Are these new?
  4. Thanks for the useful information. I normally drink plain old black coffee, I will upgrade to an espresso or Americano with Princess Plus. My young adult children will be sailing with us and go for cold brew or iced coffee, so it might enter into their Princess Plus or not decision. That said, I'm pretty certain that they will find a caffenated drink to their liking, because they occasionally things other than iced or cold brew.
  5. Do the java bars on Princess offer cold brew coffee? If yes, is it covered on Princess Plus?
  6. Thanks for the information. We should have asked earlier because we're already booked. I wanted to book D734 and D735. Apparently they are considered to be 3 passenger cabins. We were able to get D735 for 3 (1 child), but were unable to get D734 because there are only 2 of us in the cabin. We got B755 instead. The extra space is good, but our primary reason for booking them is that they appear to have more shady areas. We are shade seekers and do not use our balconies nearly as much as we would like to because of long periods of full sun during the day. We are hoping to get more shade time due to the larger balcony and the ship structure. Do you find this to be the case?
  7. Here is my basic math on the Plus package for a passenger without access to loyalty perks. Cost: $60 per day Crew: $17 per day Internet: $25 per day Crew and internet (if you need it) amount to $42 per day. That changes the question to "Will I use $18 per day in beverages? With alcohol, it is one to two drinks. Without alcohol, it's about 6 or less sodas, bottled water, premium coffee, juice bar to reach $60 total. Once you get there, the desserts and casual meals are a bonus.
  8. I am interested in hearing any experiences in the Caribbean Princess (or any Grand Class) aft balcony cabins. Did you enjoy it and would you do it again? Thanks.
  9. Enjoy. Princess excels at Alaska cruises.
  10. I have never "not" enjoyed a cruise, so I believe that you will somehow manage to enjoy it.
  11. On Carnival, you have to pay for early drop off access. It's called FTTF
  12. Do they still have them onboard?
  13. I could not agree more with this. They are businesses that answer to stockholders and all of the cruise line boards complain about cuts and changes. (One caveat: we are not casino people, so I can't speak to that). We personally prefer Princess, HAL, and X right now because they best match our current cruising style and preferences. We can enjoy ourselves on any cruise line by picking and choosing our onboard activities and avoiding others. If the price and itineary are good, we sail.
  14. It was included on our Alaska and Caribbean cruises last year.
  15. Thanks for the information and tips. The question was not about the gratuities. We will still use auto gratuities for her. It's just that she will not use anything in the Plus package other than the gratuities. She only drinks milk and water (in her own bottle filled with ship water).
  16. No personal experience but I recall them practicing in the Vista lounge during the day.
  17. I can seem to find the answer to this question. If mom and dad purchase princess plus, do they have to purchase a package for a 4 year old child sharing the cabin who doesn't drink soda, etc.?
  18. Thanks for the information. It turns out that some passenger information from one of the linked bookings is missing and I can not make the linked reservation until it is updated.
  19. I just booked three cabins for a combined family vacation TA says that the bookings are linked. I can not find any evidence of this when checking the booking on the Princess site. I am also unable to reserve a table for 6 on the app. It only gives the 2 of us as an option. How does one make the reservations for linked bookings? Is calling Princess helpful?
  20. I guess that Manhattan is not an option.
  21. That may be the case. It appears that Princess is also not showing anything from Brooklyn either. A quick google search indicated that there are improvements scheduled for the terminal, but details were sketchy.
  22. Does MSC have any plans for summer NYC sailings in 2026?
  23. Cruise lines are copy cat businesses, so the race to cut the most while increasing fares will continue until it it affects the empty cabins affect the bottom line. Unfortunately everyone is in the race, so moving to another line only moves the issue for you. It won't change until ships sail with empty cabins, or are reduced to fire sales to fill inventory.
  24. On our only visit to Antigua, we took a tour that stopped at a beautiful looking beach. Unfortunately, there was a steep drop off with very soft sand (you would sink into the sand over a foot) upon water entry. Is this common on Antigua beaches? Can you name some beaches with better access?
