  1. I completely agree. Christopher is awesome as an AM -- I would not have known he had recently been promoted had it not been announced during the Morning Show at the end of the cruise. He already appears to have CD potential.
  2. The Activities Manager on Anthem is “Tornado” Tanya Yates.
  3. Rick, so glad I get to witness this live blog first-hand. See you in a few hours! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  4. I was just about to post that — my aunt and cousin are on your sailing. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  5. I swear I was not trying to repost the video (which wasn’t even visible when I hit “Reply”)! Sent from my iPad using Forums
  6. I expect you to match him on all fronts — do not let me down! [emoji23] Sent from my iPad using Forums
  7. I had Dru as CD on Liberty, Allure (President’s Cruise in 2016 — you can’t get any more high octane than that), and Anthem. He is one of my favorites and on each cruise he was visible EVERYWHERE. He is more of a “host” type CD as opposed to one who becomes the center of attention (and I have favorites who are in this category as well). On Allure he developed a bad case of laryngitis but still maintained visibility and introduced everything you would expect despite having next to no voice. I have a feeling something else was going on during your sailing if he was not as visible as other CD’s you have had. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  8. Having been on the President's Cruise in 2016, that is really a job for two people (because of the additional entertainment and activities), and Michael Bayley would not fit that bill (he would be the first one to tell you that, too).
  9. With Liberty having been refurbished in 2016 she is now cosmetically the same age as Harmony. And much of the amplification that was done to Mariner and Independence has little to do with the cruise director's job day to day. After 17 years in the position I doubt schedule changes come as a surprise to Marc.
  10. He also said that there were a lot of changes -- I wonder what that means. It will be interesting to see who will now be the CD on the President's Cruise.
  11. Carlos was CD when I was on Empress last fall. I thought he did a fine job. He is an outstanding singer and performed with the band in Boleros one evening and did a set in the Centrum as well. I felt he was approachable and personable. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  12. A CD that I trust and have had a number of times told me that the entertainment and activities are driven by the demographics of the guests onboard. They look at who will be sailing and adjust accordingly. I can tell you that you get vastly different crowds sailing to Canada/New England than you do sailing to the Caribbean and Bermuda — meaning that if you were to do a B2B in late summer/early fall from either Cape Liberty or Baltimore, you will probably think you were on completely different ships. Personally, I have enjoyed what I have felt to be subtle differences in my sailings from European and American ports. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  13. There is a reason they call her Tornado Tanya — she is full of energy! She is terrific — had her as AM on Grandeur for the Christmas/New Year’s sailing. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  14. Elvis and the AM currently working with him (Eric Lopez) on Rhapsody are a good balanced team with a great rapport. They seemed to make each other stronger in their respective roles — which really enhanced the activities and entertainment experience. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
