  1. The Daily is the Caring. We've nurtured that all through the pandemic and for some of us, it has been a lifeline.
  2. Thank you for being concerned for me! It is so nice to know that someone cares.
  3. Good morning, everyone! As tired as I was last night, I couldn't sleep. Well, I did for a while. I went to bed around 10:30, fell right to sleep and then woke up at 12:30 and couldn't get back to sleep until 3:00. Grrrrr. I hate those nights! I have a follow up doctor's appointment from my back procedure a couple of weeks ago, but other than that the day is free, free, free. I think I'll get some chocolate. I've been to Honningsvag and went out to Nordkapp. It was all fogged in, of course, and we could see nothing. I did like the trolls. Tonight's supper is an easy fix and you can be creative. Don't like pepperoni? Don't put it on. Use something else. Want bacon instead? Go for it. The recipe is an idea and you can expand it. This is also a way for those of us watching carbs to enjoy those pizza flavors without all the carbs. I've made the pizza with cauliflower crust before and it is pretty good. In fact, my niece and nephew gave it a thumbs up. This is another way to enjoy it and work more vegetables into the meal. https://www.gimmesomeoven.com/pizza-spaghetti-squash-boats/ Here's one that is only 270 calories and 14 grams of carbohydrate. Don't let that healthy part scare you off! https://healthyrecipesblogs.com/spaghetti-squash-pizza/ This one does not spare the calories or the carbs, but has a nice twist by including some nice, garlicky sauteed spinach. https://cookieandkate.com/spaghetti-squash-pizza-bowls-recipe/
  4. Of course Sheila has our prayers!
  5. Good afternoon, everyone! First of all, a huge thank you to Jacqui @kazu for posting the meal of the day for me. I was driving down the street at 6:15 am and wouldn't have had time to post from Columbus even if I had taken my tablet along. I had a number of booklets from an economic study that was done that I had to heft along and that was more than enough. @grapau27 Happy Birthday! @Cruising-along Please be careful. That is how I broke my hip and that interferes with cruising. You don't want that! @Seasick Sailor I will be thinking of Allen and his next MOHs surgery. I sure hope that bathroom gets finished soon. @marshhawk Welcome to the Daily and prayers for you husband on his surgery. @HAL Sailer That is wonderful news about your DGD! @atexsix I am fine, just travel for work today. @St. Louis Sal I admire you greatly for your participation in those drug trials. Anyone who does helps all of us as we are all touched in some way.
  6. Go ahead and post. I'm not taking it with me. I have too much to carry as it is.
  7. Good evening! @kazu check email please. I sent you some information. @StLouisCruisers What great news about Damon! it does take time to coordinate all the parts of coming home. It sounds like he is coming home on hospice with all the equipment that was delivered. We had all of that for my mom as well. I think all the side effects from my booster are gone. I'm feeling pretty good tonight. Let's just hope I sleep well tonight before having to drive to Columbus and back. It is 120 miles one way.
  8. Oh, believe me, I have done that dozens of times along with clearing out cookies and caches. I just have the poison cookie that doesn't get deleted and I have to wait for it to expire.
  9. My laptop is working on Edge and Chrome. Now, if we could only get the tablet to work. I have to travel for work tomorrow and that is so much easier to take along.
  10. On my PC both Chrome and Edge are now working. My tablet is not working on any browser. I still need to check the laptop.
  11. @ipdaily Welcome to the Daily. I wouldn't change my name. I love the humor of your grand. My grandmother was quite earthy herself.
  12. I'll probably be tired when I get home tomorrow as well. I'm getting too old for these trips. This one is for work and I will be officially retired in April. It was supposed to be this month but we put off our in person meeting until April because of Covid. We're hoping things are better come April. I do have the meal of the day prepared and thought about taking my tablet with me to post it when I get to Columbus. But, CC is still not working on the tablet. I've cleared the cookies several times and restarted it, to no avail. I will check the laptop and see what that does. Thanks for the offer and if I take you up on it, I will send you what I have.
  13. Thank you to all who have wished me well. I did the pool again this morning with no difficulties and I'm feeling quite well right now. But, it was exactly as @Seasick Sailordescribed. If there are any after effects at this point it is that I am a bit tired. But, that may be a good thing as I have to hit the hay early tonight. The Meal of the Day will be slightly delayed tomorrow. Well, maybe more than slightly. I have to drive to Columbus tomorrow morning and need to be out the door around 6-6:30 am. That is a bit early for the Daily. The meal may wait until I get home late afternoon.
  14. Good morning, everyone! It is another grey and gloomy day here in northeast Ohio. The high today is 49 degrees. Definitely fall and heading towards that W time. My arm is still sore from my booster on Sunday. I started out well yesterday, but by last night I had prickly skin and a slight fever and couldn't keep my eyes open. I went to bed really early. I woke up in the middle of the night and I think the fever had broken. I had thrown off the covers and was cold. So, I bundled back up and went back to bed. Slept for almost 9 hours. Nothing much planned for today except the pool at 10:00 and some phone calls I have to make. I love lemon chicken of any variety. Adding some pepper to that really gives it some pizazz. This first recipe is great for a quick and easy weekday meal. https://thestayathomechef.com/baked-lemon-pepper-chicken/ This next recipe doesn't use the lemon pepper seasoning and has many suggestions for us. https://www.cookingclassy.com/lemon-pepper-chicken/ And, for our final suggestion we have Dinner at the Zoo. I enjoy this site. This recipe calls for a light coating on the chicken to give it a bit of a crunch and to help it brown nicely. https://www.dinneratthezoo.com/lemon-pepper-chicken/ Enjoy and happy cooking!
  15. Now is just the waiting. That is the hardest part. Keeping you close in my thoughts and prayers. I am so glad that arrangements have worked out. And, yes, Great Grandma is one feisty lady! May I be half as feisty at 83 and 73.
  16. Good morning, everyone. I'm hoping for a reprieve from the rain and gloom of the last few days, but the forecast says I might have to wait until Wednesday. Oh, well. I got my booster yesterday (Moderna) and so far the only side effect is a sore arm. I will muddle through. Two zoom meetings today and the pool on the docket. I'll celebrate the artists and I'd like to try today's drink. It is worth a sip. As others have said, today's meal is way too carb heavy for me. Can it be lightened up with zoodles? The first recipe is traditional and comes from Ree Drummond on the Food Network: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/fettuccine-alfredo-2109163 It sure looks good, but it would put me in a coma. Next up, for those who like it, is an Olive Garden copy: https://easybudgetrecipes.com/olive-garden-fettuccine-alfredo/ This recipe lightens up the sauce a bit while keeping it nice and creamy. Still too many carbs in all that pasta. I'm sticking with my fish and green beans tonight. https://www.loveandlemons.com/fettuccine-alfredo-recipe/ Wishing everyone a great day.
  17. Good will goes a lot further than the $100 in the pocket would. I'm also going to rip out some of her shrubbery that she has let grow out of control. It blocks part of the sidewalk from her lot into mine. When I'm backing out of the driveway I can't see if anyone is coming down that walk. She has a young son and I am scared silly that he'll come running past or be on his bike and I'll run him down. I've talked to her about it and nothing was done, so it is coming out.
  18. Wow, that was nice of you. Here if the neighbor's tree falls on my house and causes damage, I am still responsible. I can only make the neighbor pay if I can prove negligence. My neighbor had a couple of rotted trees and they were sending down pretty big limbs. One bounced off my garage and ended up in my yard. The other landed on my deck. Fortunately, there was no damage to the house, but I had to pay to have the limbs cleaned up. They were much too big and heavy to just carry away. When I had my trees trimmed a couple years ago, I also had the rest of her rotted trees taken down. She never even noticed.
  19. We did the Pulpit Rock cruise with Rodne in 2017 and it was great. I can easily skip the waffles. They are nothing to get excited about.
  20. I hear you! The problem is, my bucket list is growing faster than my bank account.
  21. Good morning, everyone! Kind of cold and gloomy here, but we'll make the most of it. Never had a mother in law, but I adopted my sister's. Diane was a wonderful person and she and I could sit and talk for hours. Once we went to lunch with the family and they all got up and went to the cars while we sat there talking. My sister had to come back in the restaurant and get us. I'll skip the baloney and celebrate the UN. @57redbirdfingers and toes are crossed that your husband's test was a false positive and he can stay on the surgery schedule. @Seasick Sailor Happy Anniversary! Celebrate, but pace the wine. Remember, it has to last. Today's meal is a great one. I love pork loin with lots of garlic and pepper. My favorite was a recipe from Paul Prudhomme. The first selection comes with oven and slow cooker directions and a great looking gravy. https://cafedelites.com/pork-loin-recipe/ The next recipe looks like what my mom used to make. https://realhousemoms.com/perfectly-moist-pork-loin/ And here is the Prudhomme recipe. It is a bit different from a traditional pork loin. https://www.food.com/recipe/chef-pauls-pork-roast-418807 Here is how to make your own Cajun Seasoning: https://therecipecritic.com/cajun-seasoning/ Enjoy, everyone. Heading to the pool this morning and then for my booster this afternoon!
  22. Wishing everyone on the Nieuw Amsterdam a fabulous cruise.
