  1. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

    Rabbit, Rabbit.

    Good days. Friendship and Forgiveness are so important. Love my select few girlfriends!

    Funny quote.

    I like the meal, pass on the drink and wine. I think it's chicken tonight for me.

    My first ever cruise (for my 50th birthday) originated in San Juan. It was a Princess Caribbean cruise.

    I'm a bit late today. I wanted to finish up the last of the shrub trimming this morning, as we're supposed to get rain this afternoon. I was also cutting my neighbors unruly stuff too that grows over on my side; he doesn't care and never does much to his yard.

    @grapau27 Wow on that pizza! And thanks for the piper.

    @smitty34877 Prayers for Tana and that she gets to go home from the hospital.

    @cat shepard Beautiful pictures. Makes us all want to go there!

    @Crazy For Cats Thanks for sharing your voyage.

    Prayers for the Care list and cheers for the Celebration list.

    Stay safe everyone.

    @JazzyV Vanessa, sycamore trees are trashy trees with their shedding bark and leaves in the fall, but they are fast growing and provide good shade.  We planted one at our old house to shade an upstairs bedroom window.  The new owners cut it down shortly after moving in.  Growing up, we had two sycamore trees in our front yard, and they helped keep the house cool in the summer before a/c.

    Lenda

    I think this tree was definitely planted for cooling the house. My house was built circa 1904, so way before a/c. I have an old picture of the house (not sure when it's from) and the tree is small. It is now huge. I like it except for the shedding bark and those green spikey things it drops.

    Squirrels! They are constantly taking our tomatoes @nd running along our privacy fence with them

    Maybe, We have lots of squirrels on this tree lined street. But I also saw a deer twice in my yard in the last 2 weeks; never had I seen that before. Unfortunately I had turned off my outside cameras when I was mowing the lawn yesterday and forgot to turn them on last evening. That's how I saw the deer.

  4. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

    Good days. I like avocados and mutts. Cotton candy is too sweet for me. I worked on the boardwalk summers as a teenager, and cotton candy, salt water taffy and candy apples were all around.

    Good quote.

    Ham is good, but not for today. I like the drink and wine.

    I haven't been to today's port.

    I got a lot done yesterday. First I had to clean up all the bark from the shedding sycamore out front. Then edged and finally mowed. Today is shrub trimming. I just put together the handles on my new hedge trimmer. I was out a bit and saw one of my few big tomatoes was missing; then found it out front with a chunk bitten out. Deer (although my outdoor camera should have picked it up)? Squirrel? Something else?

    @kazu Good news about your friend's DH.

    @smitty34877 Continued prayers for Tans and Miss Camilla.

    @grapau27 Lovely pictures.

    @Crazy For Cats How exciting!

    @StLouisCruisers Oh no. These breakthrough cases are scaring me!

    @cat shepard Oh my, great pictures. That climbing on the glacier looks so treacherous! Not for me.

    Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

    Stay safe everyone.

  5. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

    Great days. I love cheesecake, have no FIL, and always celebrate friends.

    I like the meal minus the sauce. Also the drink and wine. I like Roy's meal as well.

    I didn't get to Skagway on my only Alaskan cruise as we couldn't dock in Haines (I can't remember why). I was disappointed to miss the White Pass train ride I had booked.

    Wile no severe storms here yesterday, there were tornado warnings in the county to our southwest. It's cooler and less humid here today. I may try to mow the lawn later. The shrubs desperately need to be trimmed, so that's for tomorrow.

    I drove for the first time yesterday and the difference with better vision was amazing! I'm no longer a menace on the road, lol. The Rheumatologist wants to do an MRI of the lower spine due to my neuropathy complaints. I'm waiting for insurance approval.

    @Crazy For Cats I'm glad there was no fire, but what a way to spend the night before departure!

    @cat shepard More wonderful pictures from iceland! I want to go there!

    @aliaschief Yikes, that's way too hot!

    Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

    Stay safe everyone. Our Covid numbers are ticking up some, but fortunately not too bad.

  6. Good morning. Thanks for the Daily.

    Nice days. I like tigers and wings. I haven't been wearing lipstick due to masks, just lip balm, but did before Covid.

    Great quote.

    I like the meal, drink and wine.

    Welcome to the fleet Rotterdam!

    I haven't been to today's port.

    I'm early today as I'm heading to a Rheumatology appointment. They manage immune meds for my chronic eye issue. We're expecting storms this afternoon, so I hope I can run to the grocery store after my appointment, before the skies open up.

    @smitty34877 So sorry Camilla didn't get to go home, but hoping she will soon. Cute picture!

    @kazu Beautiful flowers.

    @cat shepard Good luck with your appointment today.

    Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

    Stay safe everyone, as variant cases rise.

  7. Good morning. Thanks for the Daily.

    All good days. I like milk chocolate, appreciate the Buffalo soldiers, and we need nature conservation.

    Good quote, although precautions are often necessary.

    I like the meal for cooler weather. The drink looks interesting. I'll take the wine.

    I haven't been to today's port. Thanks for pictures.

    Another warm day here with rain tonight and possible severe storms tomorrow. I'm still going to hold off on yardwork until the weekend.

    @rafinmd I think you can take me off the care list now!

    @Crazy For Cats Exciting about your upcoming sailing!

    @smitty34877 Hoping Miss Camilla gets to come home today!

    @cat shepard  So great to follow your Iceland adventure.

    @kazu So sorry to hear of @Hflors Helen's loss of her DH, and of your BFF's husband's condition. Prayers.

    @lindaler Good news on the rain helping with the fires.

    @dfish It sounds like the new pool place is a winner.

    Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

    Stay safe everyone and wear your 😷 if need be.

  8. Good evening. Thanks for the Daily.

    I'm late today due to my eye appointment. My doctor was running a good bit behind due to an emergency patient. She had to fix a small hole in someone's cornea with Super Glue! My stitches are out, eye pressure is now normal and vision is better since last week. It was so hard to not blink during the suture extraction! Afterwards I took my BFF, who had driven me to my appointment, out for a belated birthday dinner. Luckily the restaurant wasn't crowded at the time, but I was still a little anxious.

    Hmmm. Unusual days. Props to Korean War Veterans.

    Good quote.

    I'll pass on the meal, but like the drink and wine. I also like Roy's meal.

    I haven't been to today's port. Thanks for the pictures.

    @smitty34877 Continued prayers for Tana.

    @StLouisCruisers Oh no on DMIL's fall out of bed. I've seen lots of low beds and pads for patients. Some patients are Houdini's - my mother who had dementia could get out of anything, including a posey vest restraint. I have back aches most mornings; I'm blaming my bed and need to get a new mattress set. Great pictures!

    @kb4683  @Mtn2Sea Awesome pictures!

    @Sharon in AZ Sorry to hear about your friend. So sad.

    @St. Louis Sal Good luck with your procedure tomorrow.

    Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

    Stay safe everyone.

  9. Good morning. Thanks for the Daily.

    Interesting days. Being an only child, I was never an Aunt. Not a fan of all or nothing.

    Good quote.

    I like the meal, but too carby right now for me. I like the drink and wine.

    I haven't been to today's port. Thanks for the pictures.

    It's going to be hot here the next few days, but cooler by Friday. Hopefully I'll be cleared for yardwork soon.

    I have an appointment tomorrow to get the stitches out of my cornea 😲. Also it will be the last day of wearing the eye shield 24/7; I'll still have to wear it overnight for another week.

    @StLouisCruisers Happy Birthday to Morgan!

    @mamaofami Happy Birthdays to your DD and SIL. Nice for Sam to get out for a meal.

    @cunnorl I'm wearing my mask in most indoor situations; actually never stopped. I am considered immunocompromised, so trying to stay well.

    @cat shepard Thanks for the awesome pictures!

    Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

    Stay safe everyone and wear your 😷 if need be.

    What ship was that?  You went through the new locks.

    Roy

    It was the NCL Bliss and yes we went through the new locks. I think it was the biggest ship to transit the new Canal when it first did a canal trip in 2018.

    The 168,028-ton Norwegian Bliss enters a lock at the Panama Canal on May 14, 2018. It is the largest cruise ship ever to transit the Panama Canal.

  11. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

    Good days. A salute to culinarians and parents. I've never had a chili dog. Excellent quote.

    I like the meal, drink and wine. Also Roy's meal sounds tasty.

    I have cruised the Panama Canal, although on NCL. We did not disembark in Gatun Lake. My last cruise before the shutdown.

    It's hot and humid here today, with perhaps scattered showers. Not doing too much today.

    @smitty34877 So sorry Tana is struggling. Prayers.

    @cat shepard Thank you for the Iceland pictures!

    @dfish I make a Carolina pulled pork that has a vinegar based sauce, to make it more low carb.

  12. Good morning. Thanks for the Daily.

    Hoorah for the first HAL post-pandemic cruise to Alaska!

    Good days. I like the quote also.

    The meal sounds interesting and I like the drink and wine.

    I haven't been to today's port. Thanks for pictures from those who have.

    My eye feels irritated and a little painful this morning. I think it's either the stitches and contact lens (I've never worn any) or some overnight dryness. I'll try putting in lubricating drops at bedtime. I usually use a gel, but didn't want to put that in with the contact in. It will feel better as the day goes on and more drops go in, I think.

    @USN59-79 Congrats on the good news from your doctor.

    @smitty34877 Continued prayers for Miss Camilla and Tana.

    Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

  13. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

    Interesting days. I never knew any grandparents, sadly. Vanilla Ice Cream is ok; i prefer other flavors. It's 76 and low humidity; that's hot enough for me.

    Good quote.

    Another fish meal for me to pass on. I'll take Roy's meal. I prefer White Russians and red wine.

    I have been to Spain on a land trip, but not Alicante. Thanks for the pictures.

    Things are going pretty well. I had light sensitivity with pain yesterday, and some eye irritation this morning. But both improved after my morning drops. The tape for the shield is irritating my skin even though it's paper tape. I'm using the minimal amount now to keep it on.

    @summer slope Happy Birthday!

    @smitty34877 Prayers for continued progress for Miss Camilla. How exciting that she may go home! Such a sweet picture ♥️.

    @StLouisCruisers Happy Birthday to your DMIL.

    @grapau27 What a nice shelter to shield you from the sun.

    Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

  14. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

    Lovely days. I'm at leisure today and will have a refreshment. I don't havve a hammock.

    I like the meal and wine. I'll pass on the drink. My BFF brought me chili, so that's dinner tonight.

    I haven't been to today's port, nor Scotland at all. Anticipating pictures.

    It's very nice here today. Low humidity and in the mid-70's. And the smoke effect from the PNW and Canada is clearing. Windows are open!

    I'm feeling pretty good. I slept almost 9 hours last night; I was so tired. Maybe a sedation after effect. So, I'm putting in my drops and wearing my shield. My Ophthalmologist is conservative, so I have to wear it all the time for a week, then a week of bedtime only. I may have some wine tonight; I didn't want to until the sedation meds were totally out of my system.

    @rafinmd Wishing you the best with your new health issues.

    @summer slope I'm glad you're no longer having pain. Hopefully med side effects go away soon.

    @grapau27 I have the same issue with hammocks, lol. The beach looks so enjoyable.

    @mamaofami Happy Birthday to David.

    @kazu Sorry to hear about the car issue.

    @Cruising-along Good news that they're trying to save your cousin's transplanted kidney. Sorry to hear of your friend's Covid diagnosis. It's good that most breakthrough cases are mild. I've been wearing a mask although fully vaccinated.

    @dfish What color is the top? Peroxide often takes out stains, but I'd be wary if the top is a dark color.

    Prayers for the care list and cheers to the celebration list.

    Stay safe everyone and mask up if need be.

  15. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

    Good days. We're all someone. I like a good hotdog. I don't eat much junk food. I'm not sure of what all qualifies as junk food.

    Funny quote.

    I rarely eat scallops; just not a seafood person. I like the drink and wine.

    I haven't been to today's port.

    I had some concern yesterday due to very fuzzy vision in the right eye. Fortunately the pain is gone.  I'm just back from my post-op check, I have some corneal edema which explains that. It should slowly resolve.  I did know I have a couple of stitches in the cornea as it was floppy, but didn't know I have a contact lens in place so I don't feel the scratchiness of the stitches. I have a moderate flare of the uveitis with pain from light, but drops and sunglasses are helping that. Most exciting was being able to read down to 20/70 on the eye chart, when I could only count fingers before. I go back in a week to get the stitches out. I'm to take it easy - no yard work, lifting, etc. and wear my shield 24/7 for now.

    @Sharon in AZ Happy Birthday to Craig.

    @Horizon chaser 1957 Beautiful prints. That will make a stunning top.

    @StLouisCruisers Good that the x-ray was ok. ACE-inhibitor BP meds can cause chronic cough and some other meds too.

    Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

    Stay safe everyone.

    There used to be a Dutch dinner, the ladies were given Dutch bonnets, the men got caps, and the dinner menu contained some Dutch treats.  I thought I had photos, but can't find them, perhaps it was pre-digital, or else I decided the bonnet was not flattering!

    Now there is usually an "Orange Party" on board one night, after dinner.

    From my first cruise on HAL in 2006, on the Statendam Auckland to Sydney Cruise. I have it labeled Dutch Treat. This was on Nov 30th.

  17. Just popping in with an update.

    Thanks so much every one for your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate it. This was not a walk in the park. The doctor said the lens was like cement, so getting it out took a while. I was quite uncomfortable during the procedure and tried to say something, but I couldn't get the words out for some reason. The cornea was floppy, so she had to put stitches in it, which will come out in a week. Anyway, I'm home. Still in some discomfort, so I'll take some Tylenol as advised. I had better vision earlier right after surgery, but now it seems more cloudy. Not sure what that's all about. This is an eye that was an undetected lazy eye as a child, so the vision won't be great without glasses anyway. I have to go in for a follow up tomorrow.

    I'll catch up on the posts at some point this evening.
