  1. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I'll celebrate men 😜. Women entrepreneurs are fortunately more common. And a big salute to those who adopt, from an adoptee! Good quote. I like the meal (it's a staple of get togethers and weddings in Western PA). Maybe on the drink, and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Kefalonia Island. An important day in history. It's sunny here, but we'll barely get above 50 later. Good football weather, although the Steelers are in Cleveland. Same old issues with me. I didn't go to watch the hockey game on TV with my UK friends. I was so tired from lack of sleep. I'm trying to do a bit of cleaning today, as my back/leg allows. @Cruzin Terri Bon Voyage to you and Jim! @StLouisCruisers Thanks for posting Lenda's photos. @aliaschief Bruce, I hope you're feeling better today, and that your knee will not be a hindrance to cruising. @Denise T Enjoy taking it easy this week. @RMLincoln I'm glad you got a bit of rest. Enjoy the grandkids being there to help today. @Haljo1935 Prayers for your GI issues to clear up before your cruise. @kochleffel Sorry to hear about the interfaith Thanksgiving service issues. @Seasick Sailor Prayers that nothing interferes with you getting to the port on time. @ottahand7 I'll have to look into that McCullough book; he's from here and I've read several of his books. I met him many years ago. @Quartzsite Cruiser It's good to hear that the motorhome bed was comfortable. Continued safe travels. @rafinmd Enjoy the return through the locks; it's fascinating. I'd like to go through again. @Cruising-along Great news that your BFF tested negative. @marshhawk I hope your breathing is better today and that DH has no lasting effects from his fall. @mamaofami Thinking of you and Sam. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those Celebrating.

  3. @marshhawk I'm glad you decided to not work so much, and take time for yourself. Oh no on Chuck's fall and hitting his head (especially on a glass coffee table!). I hope there's no real injury. That's scary.
  4. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I like apple cider; when I used to drive a friend to VA in the fall, I'd stop and get apple cider at roadside stands. Mickey Mouse is fun, and at Disney all girls can feel like princesses. Not sure of the context of the quote. I love butter chicken, and have a "healthier" recipe. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Baie Comeau. Good days; appropriate that Mickey Mouse day and the release of Steamboat Willie coincide. St. Peter's Basilica is not to be missed on a trip to Vatican City. It's sunny here, but only 48F. I'm very sleepy, since I only slept about 2.5 hours. I tried to make a grocery list for curbside pickup, but a few things I wanted couldn't be bought curbside (a bag of oranges. Why not?). So I went out first thing to the store, before the hordes appeared. Although I had a lot of pain this morning, I'm feeling somewhat better this afternoon. Maybe the increased dose of Gabapentin is doing something. BFF is having our UK friends to his house to watch the away hockey game; I'm not sure I'm up to joining in. @StLouisCruisers Sorry about the itinerary changes; necessary but still disappointing. @kazu Good luck finishing up your outdoor work. @Quartzsite Cruiser Safe travels to Quartzsite! @Lady Hudson Katherine, I'm sorry for your worries about DH's urinary tract pain. And oh no on DS Karen being in the hospital; I hope they get to the bottom of her stomach pains. @0106 Thanks for putting O Henry's quote in context. @cat shepard Nice of your friends to bring dinner to your place. @smitty34877 Enjoy your getaway to see DS and take the time to relax. I'm sure the rest of the family will do a good job in your absence. I'm glad that you are starting to have some better days again. @Seasick Sailor You've been busy! Your big trip is almost here. Aww, look at cute Oliver. @Nickelpenny Very sad about the 9yo. @RMLincoln I'm glad all your stuff is there, and the grandkids were able to help. I'm sure it's exhausting and it will take a while to figure out what goes where. @Haljo1935 I hope both you and DH feel better soon - you've got a cruise to go on! @marshhawk I hope you're feeling a bit better, and the oxygen issue gets straightened out. @bennybear I'm sure you'll enjoy meeting the newest member of the family. @Cruzin Terri Sorry to hear you won't have your boat ride. But you're getting on a bigger "boat" tomorrow! You and Jim can relax and rest on the ship. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  6. Good afternoon. It's nasty out. After PT I was going to stop at the grocery store, before the madness of Thanksgiving shopping, but it was pouring rain, so I deferred. My therapist was nice and walked me to my car while holding my umbrella, as I was juggling my purse and cane. I guess I'll try to go Sunday morning, when it's usually not too busy. I considered curbside pickup, but I like to pick my own fruit. @dfish That's a long time to wait for results and for therapy, but what can you do? @kochleffel I hope your foot is better soon.
  7. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. No hiking for me today. I'll salute all students and Baklava. The Baklava I've had here has been too sweet; it was much better in Greece. I disagree with the quote. Maybe for the meal. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to La Paz. 3 important days in history today. It's cloudy and rainy today, with more rain all afternoon, but up to 61F. The high will only be 45F tomorrow. I started the extra Gabapentin last night and took a muscle relaxant at bedtime. All together I got 5 hours of sleep last night, for the first time in many weeks, yay. Still the same awful pain when I got up. I go to PT later, for the little I can do there. BFF and UK friends are going to the Pens practice and then out to eat. I can't sit in the practice arena, then stand to wait for players after. I did once, and got my Crosby jersey autographed.🙂. @seagarsmoker So sorry to hear about the job layoff, especially at this time of year. I hope something better comes along. @Nickelpenny Your pain clinic visit sounds very much like mine. After the epidural didn't help, the doctor said see the surgeon, who might recommend another steroid injection from a different spot or may recommend surgery. Nice photos. @kazu I hope you can get outside things done and wrapped up before the weather bomb comes. @cat shepard Thanks for your concern. Sitting in my straight wooden computer chair actually brings me relief. I can't lay down, or recline, or stand very long without pain, but then I sit in my chair to feel better. @Heartgrove I hope you don't have issues getting home after your cruise. @Cruzin Terri I'm glad you had a nice dinner last night. Safe travels to Miami. @smitty34877 I agree that pain management is difficult, even non-narcotic therapies. Getting anything stronger, even for people with life-altering medical issues, has been ruined by all the abuse and new regulations, thereby hurting those who truly need it. Prayers for Tana and you. @Quartzsite Cruiser Great La Paz photos. Safe travels to Quartzsite. @summer slope Thanks for your diligence with the daily drink recipes. My insurance keeps wanting a home nurse visit. I told them I didn't need it, as I worked in healthcare and can take my BP and handle my meds. Plus I see doctors in some form at least monthly or more. At least it's not mandatory. @dfish Thanks for the recipes. I like butternut squash but it's so hard to cut. I have to wear my cutproof gloves to do it. @aliaschief Go figure on the phone charging. I never heard of Hubbard squash. @ger_77 Happy Anniversary to your DS and DDIL! @RMLincoln I hope the movers get everything done without issue. Exciting! @marshhawk I hope DH's doctor can take a quick look at you too. @mamaofami I hope all is well with you and Sam. @HAL Sailer Thinking of you and your DH. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

  9. Good evening. Surprisingly, the NP called me this afternoon before I had a chance to call her. We discussed some things, but I don't want to go off the Gabapentin to start something else that will take weeks to kick in. I'm going to up my dose a little. I said no to a Medrol dosepak after bad side effects from it in the past. So not much to do. I appreciate the concern about stairs. I have to go up and down once a day, as the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. I avoid the basement lately, unless for laundry or to get something from the freezer or overflow food supply. I tried to nap, but the leg pain that came on from being in the recliner wouldn't let me. @kazu Thanks for sharing the bursary page. What a lovely tribute to Jose. @Mtn2Sea Interesting photos. @marshhawk I hope DH's doctor can see you tomorrow. Your cutback in cigarettes is paving the way for quitting. @Vict0riann The hassle in the airports has made getting to cruise ports quite the trial. My one next year is from Boston, so BFF wants to drive. I hope you get whatever's interfering with your walking diagnosed and treated. @57redbird Thanks for the recommendation, but I can't take that much Tylenol (inc. LFT's). I'm glad you got that appointment. @ottahand7 Wow on those scholarships not being acted on by students. @grapau27 Thank you Graham. @kochleffel Good to hear you made it home safely. @RMLincoln I'm glad you made it there safely. And how nice they have a guest suite, so you're not on air mattresses tonight. I hope all goes smoothly tomorrow.
  10. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Clarinets are ok. There should be tolerance throughout the world. I still have my DM's tin of buttons that she kept. I like the quote. Maybe on the meal, pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Saint Pierre and Miquelon. UNESCO is an important organization. I love the Sound of Music, and went on a tour in Salzburg to the film locations. The last warmer and sunny day today. Yesterday was tough. I did laundry, which already had me in pain. Then I went with BFF to the airport to pick up DD Ruth's DM and a friend of their family. I went into baggage claim, and every step was torture. We chatted with them a bit in their hotel lobby, but it was getting late. I had to come home and eat a little something as I hadn't had dinner. I got about 2.5 hours of sleep. I'm so sleepy and will try to nap shortly, if I can stand being in the recliner. I took some ibuprofen this morning, but don't think it will do much. I'm just taking it easy today. I think I'll try calling the NS office, as I am barely functional these days. @grapau27 Nice to see you posting again. I hope your phone keeps working correctly. @StLouisCruisers It's nice that DS is spending time with DDIL and Ren; sad that he was alone on his birthday. Thanks for the nice port photos, despite not feeling well that day. @Nickelpenny I hope you get some help/answers at the pain clinic today. @kazu Good job on finishing the bursary for NP's in Jose's memory. I think posting the link would be fine. @Haljo1935 Interesting dream. @Denise T That's great that you liked your new doctor. I hope the new meds get your diabetes under better control. Sorry to hear of an expensive sounding plumbing job. @smitty34877 Hopefully your street won't be disrupted for too long. @cunnorl I hope there's not serious flooding where you are. @cruising sister I do hope all with the DS's estate is finished today. @dfish I hope things start to move along with your treatment. I know PT is wanted before. I can't do much when I go, due to pain. I was reading about recovery from surgery, and all the restrictions on lifting and bending. Hard when one lives alone. I've worn a lidocaine patch that didn't seem to do too much, but I'll give it another shot. I fall asleep ok, but once I awaken with pain, that seems to be it for the night. I can't lay back down in any position without pain. @RMLincoln An exciting day, as you arrive for good to your new home! Sorry about the obnoxious people above you that kept you from sleeping. Yay for DGD's help. @aliaschief Ugh on the new phone not working; I hope they can fix it right then, or else give you a new one. @0106 Great quote. @Niagarawine Your French onion soup sounds good. @arzz I'm glad you got to FL safely! Have a great cruise! Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those with something to Celebrate.

  12. Definitely leaving; she's away from the dock on the map. It's mighty windy there.
  13. Sandi, that was the conundrum since I hadn't posted anything since the Care List, hours ago.
  14. Duplicate post. I wondered why it said I had to wait 29 seconds before posting. Is CC acting up?
  15. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I do recycle, in fact it's tomorrow. But they stopped taking glass, as it breaks and gets in the machinery. So we have a big recycle dumpster for glass only behind the borough building. I like bundt cakes but haven't made one in a long time. I will be looking in the fridge for anything spoiled, to go out in tomorrow's trash. Good quote. Probably pass on the meal (miso), yes to the drink and wine. I haven't been to Isafjordur. Another nice day, sunny and 58F, going into the 60's. The weekend will be cold. I had a bit better night, with 4.5 hours sleep. My Apple watch said 2.5 but I know I got more, and the Fitbit was accurate. I'm doing laundry today, braving going up and down the steps. I was expecting a FedEx package, supposedly between 11-3, and of course they came early, when I was in the basement. I had to sign, as it's wine. My departed friend Ruth's Mother arrives this evening from the UK. I'll go with BFF to the airport; probably won't go inside due to my walking issues. @sailingdutchy @kochleffel @Vict0riann Welcome back and safe travels to your homes. @StLouisCruisers Thanks for your extensive photo collection! @RedneckBob You calling us old? 😜 @Denise T I hope you like the new doctor. @RMLincoln Safe travels north! You're beginning an exciting new chapter in your lives. @Lady Hudson I hope DH Bill is feeling better soon. @Quartzsite Cruiser Fancy motorhome, with satellite tv and remote control! Thanks for the Iceland photos. @smitty34877 Lovely photo ♥️. @dfish I hope you get some good information at your appointment today. @marshhawk Sorry you're not feeling better. Is there any way to get seen by your PCP since the Pulmonologist cancelled your appointment? @HAL4NOW Nice sunrise photos. @Mtn2Sea Lovely photos. @rafinmd Thanks for the sunrise. I hope you're feeling better. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  17. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I will salute Girls Day and Children's Day. I like some pickles. Interesting quote. The meal looks good. Pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I've been to NZ, but not Timaru. 3 good days in history. Another sunny day, but with temps only up into the mid 50's. I'm sleepy, after another poor night of sleep. I just ate a few chocolate covered espresso beans to try to wake up, as I won't have my coffee until later. I haven't heard back from the Neurosurgery PA. I have PT this afternoon; I'm really only able to do some stretching. I also feel quite unstable on my feet. I will try to do laundry later, but dread the stairs down to the basement. I did just sign with someone to do final yard cleanup and who will do snow removal this winter, and then lawn mowing starting in the spring. @kazu Sorry your arm is sore; it should improve quickly. @Cruzin Terri I'm glad to hear that Jim's knee is less swollen. It sounds like you'll be busy up until time to leave. @dfish Sorry to hear you didn't sleep either last night. Thanks for the recipes. @smitty34877 Thank goodness you were able to get your delivery of medical equipment and meds. @ger_77 I loved that cauliflower too! I haven't had it since childhood. Good deal on the remote starter. You have such a good heart, donating those items. @quilty964 We had a milk box on the porch, that the milk bottles were put into. @Quartzsite Cruiser Lots of organizing for the new motorhome. I had to LOL at winter 50's and 60's. People are in shorts around here at those temps. @rafinmd Your meal looks good. Nice sunrise. @luvteaching I have a pickle ornament on my tree. It is supposedly a German tradition to hide the pickle somewhere on the tree, and the child who finds it gets an extra present! @RMLincoln I hope all is going well with the movers today. @marshhawk I hope you're starting to feel better. @HAL Sailer Thinking of you and DH. @mamaofami Also thinking of Sam and hope he's doing ok. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  19. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. The one musician I know well isn't around to hug. I had to look up pupusa, as I didn't know what it is; I think I'd like it. Sadie Hawkins day was fun in elementary school. Interesting quote. I'd take the meal without coconut (I can do coconut milk, just not shredded coconut). Yes to the drink and wine. I haven't been to Dublin. A cool day in space history. It's another nice day, started at 32F, currently 51F and sunny. As usual, I'm not doing much. Only 2-1/2 hours sleep. At 2:30AM I sent off a message to the Neurosurgery PA asking if there was anything else I could do to ease this terrible pain, until my MRI. This morning I had to stop and sit 3 times just making my coffee. The DM of my DD friend Ruth is coming from the UK on Wednesday. If I go to the airport with BFF, I think I'd have to stay in the car, as I couldn't walk from the parking garage into the terminal without pain and having to stop multiple times. @StLouisCruisers That's good news that Scott is home; he can continue to work on his recovery in a familiar environment. Thanks for the Dublin photos. @Heartgrove That sounds like a fun excursion. @kazu Ivan must be feeling good, to sail over the retaining wall. @Quartzsite Cruiser Great photos of Dublin. And you're picking up the new motorhome today! @RMLincoln Sorry you're not feeling tip-top this morning. It's almost the big day! At the new place you can take your time arranging things, I'd think. Prayers for your niece and her baby. @cruising sister I'm sure your DSIL is thrilled to be able to hold Murphy; continued prayers for her recovery. I hope DGD is better soon. @cunnorl Early best wishes (instead of HBD) for DD tomorrow. @summer slope https://morethangetaways.wordpress.com/ This is Roy's blog. @RedneckBob Welcome back! @Mtn2Sea Nice photos. @durangoscots So sad and difficult about the cats, especially the ones who had to be euthanized. We just had something similar with a hoarder; they took out about 100 cats and another 30 were dead inside. The woman's husband had died, and she was in the hospital; she did surrender them. @Cruising-along Thanks for the Dublin photos. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.
