  1. 1992 Nordic Empress ---- fell in love with cruising -- RCCL brought it back as the Empress of the Seas --- maybe we need to cruise on it again
  2. I sometimes have to get off the elevator when people get on with overly strong scents
  3. Flew Dallas to Ft Lauderdale one time - Airline came on and said normally they board family first but since flight was going to Disneyland area let's face it everybody was family so not doing it --- worked for us as we were just 2 people going on a cruise.
  4. thanks for the info We have told our kids that once we are both gone then take a cruise and drop our urns together in the ocean. Hopefully this will be many years from now. Wife's father was buried at sea a few years ago having served on the Enterprise during WW2 - her mom is nervous about it as "she does not want all the fishes swimming around her".
  5. According to deck plans on Celebrity website it appears 1100 is on deck 10 and not deck 11 on Eclipse
  6. retired when the company basically said "if you are 55 and older and have been here for 20 years or more then take this offer or we will lay you off" - I was 60 and had been there 35 so away I left.
  7. I live in Texas and night before we left for 2 weeks in Hawaii I had to replace my AMX because of fraud. AMX sent to where we were staying in Hawaii - note they did call the place to confirm our reservation before sending via FedEx.
  8. doing a Transatlantic - England to Boston. On cruise critic roll call group chartered bus from London to port and we realized midway we had left our passports in the hotel. Fellow roll call members 2 seats away heard our problems and said another couple in their party was still in London and would be taking the train to the port in a few hours, We called hotel and they went to room and found the passports (a bed pillow had been placed on top of them so we missed them) and said they would give to person for me, Other couple called their friend - he stopped by and picked up the passports and brought them to us at the port. This was before all the beverage packages --- I did buy our new best friends several drinks It sure pays to join the roll calls. We are certainly more careful with the passports now as we both remember this and remind each other of it every time.
  9. I was actually on a flight from DFW to FLL one time - 43 people needed assistance boarding and only 3 needed help getting off.
  10. Yes they do give you a map. Depending on how long you are in port you can do the whole island or only part. Personally for us the cactus distillery is not worth going to (hint: they have a great little micro brewery very near the port). We are doing the carts again in September and will not go beyond the 1000 steps site - after that it is one way and in our opinion but much to see.
  11. Another happy Overlord user here - would use them again
