And that's why it's wonderful that we have choices, and you can just not watch or listen.
Unless of course you're on board at the time. ;) :D

If you could change one thing about how HAL has changed over the years, what would it be? For me it would be to restore the staffing levels in all areas to their former levels.

Will be there with bells (err, horns) on ;) :D

Bon Voyage! :D

Let the games begin! Enjoy your cruise, I know we'll be enjoying it from here :D

All I can say is WOW!:D

Checking in as well.

Maybe the automated "player" pianos. Put your cruise card in the slot ($1 per song) and pick your favorites :D
Yes and maybe they'll have a version of the "Johnny Cab" Driver from Total Recall to act like he's playing it (er, them) ;) :p :D

I have thoroughly all your posts. It made me feel like I was on the trip with you. You wrote the reports so well.
Thank you for taking us along and spending the time and money to do so.

Indeed! Thank you arzz we have enjoyed the journey with you. :)

I appreciate the goods news that I won't starve if I stay on board. :-)
Superstitious - Nah! But then again... Having a broken foot really put a damper on the rest of our cruise that time.

Thank you all for your feedback. At the time we booked GTY was the only option. We feel much better now!

Enjoy your cabin and cruise :D

That's a much smarter setup, with what looks like a door just for the toilet area. On the plan for the Koningsdam, there's no door shown to separate the toilet from the sink, so you'd have to walk by the person there  to get to the rest of the bathroom. Kind of defeats the purpose of the separation of the components.
If you look at the diagram in my post above, there is a entrance door to the "main bathroom" (containing the shower, bathtub and dual lavs) from the sleeping area and another door that separates this from the toilet/dressing area and another door that separates that from the entrance hall giving direct access from the dressing area to the closets in the hall.

Booked a Balcony GTY and just got the cabin assigned. It is VA8114 in the NA, which is right below the restaurant. Would like to know what is the noise level coming from above. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

The area over the cabins is carpeted and never really heard any reports of noise being any kind of prolem in that area.

Smart guy - when he meets repeat cruisers, he wants to see what's so special about HAL - maybe so they keep doing it! ;)
Of course I put in a plug for the fantastic crew, the best I've encountered.
We do the same as he needs to realize this is HAL's single greatest asset.
(Sorry for the thread drift but I am sure the crew on the Koningsdam will be another exceptional group.)

I think he really wants to know what keeps people coming back as he asked me the same question.
In all seriousness he asked us the same question in 2010. Sounds like it may be a concern always on his radar.

I'm not sure how we got to "frozen or fresh" from "farmed or wild". But the info is good. It should be noted that during Alaska cruise season, those Alaska King Crab legs at the ports are usually frozen.
Yes and likely at least a year old. I used to process them many years ago on Kodiak Island.

Thanks again for your efforts. :D
Did you grab it?:D
Yep! and promptly tossed it right out the window :p ;) :D -
I just had the time to view the video on the HAL Blog for the new ship. WOW! That is my initial reaction. For those who see some design influences in the MDR from Celebrity Cruises S-Class ships: Yes. They are there. But, when I sailed on Eclipse, the venue was delightful, noise levels were well controlled, a good experience.
I have not looked at the specific deck plan for the Koningsdam, but my first reaction is that HAL has a winner.
Just, please-please-please-please: do not make the mistake that Princess did with the Royal Princess and Regal Princess in making the standard veranda cabin verandas so narrow as that the chairs have to be placed sideways to the rail in order to be able to sit comfortability on the veranda. You do that; as I have said on the Princess board for Royal and Regal, that is and will be a deal breaker for me.
By my review of the deck plans, some of them do appear to be narrower but others much/somewhat larger than the Vista's/Signatures
Is that per person or for a couple?
Just trying to figure out the day rate per person for the 28 days...
In case I win the lottery, I could maybe spot it to you but I want to know if it's a "deal"....LOL
It was $ 7249 Per Person on top of the fare we have already paid. Perhaps someone bumped their little head?? -
:D
And whom might that be and what would be the answer:D
<Phone ringing>
"Is Stein available, it's Max"
"One moment please."
"Max how can I help you?"
"Hey Stein, the gang down at Cruise Critic are really wanting the skinny on the upcoming Koningsdam itineraries"
"Max, my good friend, you know I have to play those cards a little close to my vest. After all I can't let the few other cruise lines I don't control in on all my future plans..."
"Come on bro, how about a few hints??"
"Good night Max, you know I love ya man ;)...
It's a Bargain!! LOL ..... :D
Can we assume you declined? :)
After much hand wringing (yeah right), YES we did! ;) :D

The easiest tendering you will ever do. Large tenders that are based on the island, roomy, open, lots of seats with easy access. She should be fine, enjoy your cruise :D
