Best mid priced hotels in Ft Lauderdale airport/cruiseport area

I don't have to pay anything but good to hear it was a nice place! But my option to use my cc points is at Comfort Suites on 302 N. Federal Hwy, Dania Beach. Is this a different one? -
I've stayed in many of the mid priced chain hotels near the airport/cruiseport but can't remember exactly which ones. I can use my credit card points for some of them so I'd like opinions on your favorites. I would prefer free airport pickup, free breakfast and free cancelation. Please don't suggest searching this board further...I've spent lots of time here and found nothing. Possible choices include: Hyatt Place, Crown Plaza, The Dalmar, Courtyard, Cambria, Hyatt House, Wyndham Garden, Le Meridien, Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Fairfield Inn & Aloft. TIA!

I'm going to take your advice! The Hearts offer says we'll have a Welcome party where we'll meet our special host so I'll be engaging them!! I often sail solo and one of the best perks of a comped cabin (and any upgraded ones) is that there is no single supplement!! What a deal. So I'll do my best to get an offer. I'm also on a 14 day cruise on the Coral before the Hearts cruise so I'll introduce myself to that host too and engage them.
-
That's me too! I'm on vacation...no need to rush around in the morning (except if I have an early excursion).
-
Princess says 15-25 days but I usually get it 5-10 days before sailing.

I wouldn't tip for just a pot of coffee. I order a pot of coffee, hot milk, eggs, bacon and occasionally fruit or hashbrowns so I tip the employee $2 for the delivery. I love having breakfast on my balcony!

Everytime I've ordered that sandwich the egg was cooked hard...like a flattened hard boiled egg. 🤮

I'm shocked at how expensive the Princess excursions have gotten! Everytime I've been in San Juan I took the free trolley out to the fortress then to the cathedral. After that I strolled back to the ship. Last time I was there, I found a flea market set up at a small park and it was fun to look around. There was also a nice coffee shop near the ship.

I sometimes play in the afternoon but usually from 7-9pm. I just play slots and the only employees I've ever seen are waiters taking drinks to passengers. I didn't even realize there were other staff there. I never go to the tables. Oh well, guess I'll just have to go with my daughter on her comp cruises. 😉

Interesting idea about medallions. But how do you "engage" the staff when playing slots?? That's all either of us does. She participated in a slots tournament but didn't win.

Will try that as I don't like Traditional. If I were going solo, I'd just eat in the buffet, but my 19 yr old granddaughter will be with me and she likes the MDR. But she might not like Traditional at 5pm...too early (but 7:30p is too late). I'm glad I was able to book the other cruise in flexible as I got every night at 6pm at a private table. -
I just wish they'd send me an offer! My daughter and I spent about the same in the casino, but they gave her free drinks while there and now she gets all these offers. I got nothing! Can't figure out what to do differently. My next cruise is Nov, 2025, then the casino offer cruise is Feb, 2026. Anyone have suggestions on how to get offers? I've been Elite for 5 years, not that it may matter.
-
I think that sandwich sucks! Lol. I'd suggest just keep trying and maybe it'll work eventually. I love breakfast as soon as I get up but by the time I get ready to leave the cabin, I'm starving. And I like to sit on the balcony for awhile in the morning.

It took me 3 phone calls over several weeks to get Princess to send me a check for my $14 in refundable obc. No, I'm not so poor that it would cause me to suffer, but it's the principle that it's my money and not theirs! Do they wait awhile to send it so maybe passengers will forget or not want to bother with numerous phone calls? Idk, but they could financially benefit from doing that. BTW, I tried to get the money back on the cruise but they said that the ship won't give any obc refunds...you have to get it by a check in the mail.

Are you sure that MDR reservations are linked to final payment? Last month I booked a cruise for November, 2025 with final payment in Aug, 2025 and was already able to book traditional dining (wanted flexible but supposedly no spots open). I just booked a Feb, 2026 sailing and paid in full (casino deal) and the Allegro flexible dining had all time slots open so I got 6pm every night! -
Wow...guess they like to literally stick to the rules! I'm also Elite but no matter what type of cabin I'm in, I always get whatever I write on the hanger tag. No one's ever said a thing. And, surprisingly, they bring the breakfast promptly at whatever time I request it for. I love getting a pot of coffee and hot milk so I can read or knit on my balcony for awhile while my coffee stays hot.

We found where the offers are in her account. She has 3 offers, each has different dates, and she can use each one 3 times. She gets emails and flyers for the same offers, which seems financially wasteful. She got a new one yesterday but we're going to book the Hearts deal cuz it has lots of perks. We're going to upgrade the cabin to a deluxe balcony since it's so cheap and I don't like inside cabins. That Hearts deal is only good on 8 cruises but yesterdays offer is good on many more cruises.
-
My daughter said she got an email offer this past week and then this "Heart Perks" flyers yesterday. The flyers deal is only offered on 8 cruises but we may go on one of them. Taxes/fees for both of us is $380 plus the $400 deposit which becomes OBC. Also includes some type of dining experience and other goodies. Not bad.

I get breakfast via the free door hanger nearly every morning on all my cruises...I get everything I write in. Always get a pot of coffee, hot milk and Splenda. Usually order an omelet, fried or scrambled eggs, crispy bacon or hashbrowns. I tip the deliverer $2-3 and they're very prompt.

My daughter joined me on the first leg of a B2B 4 months ago which was just 6 days. We both visited the casino in the evenings and neither of us spent a fortune. She's been getting cabin comp/free play offers several times a week (email and flyers) since getting home but I've never gotten any! I've signed up for casino offers and notifications but my daughter never did. She's only been on Princess twice but I'm Elite. I'm wondering if she gets offers as they try to get her back, whereas they already know I'm a loyal customer. She isn't able to use any of the casino offers but I'd love to get them!! Non-transferable unfortunately.

He didn't say how he found this info out (whether it was printed on the hang tag or not) but just told me about the charge. He said they didn't want any canapés but did call to order the afternoon tea in their cabin and were informed of the service charge. In December I called to order tea in the cabin and there wasn't a charge...and I didn't have a package. Elite benefits are for all Elites, with or without a package.
-
A friend who's currently on the Regal said there's a $5 service charge to receive the canapés on formal night and also a $5 service charge to have afternoon tea in your cabin. This must be fairly new as I wasn't charged for either in December, 2024 on the Caribbean Princess. I don't particularly care about either of these perks, but it seems like they're gradually taking away the benefits of the Elite loyalty level.
