  1. Try French Market Inn or Place D'Armes. Request a ground floor room.
  2. You really can't go wrong with just about any restaurant in NOLA, except for a few that I always warn people to stay away from : Oceana, Gumbo Shop, Mothers and Court of Two Sisters. Thy are all pretty nasty tourist traps. Try Meril, Irene's, Willa Jean, Peche, Cochon, Cochon Butcher, Eat, Superior Seafood, Atchafayla, Dat Dog, Guy's po'Boys

    Tour with Blexie

    We had Jorge as our guide too, he actually is a professor at the University, he studied a lot of history, he really knows his stuff! I printed out Blexie's standard itinerary and added a few things, Jorge was happy to oblige! This was the itinerary I put together: PART ONE: Walking tour around old colonial section of Havana 4 Main Squares · Plaza de Armes · Plaza Vieja · Plaza de an Francisco de Assisi · Plaza de Catedral Castilo de la Real Fureza Backstreets of Old Havana (suitable for Humanitarian purpose- gift giving) Break for lunch at a Palador (private restaurant)(Optional) PART TWO: Drive along the Malecon area to Nacional Hotel · Bunkers underneath hotel Fusterlandia El Bosque de la Habana Cristobal Colon Cemetary John Lennon Park (Statue 17th & 6th) Plaza de Revolution Drive to down town area Capitol Building · Central Park Grand Theatre of Havana- Need to see at night too Bacardi Building
  4. Santa maria del Mar is about 20-30 minutes from Havana. You can take a taxi there. No charge for the beach. There are several hotels in the area and some restaurants and bars.
