  1. Ship happens when cruising during hurricane season. When the Joy was in Bermuda, could anyone get off of the ship?
  2. I am sapphire and my husband is gold. He is now Platinum, after our last cruise. We were given 1 free bag of laundry, and 1 $29.00 bag on the Aug. 20---30 cruise on the Joy.
  3. We got one by asking our steward . Actually, I think that balcony cabins and upward are entitled to have them.. Coffee makers should remain in the rooms without being removed. I also thought that we are entitled to robes, but there were none.
  4. I remember having to stand on a crowded open deck, and watch a crewmember go through the motions of putting on a life vest. He wouldn't begin his demonstration until all the passengers assigned to our section were present and accounted for. In later times, we did the muster call in the theater or a restaurant. This was somewhat better, because we could sit. Yeah, Once or twice to watch the video at home should be enough. Life vests used to be stored in the cabin closet. We didn't find any there on our last cruise.
  5. To avoid any hassles with Jewelry purchases, buy from your local jeweler.
  6. I printed ours today, for an August 20 cruise.
  7. Resort casual always works on NCL cruises. I'm glad that Formal Night has gone the way of the do do bird, but my husband and I will wear nicer clothing for dinner.
  8. Insurance is not mandatory, but is recommended. One never knows what could happen.
  9. I'm sure that you can arrange something with the drivers who line up ready to take passengers for excursions. Your time will be limited, so plan very carefully. Keep travel time in mind. You need to be back on board the ship at least 1 half hour before sailaway. Another option would be a ship-trip. They get you there and back on time, and if they run late, the ship will wait for you. Not always the case with private tours.
  10. I am upset about the observation lounge being broken up. Years ago, NCL removed the Spinnaker Lounge from the Dawn, and replaced it with suites. The lounge was moved to the stern of the ship and has very few windows. Customers complained, so the Dawn's sister ship was not renovated like that. We like our observation lounges. Please leave them alone.
  11. I heard that stewards can provide extra hangers. Just ask.
