  1. I lived in the Washington, DC area and was a Redskins fan and the Eagles were our most disliked team.

Still, when I wanted to take my Son to see the Atlanta Braves vs. the Phillies back in the 90s, a friend of my, who was from Philly warned us not to wear any Braves t-shirts or hats. He said, particularly if the Phillies lose, the fans might take it out on you and your Son. He was a Phillies fan.

We went to the game and I defiantly wore my Braves hat and got some nasty looks, but the Phillies won the game and we were not attacked.

A friend of mines cousin went to a Flyers game wearing a Capitals jersey. An idiot 4 or 5 rows behind him threw a $14 beer at him. Missed him and hit a little girl there with her family. She was really crying. Threw the jerk out of the game.

  2. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer wouldn't even do an interview with the Fox announcers after the lost. Really showed no class , it's no wonder his players acted like they did at the end of the game. What poor losers they were.

    Jimbo:)

Classless? How about fans throwing beer bottles at Vikings fan, shouting profanity? But of course it's Philadelphia fans. Worst fans in sports. They are classless.

  3. What are the chances of getting a spot on a "walk in" at about 1pm? I am looking for a lunch/beach spot for after my Mayan ruins tour.

I posted this above. We are doing the Native Choice tour and will be back around 1. I emailed Steve to see if he could reserve a spot for us. He checks the schedule for ships that day and will let you know yes or no.

  4. We will be going on a RCI oasis cruise in June. We have figured out our Bahamas and St Maarten excursions but need help with St Thomas. We will have an 11 and 7 year old we are looking to take on some kind of snorkeling trip. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Take the ferry over to St. John and go to Trunk Bay. Beautiful beach and reef trail you can follow.

  5. So, my brother was killed in the bus crash. While it is true that accidents happen, I think it is very important for Royal to investigate what happened and why. The crash appears to have been the result of driver error (not really an accident) and so there are important questions that should be answered before trusting passengers are placed in the care of this bus company. Was the driver properly licensed and trained? Was the bus company providing adequate oversight? Have there been complaints about this driver, or this bus company? Is the time frame for the tour realistic, or are drivers being pressured to speed to save time? It will take time to answer these questions. Until Royal is confident they have done everything they can to ensure the safety of their guests it is their duty to suspend that excursion.

Having said that, I have been to Chacchoben twice: once on a ship sponsored tour and once with Native Choice. I would recommend taking Native Choice tour if you really want to go. The ruins are beautiful.

So sorry for your loss. A terrible tragedy.

  6. Thanks everyone. We will bring everything we have just to be on the safe side. Passport, school ID, permit if he doesn't have his license or license if he gets it before we leave. His passport doesn't expire until 8/2019. Here in PA he's supposed to have 65 hours driving time with an adult. We are at about 45 so have a ways to go yet.

  7. We are booked on the AM tour with Native Choice (9am). Does anyone know what time we will arrive back at the port? I know it says 4 hrs but I am hoping for some actual reports.

I am hoping to still get some beach time in. Would there still be time to get over to Blue Kay or another beach?

We are booked on a 9 am tour just like you in April. As I don't know what exact time we will be back I did email Native Choice about dropping us off at Tropicante. They said it would be no problem to do so. I emailed Tropicante and they reserved a spot for us. It will be only a few hours but we plan on eating lunch and maybe getting a massage and some time in the ocean.

  8. RC cancelled our cruise sponsored excursion for next week but fortunately, I was able to book the same through Native Choice for less, I might add. Learned my lesson. We are arriving at noon in port and tour starts at 1:00pm 1/14. Can someone who has done this tour recently tell us what kind of wardrobe we should plan on? We were thinking jeans. Thanks for your help!

    J

Can't answer your question about what to wear except I would wear sneakers. We are doing this in April with Native Choice. We arrive at 8 and tour starts at 9am. Why did RCI cancel it? I know there was a bus accident a few weeks ago but accidents happen everywhere.

  9. Bodden tours. Our guide was Dolie (not sure if I spelled it right but it’s pronounced like Dolly but with a long O). He was excellent, born and raised there and was a room steward for Royal Caribbean and other cruise lines for 30 years.

Personally I would skip the long drive through the east side of the island unless you really want to see the everyday life of the inhabitants of Roatan. It gave everyone in our party a welcome appreciation how good we have it here in the US. Wonderful people but a very poor area.... and lots of pot holes :)

Our cruise director was Drew Divine.

    Dan

Thank you. We are going with Bodden also.

  10. I don't understand why RCI would cancel the ruins tour because of the bus crash a few weeks ago. We are doing this tour but through Native Choice. Accidents happen unfortunately. We saw they get good reviews. I would go with them and cancel the Chitchen Itza tour in Cozumel. It's a very long trip to see the ruins for about an hour. Go have a beach day on Cozumel.
