Thomson Celebration A Reason to Celebrate by Katomerikaf

We went on Celebration for a two week cruise in the Caribbean – Paradise Islands/Tropical Delights. We left our cases in Manchester airport and didn't see them again until they were delivered to our cabin - same in reverse on our journey home and this made for a much more relaxing journey. Azura Christmas and New Year on Azura 2015 by winniesbestm8

Well we are back from our Azura Christmas cruise (flew out 25th Dec from Manchester on the dreamliner). I was going with an open mind as we usually do, we have sailed on Ventura and oceana and a few other cruise lines prior to p&o. I was hoping we would like Azura as we loved Ventura. I have to say that this was the best cruise by far for us, it even beat our cruise around the Caribbean for our honeymoon 10 years ago, and we had our two young children and my mum with us. Costa Mediterranea Well we loved it! by Roberta Walker

I was not going to do a review of this cruise but having read some of the comments on here felt that I had to. We have done 20 cruises on various cruise lines now but we started our cruise adventures back in 1997 on the Thomson Sapphire and over the years have done 9 Thomson cruises. Like every cruise line there are pros and cons but without any shadow of doubt the one thing that Thomson do better than any other is entertainment (IMHO). Continue reading... Queen Victoria Luxury cruise with an infant by annarack

We had sailed with Cunard a couple of year's ago on QM2, however this was our first voyage on Queen Victoria, or with an infant! My husband and I booked this cruise with our 8 month old daughter for a short winter break and to try out Cunard with children. We drove to Southampton to meet the ship and used the port's valet parking service which was incredibly well organised and smooth. This made it so easy to embark, despite all our luggage and baby kit. Continue reading... Luxury cruise with an infant

Arcadia Arcadia J521 for Xmas and New Year in the Caribbean by kersh

We departed Southampton for sunnier climes on Saturday 19 December. Unfortunately P & O did not get the boarding right for priority pax and it was a complete shambles. They just hadn't taken account of the large number of suites on Arcadia as well as the larger than average number of Ligurian pax as it was a long Xmas cruise, and then the ship not being ready to board at the usual time. The priority area is quite small and probably only about 70 % of pax had a seat. Continue reading... Arcadia J521 for Xmas and New Year in the Caribbean

Magellan Five star service at three star price! by annscullamus

We have just returned from the Christmas Markets Cruise on Magellan embarking from Tilbury on December 16th. As a regular cruiser with Cunard, Princess and Fred Olson this was a bit of an experiment ! I had persuaded a sea phobic friend to accompany me as a taster, so much rode on the experience. I had read many poor reviews so I was full of trepidation. Continue reading... Five star service at three star price!

    Oriana Wonderful by Kaceyseal

This was our sixth cruise with P&O. We are aged 61. I have to disagree with the negative reviews of this ship. I will try and provide the information that I found useful. We love the Oriana. Yes, it's an old ship, due for a re-fit next year, but she has the feel of an old fashioned liner, something we both like. Continue reading... Wonderful

Thomson Spirit Very pleasantly suprised by archy789

Booked a week sailing the Aegean on Thomson Spirit, the flights and tranfers were very good and well co-ordinated at the port very quickly through check in and onto the ship. Yes the ship is old and some of the furnishing is a bit worn but not too an excess and everywhere was clean and tidy. The dining in the Compass rose was pleasant and the freedom dining was a new experience for us and nice to meet new people, Continue reading... Very pleasantly suprised

Thomson Celebration First Time by philgard

Brilliant introduction to cruising. As it was our first time we had no idea what to expect and after the initial traumatic problems of getting on board from Malaga we were sure we had made a big mistake. We were made to queue for almost two hours in a underground car park a Malaga airport as there were simply not enough coaches to transfer passengers. Continue reading... First Time

Britannia Review of Britannia by Cruisers555

Review on the P&O ship Britannia, on our voyage from Barbados 5th December 2015. We have had previously sailed on Royal Caribbean Jewel of the seas, Vision of the seas, Adventure of the seas and Independence of the seas. Also Princess cruises Grand Princess. So we are comparing the Britannia with these ships. Continue reading... Review of Britannia

Thomson Dream Thomson retains its high standard by trinity-c

First let me say I have cruised with several, very different, cruise lines - Cunard (on the old QE2), P&O, Norwegian, Celebrity (twice), Airtours (20 years ago they briefly dipped their toe in the cruise market and we were lucky enough to get an introductory offer) and Thomson (5 times) and it is important not to try and compare. Yes Celebrity have newer ships which we love but that doesn't mean Thomson ships are inferior, just different. Continue reading... Thomson retains its high standard

AMA Serena Romantic Danube by RJHNorthyorks

This was our first river cruise after many ocean cruises so some of our views may be influenced by this. We travelled independently to Prague but purchased the AMA transfer from Prague to the boat in Vilshofen. The transfer left the Hilton Old Town at 8 am stopping for a a lunch break and guided walk in Regensberg. The boat was lovely and immaculate. Our balcony cabin on deck 2 was very comfortable with just enough space. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was one of the best we have seen on a ship. Continue reading... Queen Mary 2 My First Ever Cruise! by Jaynehealey

What a great way to cruise for the very first time on this beautiful great ocean liner. This ship is huge and very Grand. It's built for this crossing of the the North Atlantic. I would of normally chosen a warmer destination with smooth crossing but this holiday was a gift. Of course the ship has some movement but because of the size and design of it, the crossing was only a little rocky in places. Continue reading... My First Ever Cruise!

Arcadia Better than expected by Garg

My wife and I were a little aprehensive after reading reports from some critic sites of the supposed 'Arcadia Cough', to the point of our considering a cancellation. There was no sign of it during the whole cruise which proves that you should not always believe what you read. I think too many people, on some sites, only do a review when they have something to dragcomplain about. I notice this apears not to be the case with Cruise Critic! Continue reading... Marco Polo Go with the right attitude and you will have a great time by troath

My husband and I recently returned from a wonderful cruise around the Baltic on the Marco Polo. I had great reservations because of reviews I had read and almost made a decision to cancel the trip. How wrong I would have been so don’t take all the negative comments too seriously. This trip provided great value for money. Sure, it’s not a five star ship but was more than adequate. I would suggest we had one of the smallest cabins on the ship, which I wouldn’t recommend – but even that worked out ok by only using the cabin to sleep and having the right attitude. Thomson Majesty FANTASTIC VALUE FOR MONEY!!!!! by Nick and Pat from Lincoln

Having cruised with Thomson before many times over the last 12 years beginning our cruise experience on the Sundream which started our love of cruising we were worried about reading some of the many derogatory reviews of Thomson Majesty. OK it was only a week booked fairly last minute that cost us £720.00 each. The cabin was small but beautifully designed and laid out with the best powerful shower wet room style that we have ever experienced on a cruise in an inside cabin. Continue reading... Thomson Celebration Holyland Cruise on Thomson Celebration Experience by Bad2dbone

This was my sixth cruise overall and my fourth cruise with Thomson but first time on the Celebration. The ship is dated and many passengers complained about vibrations and noise but our interior cabin on one of the lower decks was fine. It was spacious, clean and pleasant. I think it was passengers on the higher decks who complained about the noise and vibrations and people in the cheapest cabins on lower decks were fine so it really doesn't pay to splash out on a cabin on a higher deck on the Celebration. Rhapsody of the Seas Not sure why I worry about reviews! by debbieg14

This was my first cruise. I wasn't sure what to expect. However I read a lot of reviews ideas etc We arrived easily at the pier . Had a mooch about and found our outside cabin. Loved the ship . All clean tidy and the crew seemed lovely. Cabin much bigger than I thought. Twin beds and bathroom of course small but fine in size. Shower lovely and all spotless. Please not both American and European plugs. Food I'm windjammer plentiful hot and amazing choice. We had breakfast and the strawberry compote was incredible with my pancakes ! Lunch great and again plenty of choice. Always seats available. Yes busy at main times but obviously it will be Continue reading... Not sure why I worry about reviews!

Magellan Land of the Northern Lights by Parsman

Although I cruise regularly this was my first time on the Cruise & Maritime Voyages "Magellan. The cruise was entitled "land of the Northern Lights". The ship called in Amsterdam for sightseeing and to pick up Dutch passengers. The ship sailed from Tilbury, a port I haven't used for many years. Although not the most attractive cruise terminal the boarding procedure was one of the most swif and efficient I have encountered. The time between my arrival at the terminal and boarding the ship was less than 20 minutes. My luggage arrived at my cabin a few minutes later. Continue reading... Land of the Northern Lights

Thomson Dream Very Pleasant Cruise by dado

Fourth time on the dream and how better can it get. First I must say they have now finally got the excursions team sorted out with a new manager that's well organised with a good team. We did 5 tours in total out of 6 ports and all went smoothly. The food was up to a good standard in the Orion main restaurant and found no need to go to the other pay a supplement ones. Used the Lido for quick snacks fine for that. Entertainment in the Broadway show lounge is great and of a professional quality lead by a good cruise director that introduced a little comedy in to the procedures. Continue reading... Aegean Odyssey Do not hesitate to book, it was fabulous!! by Jo66

I booked this cruise last year and then worried after reading the reviews below so went fearing the worst. However my concerns were un necessary. The ship is great. It is beautifully clean and the crew worked tirelessly to keep everything spick and span. The cabin was comfortable, the beds (twin) were quite narrow, although the single cabins had huge beds!! No the cabins were not huge but having seen those with balconies i would say these were a great size. The bathrooms were great, huge walk in shower. We were on the lido deck cabin 820. The food was very good. Lots of choice and very good spaghetti bolognaise. I cannot praise the staff enough, the cabin lady Loretta was great. Continue reading... Voyager An Excellent Cruise with an Excellent Cruise Line by tring

This cruise visited five ports in Turkey and five in Greece, a number of which were ports that are not visited by the larger cruise ships and all of which were interesting ports. Our flights, from Manchester, were arranged by the cruise company and were both on scheduled airlines - Turkish airlines to Istanbul and Aegean Airlines back to Manchester. Both were excellent with far more leg room than is provided on charter flights and a full meal service was provided with complimentary drinks. We were able to check in online prior to the flight out and were able to use the self service check in machines at Piraeus airport which had the facility to confirm our allocated seats, or to change them for any available seat on the plane using the seat plan (which we did). Thomson Dream FANTASTIC by sueoreilly

My family and I ( kids 20 and 13) had the best holiday ever on the Thomson Dream. compared to all the other ships that we docked next to, I admit it looked very small. The staff were fantastic, happy and so helpful. The rooms were spotless. the food was hot and enjoyable. We paid a few times to eat in the themed restaurant's which were well worth the extra money. we did not go to the captains dinner as it is not our thing, and in all but one restaurant my husband and son wore dress shorts, shirts and loafers and it was acceptable. Oceana Good Itinerary, Nice Ship by optipessi

A one week cruise on the Oceana, starting in Genoa and finishing in Venice. Embarkation was smooth and hassle free and luggage arrived within minutes of accessing our cabin. The inside, Level F cabin was surprisingly spacious, clean and our service person was excellent. It was generally quiet but being next to one of the service storerooms was a bit noisy early morning but not a problem. We had set dining in the Adriatic, a table for 8, all other cruisers were good company, the food was good without being exceptional, one side of the menu was the same each day while the other side changed, from memory 3 starters, a soup, 4 main courses (one vegetarian) and 3 desserts plus cheese and biscuits. Black Watch Thoroughly enjoyable by wnesbitt

My mother - mid 70s - and I in my late forties sailed from Belfast, for the Scandanavian capitals cruise, including Talinn and St Petersburg. Cabin: Deck 3 outside, twin bed cabin. Totally satisfied with our cabin. Plenty of room, kept beautifully clean by Vanessa our cabin steward; who also performed in the crew shows. And plenty of storage space for our clothes and bits and pieces. Dressing table, chair; table and tub chair - large shower; hair drier and tv. Hospitality tray, though we never used it once, so much food on offer, plus a permanent tea and coffee station outside the restaurant. Continue reading... Thoroughly enjoyable

Magellan GOOD SHIP MAGELLAN by Travelholic2

We have just returned from an autumn Fjords cruise on Magallen. We are over 60s and quite difficult to please so I would like to dispel all the negative comments about this ship. We really enjoyed our cruise due to all the high standards on board and the amazingly friendly and efficient staff. The whole ship was spotlessly clean and, although an older ship, was run run absolutely efficiently. Continue reading... GOOD SHIP MAGELLAN

Thomson Celebration Five star customer service by cherylparkin

I was a little worried about booking onto the Celebration, having been more used to the larger P&O Ventura. However, the smaller ship and the whole first-time Thomson experience exceeded my expectations. We had a balcony cabin on deck 5. It was perfectly located as the Coffee Port was about 6 steps away and it was so convenient having the rest that deck 5 has to offer on our doorstep. In future I would choose these balcony cabins rather than the ones on deck 9. Continue reading... Five star customer service

Azura Fantastic Norwegian Fjords Cruise on the Azura by Jradford

This was our first cruise on P&O as we have previously cruised with Carnival, Thompson and Princess. We chose to go from Southampton this time as Mum has recently moved in with us, after losing Dad in January this year and we wanted to give her the cruise experience. Mum has never flwon before so we reluctantly opted for P&O from Southampton. Well we had a fantastic time. Continue reading... Fantastic Norwegian Fjords Cruise on the Azura

Myself and my partner spent a fantastic week on the dream. Well organised at the airport and a swift trip to the ship. Embarkation was speedy and efficient and the bags were delivered to our cabin within 20 minutes of boarding. Inside cabin was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was spotless. Plenty of hanging space and space to store our luggage. Our steward maintained the room to a high standard twice a day with turndown and chocolates in the evening. I ordered a bottle of sparkling wine which was waiting for us on arrival. Continue reading... Moorish delights

Viking Legend A great way to visit the Danube by PaulG47

This was my first river cruise, based on my wife's recommendation, she did the Moscow to St. Petersburg cruise last year with a friend. From the moment we boarded on the first day to reluctantly leaving on the last day we received 5 star treatment, nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, the food was tasty and well presented (I'm a fussy eater) and gave you a flavour, pun intended, of the area being visited. Continue reading... This was our 4th cruise and our 3rd with Celebrity. The other 3 were in the Mediterranean so we wanted to do somewhere different. Fantastic cruise on the Danube to celebrate my birthday. Excellent ship - crew very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Ship spotlessly clean, good sized French balcony cabin with very comfy bed. Plenty of good food and wine - dining available in the main restaurant or buffet style on the Aquavit Terrace. Only negative was the Taste of Austria dinner which was a bit chaotic with starters, mains and desserts all buffet style at the central area. Continue reading... Superb Birthday Cruise

Thomson Majesty Adriatic Charms and The Italian Job by swansong49

We have just returned from a two week cruise aboard Thomson Majesty. We had a fantastic holiday and bar a few minor problems, can only praise the crew, service and itineraries. Yes, the Majesty is getting a little old, but she is kept extremely clean and comfortable. The entertainment team, in keeping with the Thomson tradition, excel themselves and provide first-class, professional shows in the Jubilee Lounge. In the Royal Fireworks, we enjoyed the quizzes and silly games. The seats here are also comfy, so you could sit back with a cocktail or two and have a good laugh. Continue reading... Voyager of the Seas Immersion in Asian culture, including on the boat by AJackson

The passengers were 90% Chinese, although of course this was not a homogeneous group (roughly half were from Hong Kong). The overall feeling on the boat was different to other cruises we have experienced: certainly noisier, and less well mannered, with flip flops and shorts in the dining room, including on formal nights. However, Chinese passengers did seem to be making an effort, and a difference (in volume) was noticeable by the end of the cruise. Also, it was enjoyable to see people excited by aspects we might have taken for granted. Continue reading... Immersion in Asian culture, including on the boat

Ventura Our first perfect cruise by Bentson

I don't normally leave reviews, but feel that I need to on this occasion for the benefit of first time cruisers like ourselves. After booking our cruise from Southampton to Gurnsey, Portugal and Spain I went online to read reviews and comments...I wish I hadn't as I felt quite disappointed and nervous due to the negative comments and complaints. I guess some people are hard to please and can find fault with anything....my nervousness was immediately put to rest from the moment we boarded Ventura. Continue reading... I have been on a few cruises with different cruise lines, including: Royal Caribbean, P&O, Thompson and Carnival. Disney Dream definitely topped them all! We are a couple in our 20's and it was my partners first cruise. Obviously we were both slightly apprehensive that a Disney ship in summer, we would be surrounded by wild, excited children. This wasn't a problem. The children's clubs were so vast and exciting, most children were well entertained and the adults only sections are the best I've came across at sea! Continue reading... Caribbean Princess Two weeks of bliss! by broadhurstbob

This was our second cruise with Princess and first time on Caribbean Princess, we were also going to try the all-inclusive drinks package. Although we have cruised the Mediterranean many times this trip included three new ports for us, Livorno for Florence, Genoa and Marseille. This was July and we expected it to be hot, we were not disappointed. The trip was calm and smooth apart from one bumpy night. Continue reading... Two weeks of bliss!

Britannia Excellent holiday, could do better in some areas by Mossa14

We booked our cruise on Britannia in October, looking forward to a real summer holiday for a change. Real, being one where you can soak up the sun and swim in an outdoor pool. This was our third cruise, all with P&O. We live in Southampton, and from leaving home by taxi to being in our cabin was 1 hour 15 minutes. We turned up at our allotted time and only waited 30 minutes before being on board. There is no doubt it is a big ship, but we had done our homework, choosing a forward outside balcony cabin with only cabins above and below. The glass balcony makes everything look a little more spacious, what can be better than waking up, opening the curtains and being able to see the entire view from our bed. Continue reading... Anthem of the Seas Can we keep Anthem in the UK, please? by motif

Well, Anthem of the Seas appears to polarise opinions! This review is firmly in the "we loved it" camp. We were sailing as a party of 7 across 3 staterooms, including 1 accessible stateroom. I'll break my review into sections so that it is easier to find the info you want. Dining e (4 of us) were on Dynamic Dining Classic, which is where we were rotated between the 4 complimentary restaurants with the same wait staff. I was surprised with the quality of the food that came out of the galleys. It was superb. And hot (just like us Brits like). I can understand the comments about slow service. Continue reading... Britannia Good Time on Britannia by RoseGab123

My husband and I have just returned from a really good holiday to the Fjords. Embarkation was instant, no waiting around in terminal. Enjoyed the ship and didn't find it too big once we found our way around. Liked the contemporary design of the ship and all the different venues for entertainment and eating. Continue reading... Explorer of the Seas Wonderful Cruise by Vivsworld

We chose this cruise so our 18 year old son could join us, and yes there were children on board because it was school holidays!!! The children we saw were well behaved, and having a great time with their families. Royal Caribbeans policy of no children in the nightclub after 10 pm works a treat (P&O take note!!) the staff on board went out of their way to be friendly. The entertainment team were energetic in encouraging people to join in. Continue reading... Wonderful Cruise

AmaLyra Trains and boats and planes ... but no cricket! by jaxgang

CRICKET was not exactly top of the agenda on APT’s “Magnificent Tour of Europe” river cruise from July 28 to August 11. From a passenger list of 150, more than a hundred were Australians and their heroes were getting bashed unmercifully by the Poms at Trent Bridge and Edgbaston. Another thirty were New Zealanders, who nodded in complete approval, and the rest the were British who knew when to keep relatively quiet. Continue reading... Britannia Superb! by Travel addic

We have just returned from a week in the Norwegian Fjords on Britannia and had a brilliant time. The ship is very impressive. Having never cruised before we did not really know what to expect but we were certainly not disappointed. Embarkation was very organised and there were plenty of staff to point you in the right direction. Our cabin was very well equipped with a lovely big comfy bed and was immaculately clean. We had a decent sized fridge, a large flat screen TV and a shower large than most hotel rooms I have stayed in. Continue reading... Superb!

Brilliance of the Seas Wonderful memories of amazing places by matthewbaty

After several years bringing up young children, working busy jobs, generally getting older, more tired and fatter, this was a much anticipated 1st real holiday for us and the children. We got our first taste of cruising on Serenade of the Seas in Alaska in 2005 and loved the experience of seeing some pretty inhospitable but interesting places from the comfort of a floating hotel. The Baltic Cruise seemed like a fantastic option for us- leaving from Harwich, visiting countries that possess intrigue and rich history without a searing hot sun to exhaust us and render our fair complexions charred. Thomson Majesty Read this before negative reviews!!! by Ajs1993

I have just returned from this cruise with my parents and 2 younger brothers and just wanted to write a review to describe how absolutely brilliant it was!!! I read a lot of negative reviews before going and it worried me a lot as my whole family were so excited and this was our first cruise. Corfu is a lovely place and the flight there/check in to the cruise was all very smooth and pleasant. Our bags were waiting for us at our cabin doors and our cabin, an outside plus on deck 3, was a lovely room. Continue reading... Read this before negative reviews!!!

Norwegian Epic Norwegian Epic : First cruise - not our last! Wonderful by Matt@320

We were first time cruisers on a Western Med cruise from Barcelona on NCL's Norwegian Epic. It exceeded all our hopes and expectations and we have already put down a deposit on a future cruise. We chose NCL because of their Freestyle Cruising proposition - no formal dress codes, fixed dining etc. - it was definitely the right choice for us. We are a married couple travelling with our 16 year old son. We had been worried about space in our stateroom, a large balcony, class B6, but needn't as the room was big enough and we had more storage space than needed. Continue reading... Queen Mary 2 Excellent Trip by fiomar

We were on the same cruise as Stu and Karl and indeed were their table companions. Whilst I agree with much that they said I think that the food was better than they imply, we found that there was always a reasonable choice of dishes and with the exception of one dessert really enjoyed all the meals and felt they compared well with the best restaurants around where we live, Surrey and the Scottish Highlands. Room service and food in the Sir Samuel coffee bar were also excellent and the afternoon tea was a highlight of our trip on several days. Continue reading... Excellent Trip

Thomson Majesty Thomson Majesty 2015 - Adriatic Charms - Teen's Perspective by MatthewSam

After traveling onboard the Island Escape ship in 2014, I had a good understanding of what made a good cruise. I can tell you right off the bat; the Thomson Majesty excels on every level. We embarked the ship on the 17th of July 2015 to do the Adriatic Charms route around the Mediterranean, which consisted of going to Greece, Italy, Croatia and Albania. My first impression of the ship was a relatively good one. The exterior of the ship is very athstetically pleasing, featuring an all white paint job with splashes of red and blue on the main funnel. Azura Strictly Fabulous!!! by Gillypat

This was a" Strictly Come Dancing ", themed Cruise. We are not dancers and this was our first ever cruise! Having read the mixed reviews about the Azura and P and O in general I was worried that we had made the wrong choice. Just so that readers may know that our opinions were not biased by the cost of our cruise I will say that we paid select price and chose a cabin C328 because it had a larger balcony. We arrived at port easily Having stayed the night at the Holiday Inn Express just outside Southampton. Continue reading... Strictly Fabulous!!!

Norwegian Jade Great Holiday on Jade by Magicdi

We had a great holiday in the eastern Mediterranean on the Jade. We initially chose the Jade because of the itinerary as we have done the Western Med several times'. There was several other cruise lines we could have picked but when booking in January the Jade was by far the best value and offered the premium drinks package and premium dining package which was fabulous value, as we do like our cocktails, beers and wine and trying out different dining each night. Oriana Brilliant mini break by Pepsiokay

We read some less than shining reviews about Oriana and her crew so we wanted to set the record straight from our point of view! It's just our opinion but I hope it helps someone make a more balanced decision. We had a brilliant four days away from home! Sailing to Brugge and Amsterdam. The ship is older, and smaller than some. Although you wouldn't know it. Some areas need a refit or a spruce up but every where you go it's well maintained and clean! The Pacific Lounge has a charm about it, like a time warpy charm back to the 80s, and ideally P&O would stop their practice of cramming the Headliners in there to perform the abba show... But it was still a good watch! Continue reading... Brilliant mini break

Viking Star The river joins the ocean with a splash by cbarryt

Viking would be a leading contender for our next itinerary. Most elements of our cruise were positive and we found no fault worth mentioning. The experience on this voyage was an excellent combination of value, quality service, comfort, good cabin size, good logistics, as well as good shore excursions. We particularly liked the availability of a buffet dining venue, in addition to a conventional, open-seating restaurant and some specialty dining, all of good quality. The dress code is relaxed. Seven Seas Voyager Great Ship and Wonderful Ports by maynas

I have long wanted to visit St Petersburg and revisit some of the old Baltic ports I visited 10-20 years ago on business and see more of them at leisure. This cruise was perfect, with 2 overnights in St Petersburg so that you can get to as many of the wonderful sites there as possible and stops in the Baltic republics, Finland, old East Germany and Denmark as well as an overnight in Stockholm. Anthem of the Seas Fantastic by linda3693

I really cant believe some of the reviews i am reading ? We had a fantastic cruise on a wonderful ship . I think some people either dont research, so go on the wrong ship or, just like to moan and find fault. The embarkation was about 10 mins as was debarkation . The ship was just beautiful with plenty of things and places to go . If you wanted quiet you could find it . As,for the previous review saying about the bar staff around the pool??? there were plenty of staff coming around for orders and we very rarely had to wait .Also if you dont want kids running around then dont go on a ship that is obviously geared up for children ?? We didnt have children with us and it didnt bother us Continue reading... Fantastic

    Britannia Great Holiday by Marbles,-12

Having read the reviews prior to our trip I was really concerned however there was nothing to worry about the ship was great. We had a balcony cabin mid ship A deck room number 4102 we had no issues with lifts with only being 1 floor from the pools and the horizon I would really recommend A deck. Food was Amazing in all restaurants there was anything you wanted. There are a number of restaurants that you do have to pay a cover charge they are worth trying on a 14 night holiday the only restaurant I was not keen on was the Indian but that may of been personal choice as a lot of passengers loved it. Marco Polo Very good deal by cheerful cruiser

We had cruised with P&O in March and had a thoroughly miserable time so when we saw an offer in travel agent for a 6 night cruise we decided to try it to hopefully restore our faith in cruising! It did! Marco Polo is a small ship and celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, but it is good shape and, as we expect (unlike P&O), it was being thoroughly and constantly cleaned and polished. The public areas were pleasant, not huge, but this a proper ship-shaped ship, not an apartment block at sea. It was a short cruise so no time to be bored, but actually there was plenty to do and the entertainment was pretty good. Continue reading... Very good deal

Norwegian Epic Norwegian Epic by donna.raynes

This was our first cruise and it was an amazing experience. The Norwegian Epic is an outstanding ship and has everything that you could wish for on board. Every thing went with ease, embarking, the off shore excursions are so well organised and yes I have seen the other comments regarding these and whilst I agree that theses should be marketed at more competitive prices, I would like to mention that the current system works out cheaper about £4-£8 per person if you book these trips in advance before embarking. Britannia Southampton to Guernsey on the Channel Islands by Alex Naughton

I and my mum have just come back from a weekend cruise on board the Britannia from Southampton to Guernsey. I am in my mid thirties and we are both first time cruisers. We travelled down to Southampton by train and got a taxi to the Ocean Terminal where the ship sailed from. On our e-ticket we had been given an arrival time of 1230 to turn up at the cruise terminal. This in fact was misleading as many passengers seemed to ignore this and just turn up when they felt like it. So the terminal was very crowded. There were not enough seats in the terminal to handle the full complement of passengers. Continue reading... Southampton to Guernsey on the Channel Islands

Brilliance of the Seas It was a 12 night Baltic Cruise. by spideyswims

This was cruise number 10, all with Royal. Check in in Harwich was very easy, parking so close to the terminal and the curtesy bus was waiting for us. When we got to the terminal there was no demand for a tip either. If going by train, the train station is next to the hanger wher you check in, no taxi's needed like Southampton. Although this was the smallest ship, sorry cruise liner, we had been on, it was perfect. Continue reading... It was a 12 night Baltic Cruise.

Anthem of the Seas Fantastic but a few niggles by Chufty

We've just got back from our holiday on the Anthem of the Seas. In general we had a fantastic time but there were a few things that we wanted to highlight that other guests should be aware of. Firstly our cabin, a family balcony cabin seemed narrower than on the Independence. It was apparently meant for 4 but with only 3 of us there didn't seem as much room and we did struggle a bit. We did complain re this but we got the impression that the staff thought we just wanted an upgrade so were quite dismissive, despite us continually saying that we had family and friends either side of us so didn't want to move. Continue reading... Fantastic but a few niggles

Thomson Dream Cuban Fusion - an excellent holiday by Probins

This is the 4th time I have travelled on the Thomson Dream around the Caribbean and thoroughly enjoyed it. The flight to Montego Bay on the Dreamliner was a pleasant experience. The only issue was the waiting around for immigration at Montego Bay airport, but it was not a really big deal.I am a single traveller and booked the only single cabin on deck 7, which is aft. I only had to step out of my cabin to walk out onto one of the lower aft sun/viewing decks. The cabin was a very good size for one person, and was kept spotlessly clean. Continue reading... Queen Victoria First time cruisers by EssexFarmers

Embarkation - was a dream, very efficient and in our cabin within an hour of arriving at Southampton. We brought on a bottle of spirits and some mixers with no trouble. I think as long as you are discreet and don't take advantage, it's allowed. A quick unpack then into the Lido for a spot of lunch and to explore the ship (although I still had trouble with front and rear of the ship even with my trusty map! Continue reading...
