I have always handled bookings for our cruises across several lines without issue including the first one with MSC. That said, you are absolutely right when it comes to dealing with MSC. Mrs P has a coworker who is a TA. The TA offered to book our next cruise (MSC Seashore, July 13) and I would run a mock booking and go with the better choice. The TA price saved us over $700 overall for Aurea suite, with drink/internet package. Thank you Martha!!

Greetings, Does anyone know for sure and for certain if the SCUBA shop at Ocean Cay has reopened? Thanks!

That used to be the case onboard MAS Paradise and is no more. Effective April 25th, MAS Paradise offers a drink package STARTING at $75pp nightly. MAS Islander drink package starts at $65pp nightly. Kinda bummed about Paradise switching. Mrs P and I have 14 or so drinks on wristbands from our cruise on Paradise.

Slices are free from the Coffee Shop, which is opposide of Frank and Lola's. I think you are limited to two slices per person at a time. It was that way last May.

Questions ? Questions ? Luggage tags, check in....

Fins, no assigned times. The Hostess told our group that Fins gets very busy around 7pm. Specialty Dining: Far Side Sushi is incorporated into the Far Side of the World Bar and is walk-up. Island Eats and Tiki Grill are walk-up quick serve options located on either side of the Tiki Bar. Islander dining room serves the same menu as Fins, with a few additional menu items. There is a pic of the Day 1 menu insert in the thread I posted above. No reservations required for Islander. Pearls Dining is a small dining room adjacent to Fins. It was not in use during our cruise. I believe it is reserved for larger groups and private bookings. JWB Steakhouse Sorry, I have no idea how that one works. Room Service was not offered during our cruise. Side notes: During our cruise, food service hours were rather erratic. At certain times during the day Frank and Lola's was the only food option. The last night of the cruise, the Tiki Bar and both quick-serves there were closed very early. The Mexican Cutie has very good food when it is open. -
Don't know the answer to that one. No gin drinkers in our party.

This is from MAS Paradise. Cheeseburge in Paradise and Frank & Lola's are included onboard MAS Islander.

Enjoy the trip. Any changes due to Beryl?

Always wanted to be on a cruise when a hurricane is out there
pr8hd replied to crusingrightnow's topic in Hurricane Zone 2025
No, no you you don't. In the 1970'ss I was onboard a US Navy Oiler (Empty of course) in the Sea of Japan when a tropical storm hiy. Not a hurricane, just a storm. You do NOT want to go through that. -
Sailing to Cozumel and Progreso on the 16th with MAS. Both ports being in the eye of Cat III Beryl right about now. . Hope the peninsula gets through with minimal damage and no casualties. . Have excursions set up at both ports. Considering the idea of cancelling and, if possible, spending the port time being useful in some way. I'd feel like an 'Ugly American' if I were lounging in a cabana, while a few feet away, people are trying to live in what is left of their home. .

Margaritaville at Sea Islander Confirmed!
pr8hd replied to Cruising89143's topic in Margaritaville at Sea
I love the wristband. You can buy more than one drink at a time, share, and the gratuity is included. If you run out of drinks, head back to Euphoria and buy another one. Cabin topic: Where can I find that info? Wondering what is left on July 16 cruise. I wanna be the upgrade fairy for someone. -
Margaritaville at Sea Islander Confirmed!
pr8hd replied to Cruising89143's topic in Margaritaville at Sea
The wristbands are (sadly) only a Paradise thing. Islander drink plan is pretty much the same as Carnival. -
Too many people in a hot tub. Oh, the horror!

Margaritaville and 'formal night' are incompatible terms. 🙃 The other theme night appears to be Parrothead 101. . Whether it's bedazzling your boots or embracing carefree elegance, this is your night to dress to impress. Islander's formal night will have you kicking up your heels at the Conky Tonkin' at Sea show after indulging in special menus inspired by champagne and bourbon. From family-friendly line dancing to elegant photo ops, there's no shortage of sparkly fun for all.

Fuel Surcharge ($15 daily) and Gratuities ($18 daily) are charged after boarding. . You'll have to call MAS Customer Service for answers about B2B procedures.
-
According to cruisetimetables.com: Progreso 0800-1600 Cozumel 0900-1700. Key West 1200 -1800. Cruisemapper has the dates posted, but not the hours. For our July 16th sailing, it appears that Islander is the only ship calling in Progresoo and there will be only two ships in Cozumel. 😃

Post deleted. .

What 'deceptive' extra charges? Gratuities and fuel surcharges are no different than any other cruise line and are addressed on the MAS webpage. . People expect the Westin accommodations and Sardi's dining for Best Western and Outback prices.
-
That is correct. That lot is for the Peanut Island Ferry and passengers. Not MAS passengers trying to save a few bucks. Also, there is no security. . Look into a stay and park plan at a local hotel. Or park at a local grocery store/shopping center and hope for the best.
-
There isn't one. Any booking modifications, add-ons, etc. past your initial booking are handled through customer service. Which, I suspect is a third-party provider. Be patient when calling. .
-
What was the rental price for SCUBA gear? . Would I be correct to assume $40 is for a one-tank/single dive?
-
Yep. I suspect the PTB at MAS outsource much of their advertising and customer service and NO ONE is bothering to pay attention to the published results. Your notation about (non-existent) $149 Islander fares and the Blender Cup image in the beverage package being examples. .. Hopefully they GYST soon!
