I recently realized that at least SIX of the ships I've sailed on have been sold off, or scrapped altogether. Considering that I only started cruising in 2004, that seems like quite a lot. Maybe I'm just the kiss of death... 🤨

    Does anyone have me beat?

I was a young buck back on my first cruise in 1984 on the Carnival Tropicale. 20 cruises later, most of the Carnival ships I've been on are gone, lol! And I think one of Royal's is on the way out, lol! Still cruising after all these years, but also enjoy land based trips. I'm not sure how many people I've converted to cruising, but prob over 50! 99% were hooked, the other 1% hated them, lol!

  2. I don't think your blacklisted. Many people travel in groups, so some of those large tables might all be friends and family. And perhaps some couples might ask for a table with no children, but that doesn't necessarily means that you specifically are being blacklisted. IF for some reason you are, shame on them!

I was supposed to have celebrated my 60th BDay on EDGE in May 2020, we all know that did not happen.  Then we were supposed to of celebrated our honeymoon on EDGE in June 2021, timing just did not feel right.  Now we will be celebrating both along with my retirement and since it is now a 3fer, we figured lets do a B3B on EDGE in Nov/Dec this year, 3rd time is a charm, we hope!   We will be in 3 different suites so have to move 2x, but no matter, we will be on a ship!

Awesome! Make it happen, lol!! Have a great time!

Thank you all.  I guess i should have given more detail.  Hubby and I are Diamond Plus members on RCCL.  We just got off the Anthem and decided that we would like to try Celebrity for our 25th anniversary.  We have booked 14 night transatlantic on the Reflection in Oct. 2023.  We plan to book a shorter cruise on Celebrity prior to 2023 so we know......just wanted everyones opinion.  THANK YOU.....

That's exactly what we did, we celebrated our 30th on Equinox and now this year our 35th on Reflection. We're thinking of new Edge class for our 35th and 1/2, lol!

Why would you get slammed, you are certainly allowed your own opinion.  I agree I like it because less kid friendly activities, I enjoy the age demographic on E-Class, the food and service are awesome.  Retreat and all that entails is the best.  If I had pre-teens and teens I would probably do 1 cruise every other year on RCCL

I'm used to getting slammed here when I give an honest opinion regarding one cruise line to another, lol!

  6. Ships and food are different, better food on X. Less kids and slightly older people, on X. X leaning towards all inclusive, whereas Royal nickel and dimes you. X classier. Staff friendlier. If you like lots of activities, then Royal is for you. If you like classiness, to be wined and dined, and enjoy an elegant evening, then it's X.

Don't get me wrong, we also enjoy Royal, done many cruises with them. Only one with X but doing a 10 day in Europe in May.

These are my opinions, so let's see how hard I get slammed, lol!

Both ships are nice.  Equinox is bigger and younger than Summit.  If the itinerary doesn't matter to you, I would also recommend Equinox for your first Celebrity cruise.

Our first X cruise on Equinox, we loved it and are doing a 10 day Europe in May! We've done about 20 cruises, mostly Carnival and Royal, one NCL and one 'Other'. We love them all, lol, but looking forward to the Reflection!

We are on May 3 Pacific Coastal and checked in but cannot choose an arrival time. I wonder if changes are coming to cruises after April 30? Seems some cruises after that date cannot choose an arrival time.

We sail May 13 and were able to select a time.

Is online check in supposed to be 45 days prior to your cruise? Or did I totally make that up?!

It's 44 days until our cruise, and when I log in it still says check in not available.

45 days, and as a matter of fact, today is our first day when check in is enabled!

There is a thread on the NCL forum right now posted by a couple who missed their ship in Nassau. Their experience was similar to yours, spent the night, to the embassy the next day, issued passports (they only had birth certs) and then waiting for a flight home (which delayed them more because of spring break). Glad that you are continuing to cruise!

Oh cool!! At least they had each other, lol!!! I think that if someone was with me, it would've been totally different! Partied left and right, ha!!!

Thank you! Yea, it was a learning experience, but the cruising continues!

  11. Covid changed our Panorma plans, but we went on her in Oct! No close calls, maybe in Cabo ;) Heading to Rome in May for a 10 day cruise on X, no kids, lol! I've gone to a few Meet n Greets since I've missed the ship, this story came up twice! On one occasion I didn't say I was klfhngr, lol. On the other, I did. I was treated sorta like a celebrity, lol! Awkward, lol. But many, many people thanked me for my story. Happy sailing everyone, the cruises continue!
