  1. I've been checking for flights for next year on SW, and only able to book to next April?...I've cruised out of Fort Lauderdale, Galveston, Seattle, New Orleans, as well as Long Beach-all have been very easy-you'll do fine! Happy cruising!
  2. I should have been on the Splendor this month-right now, but had to cancel, due to timing and housing issues-all resolved now, so I booked this with a fantastic casino offer. I was able to book a suite. This will be my 1st t/p cruise-what a great itinerary!
  3. It's been about 6-7 years, since my last cruise, due to a variety of reasons. Plan on changing this soon! Everything will be new to me, so I'll be happy to order anything! Even from the kiddy menu, if they'd let me-some people like to "get in touch with their inner child-but some days, I feel like I have a whole kindergarten"!! 😬
  4. Yes, I got a confirmed booking. It shows my non-refundable deposit and balance due in Jan. for taxes and port fees. (cruise begins in mid April).
  5. Thanks for all the responses, and positive feedback. Today, I "would"have left on my T.P. cruise to Australia. I did have to cancel, for several reasons, BUT, I did rebook another T.P. cruise from Australia to the U.S. for next April-it's 22 days from Brisbane to Seattle on Carnival 's Luminosa.
  6. Calnev1-sorry, I don't know about this particular offer. But, I do know about 2 other offers, as yesterday I received 2 premier offers.F2P. Free cabin (only insides, but no single supplements). The one in April is for 22 days from Brisbane to Seattle, and the other is for 30 days days from Seattle to Brisbane via Alaska, Japan, Philipines.
  7. I did not know that. I only recently explored the possibilities with Fly2Fun. Some fares were cheaper, and some were higher. I always would book the flights myself. Thanks for pointing this out.
  8. I really don't understand how they could do this-if my flight was booked thru Fly2fun, and I missed making it to the cruise port for my 23 day T/P cruise, would they fly me to the 1st port of call (Hawaii) 4-5 days later?? Maybe, they could put me on a helicopter, and fly me to the ship?πŸ˜‰ (Talk about making an entrance!😁)
  9. You are so right-I live in AZ and wouldn't even take the hour flight to get to L.A. from here. (Just imo).
  10. That is a great deal. The balconies "may" be capacity controlled. If all booked, I believe you may be able to book, an ocean view-not as sweet a deal as a balcony, but for myself, I'd book it. Hope it works out for the O.P.
  11. I've heard stories of pier runners in Belize. Need to tender from ship to shore to ship. .It would sad, but funnyπŸ˜‡, seeing the pier runners running, as the last tender (and full), sailing away. I've never been a pier runner, but there's always a 1st time!!
  12. I cannot speak for anyone else, but for me, it works, as I am very prone to motion sickness. I use meclizine (generic bonine), and ginger capsules. Both of these are otc, so no rx needed. I don't use dramamine, because it makes me sleepy. . I start a day or 2 before the cruise starts. Meclizine in the a.m., and the ginger capsules at mealtimes. I have never had any ill effects, even after having 2-3 adult beverages a day. Always talk to a medical professional 1st. And have a happy (barf-free) cruise!πŸ˜‡
  13. Yes, it did occur to me, so again, just WHO?! I know nobody would. I was actually being sarcastic.πŸ˜‰ I agree with you, and many others, not to fly in day of cruise. Even for cruising out of Long Beach, and flying in from Tucson, which is only an hour flight, I would fly in the day before.. Especially, in this day and age...of uncertainty.
  14. If I booked my flights thru the cruise line, and missed getting to the cruise port on time, just WHO would assist me in getting to the next (1st) port of call, which would be Hawaii, in 4-5days , after leaving Seattle, for a 23 day TP cruise? (rhetorical question!)
  15. Hola-you're back, TxTeach79! If you decide to change your user name to the "giddy cubano", I'll change mine to the "grinning gringo"! πŸ˜‡!!!!!! Happy cruising everybody!
  16. That was a great deal! Just out of curiosity, did you win much/any with the funplay? Thanks.
  17. The only disappointment about this review is that it's ending! I've been following along since day one. I've totally enjoyed it.. (I can honestly say, I've never met a giddy cubano!!!!!)) I love the spirit class-I've been on the Miracle I believe 3 times, and on the Legend, and the Spirit. Happy travels and cruising! (and a hi to b )..
  18. Thanks-that makes 2 of us!!!!!! (still a good deal, for who ever wants an interior for $100.00)
  19. The good, the bad, and the ugly of it: I am booked on the Splendor, which will be my 12th cruise on Carnival, but my 1st time on this ship. My "fare", traveling solo was a $400 nonrefunable deposit, which is then given back as obc. I only had to pay the taxes/port fees, of less than $200. The cruise is a 23 day transpacific from Seattle to Sydney, departing in Sept. I have a balcony on the lido deck, and will have $2000 in funplay. Of course I'll have other expenses ie:flights, hotels, etc. This is the good. I haven't been on a cruise in 8 years, which is the bad. Spoiler alert:here comes the ugly. Due to some unforeseen/unfortunate circumstances, I may have to cancel, if things don't turn themselves around in next week or so. Ugly enough?!
  20. One never knows-climate is what we can predict, but weather is what we get! My last cruise to Alaska was 8 years ago, just after Labor Day. I remember it rained in Juneau and Skagway, but was sunny in Ketchikan-go figure, as it is the rainiest place in S.E. Alaska! Even living in AZ., , I did not find it cold. I would do this cruise again, even if it would be the same weather pattern. Who knows, the whole cruise could be filled with sunny days.

    Mosquitos

Too funny. Thanks for the laugh!πŸ˜‚!!!! And, "one other time"πŸ˜‰, some friends and I were wading in some ponds outside the park, and we quickly found out, that there were leeches in Alaska-who would have thunk?!
  22. Well, it's been nearly 8 years, since my last cruise. All my cruises have been on Carnival. I had booked/canceled a couple cruises, due to covid.I continue to receive promotions daily. Free suites, free balconies, free drinks, freeplay, elite/ultra offers, etc. None of these are really "free". πŸ˜‰!!!
  23. If you use www.oceanplayersclub.com you can contact them that way. They usually reply in just a day or 2. If they are not able to help, they will redirect you to Carnival. As Lazydayz suggested, just call Carnival.
  24. Now I understand what you were saying, ultrafighter-that is a good idea. (Sorry-I think my brain is fried, as it was our 1st 111 degree day today.)
  25. The O.P. stating that the cruise is booked-just wanting to change cabins, if I read it correctly. A call to any CCL rep, should be able to help.
