  1. It has definitely happened. And it would not just be Celebrity - in all the cases I've read about, the people have been banned from all affiliated lines.
  2. This is the absolute worst possible suggestion. When you file a dispute, you must attest that you have already tried to work it out with the vendor. If you lie to your credit card company, they have every right to close all your accounts and mark up your credit report. There are also documented cases of people being put on the no-cruise list for filiing fraudulent disputes.
  3. No credit card company will allow a dispute on a pending charge. Since pending charges regularly disappear on their own, there is nothing to dispute unless and until it becomes a real charge. You should also never dispute a charge until you have tried to resolve the issue with the vendor - you have to attest to that fact when you file your dispute.
  4. And another third being "I didn't get mine".
  5. There are no close loop cruises in the US (except for one NCL ship in Hawaii). Every ship is required to call on a foreign port.
  6. It could also be one of those cases of "I ignore those posts because don't care" turning into "I suddenly need a steamer". I do that kind of thing all the time, but then I also know enough to do a search to find the answer rather than creating a brand new thread.
  7. The equivalent of one night in your paid cabin.
  8. When I first saw the subject, I was thinking of an old steamer trunk.
  9. Among others. Yacht Club is a lot like Cunard's Grill Suites, except far less expensive.
  10. It often starts with contaminated food or water, and it just spreads from there.
  11. I would try to get on a Panamax ship so you can go through the old locks.
  12. As stated above, they only started offering that option a few months ago. I'm 100% sure of that (as are others)!
  13. Never trust any company's %-off offers. It's a marketing ploy and rarely yields what you would expect.
  14. No shuttle for the Fairmont. I'm not a fan of road transportation in Vancouver. It's all surface streets to the airport, so lots of stop-and-go. Skytrain is definitely the best option if you don't have too much luggage.
  15. Itinerary is key. We picked one that went all the way to Vancouver so we only had to fly one way.
  16. As long as they're crediting their cruises to your account, what's the problem?
  17. True on Princess, but not true for all cruise lines. The Queen Mary II reguarly goes back and forth as regular itineraries.
  18. All this discussions is starting to make me regret booking on P&O.
  19. On Cunard, they once held my suitcase because they thought my umbrella was a knife.
  20. Everything on CruiseCritic, including this thread, is someone's opinion. Things have really gone downhill since then. Back in 2016, they still had Qsine, which was by far their best specialty restaurant. That's long gone.
  21. I have black tails and white tails, and I generally bring both.
  22. Celebrity is near the bottom of mainstream cruise lines in terms of specialty dining. If it's truly better than P&O, that does not bode well.
