I hardly think it would be worthwhile to sue. Most attorneys charge way over the amount in dispute for a single hour of their time.

Why would anyone even consider an attorney? The amount would fall under small claims. But any suit against a cruise line runs the risk of being put on the no-cruise list.

We got a 5% onboard booking discount, no OBC. Our status match to gold only entitles us to a 5 % discount so we figured it was a wash with the onboard discount

I would have assumed they'd be combinable.

I asked an Explora consultant that question and they said the extra discount only applicable to bookings from July when the loyality scheme become active.

I'm glad my TA recommended waiting before booking our first Explora cruise.

So past journeys will result in no additional points beyond the status match points?

That's the way status matches work in general. MSC and Explora are actually more generous than other lines though, in that you actually get the points so any earnings beyond that add to your base. On Silversea, for example, you get the status but not the points, so it takes much longer to get to the next level.

Any trip to Alaska I would include one that stops in Wrangell Ak and see the bears feeding on the salmon.

We get enough bears in our backyard to last a lifetime, though those are strictly black bears.

Our next Alaska cruise includes Wrangell and Prince Rupert because we've gotten bored with the "standard" ports.

As it turns out Crystal has a couple of cruises starting in Panama (thank you Patty) in 2027.

And we're on one of them, as the third leg of a back-to-back-to-back.

Hi, SS has matched the celebrity Levels, therefore, Elite members enjoy a 10% reduction to cruise with SS.  This might explain why there is younger passengers.

But that would go against the low number of VS members.

I think part of it is that other cruise lines line Celebrity are becoming so much more expensive for the higher-end suites that SIlversea is becomg much more competitive and even cheaper in many instances.

  8. One recommendation I have in general - please make sure you get the name of the cruise line right in whatever you write. Silversea is one word and singular. I've seen people call it Silver Sea, Silver Seas, and Silverseas, but you have to call it SIlversea if you want them to take you seriously. (To be fair, even some people in the Silversea forum do this, but it's generally the people who are new to the line.)

  9. We find the two cruise lines to be very comparable, though Princess tends to have many more dance opportunities than Celebrity so they get the edge in our opinion. But in general, itinerary rules if we're deciding between the two.
