  1. The only thing I can think of is that Discovery was originally planned to launch this year (2021), and perhaps the change in deck plans after April 17 had something to do with the first year of operation and is legacy now that the ship isn't going into service until 2022. Otherwise, I'm as perplexed as you are as to why there are multiple deck plans for a new ship.
  2. I saw these two photos online about a month ago, no context but appears to be a christening, so I imagine that means good progress.
  3. Recent construction photo featured on the Princess Facebook page today.
  4. Thanks for sharing. We booked twice on Discovery for next year, so this is good news. I enjoy reading the profiles of the senior officers, and am generally impressed with the years of service and accomplishments of these folks.
  5. Did you get the AirPods or AirPods Pro? Only the Pro model has the noise cancellation, and you have to enable it (turn it on). Works quite well for me, sorry to hear you're not having a good experience.
  6. I think this is the key wording here. Priority boarding will still be provided, but within the arrival group you have selected or are assigned. So it's a different system, but similar result in that those with priority boarding will get to board at the front of the line of their arrival group.
  7. If you're using an iPhone, I highly recommend the Apple AirPods Pro. They connect to multiple devices quite well and have excellent noise cancellation. They're EarPods so they go in your ear, some people don't like that type of headphone but they are comfortable for me.
  8. Three: Green. Blue. Yellow. See this page for details: https://www.princess.com/plan/oceanready/
  9. It's good news for the six ships scheduled to be sailing Alaska in 2022!
  10. Thanks for sharing. That get started link is a very informative page. Should help a lot of folks.
  11. Does the Princess transfer include luggage transfer, where you collect your luggage at the airport and not have to bother with dragging it off the ship for your transfer? What time does the itinerary show the ship as arriving back at port? We had a 4:00AM arrival into Vancouver one time and made our 9AM flight no problems at all. But that's not SEATAC where the lines are ridiculous sometimes.
  12. I found the answer to my question in the FAQ: Is an OceanMedallion safe to use if I have a pacemaker, or other medical device? The OceanMedallion includes magnets and RF technology that have been designed and manufactured to meet the radio frequency (RF) requirements set by the Federal Communications Commission of the United States. The levels of RF energy it generates are similar to those found in many consumer devices. Manufacturers of Implantable Pacemaker and Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillators (ICDs) typically recommend that you keep your medical device 9 inches (23 cm) away from RF transmitters comparable to the one found inside the OceanMedallion. However, as every device differs, so you should check directly with the manufacturer of your medical device and physician for guidance.
  13. What’s the deal with pacemakers anyway? Can’t someone with a pacemaker just put the medallion in their pocket and not around their neck? Or do they need to stay away from all medallions? How close can a pacemaker be to a medallion?
  14. On the bright side, those in Suites can add the friend to their advance DMW reservation without the friend needing to be paid in full. That way they can at least reserve a time to eat in the MDR together.
  15. I'm counting on them being open, having booked April LA to Vancouver.
