Did I read it correctly that even with record revenues, Carnival still reported a loss?

They predicted they'd be profitable almost 2 years ago now...still losing money. At what point do we call Carnival a zombie company?

I've taken women with me on cruises I paid for, just asked them if they would pay their own extra expenses. .. so can I get a extra point for paying for them? I agree it's going too far to worry about others and who paid their fare if they should get pts for days they actually cruised. I've taken at least 4 other women since the cabin is paid for anyway. Im solo and paid double. I should have been diamond a while ago on carnival too.

I often took my ex-wife since I was paying DO. She only had to pay her own tips on her card. I would easily have made Diamond by this time with that added credit.

Seems kinda dumb to me too. If they arent sailing it's not like printing their names on a list takes that much work on carnivals part. It's not like I'd miss a bunch of perks anyway. My upcoming cruise is a journey cruise so oh ..we dont do priority boarding for journey cruises. Nothing else I care about. I dont drink bottled water and dont need a luggage tag.

First they need to add some perks besides laundry. Everyone here keeps saying oh I love laundry.

Finally hitting diamond. Little incentive to me if I hit diamond or not. I dont cruise to get my laundry done. Give me a discount every cruise on a pay restaurant or something. Yes I've heard rumors they will change.

My thoughts exactly. After my last cruise out of Galveston, I've had horrific business problems and then a couple years overcoming Covid and the long rehabilitation process that follows on us "oldies". With Diamond in my sights (just a few more cruises), I would be insulted if Carnival decided to do such a thing. As Firefly eluded to, the benefits have been watered down over the years to only caring about the boarding privileges anyway. I only used the laundry once (don't give 'em anything you care about), Can't drink anymore, so that FREE drink with your brunch on a sea day is cruel. The FREE gifts and ship's pin I traditionally give away to a couple I meet on the ship. The FREE entrance into the slots tournament is now buy one get one free. Perks with the exception of pre-boarding are virtually non-existent for me anymore. Carnival would lose one of their strongest cheerleaders among the people I meet on a day to day basis.

Next cruise is probably on a Princess ship out of Galveston where I'll be given a SOLO discount. Think about that Carnival !

    (sorry about the rant)

I have only seen a handful on the 20+ cruises I have taken. Using my back of the envelope math, I figure that my chances of my luggage appearing in one of those notices is about 1 in 10,000.

Years ago, every cabin got a leaflet with a picture of two suitcases that were lost. On the last day at sea a couple turned them in. Said they found them in their cabin when they boarded and just put them in the closet ! ! ! !

Great shows with a real band that came out of the band pit on the front of the stage. A disco that actually played great 70s and 80s music and rocked out till the early morning hours. The ice sculpture on deck, the hairy chest contest, the cardboard horse races, all great memories. Sorry I'm just venting

I remember the times where they charged by the minute...and it was super slow so you ended up paying for the pages to load. For me its much more cost effective now

LOL, I remember those days also  . . . signing onto AOL at $6.00 and hour . . . those were the days complete with that squeaky squaky connectionl

Yeah, its been a minute since they've done this.  I don't remember it as actually booking a cruise.  I recall purchasing a $$ certificate to be applied  to your next cruise. I wish they would bring it back.

Exactomundo ! It was a certificate that reduce your fare by that amount. Ironically, one of the parts of the deal was I could back out any time. I don't see how this benefited Carnival as it didn't even lock my $100 in to any cruise.

  8. As a "one beer a day" drinker on cruises (non on land because of a deal I made with the State of California 4 decades ago) I'm now putting in my bid to buy drinks for any and all you lushes for a $5 premium.  😁

I'm sorry, but I must say, if you require more than 15 drinks in a 24 hour period to have fun, you're a drunk and, unfortunately, you'll most likely will be the last to know it.

I apologize for being the Debbie Downer and I know some of you will never agree with anything I have to say in the future, but that's life.😂
