  1. Just went and looked back through the emails. It was officially cancelled on April 8, so 9 1/2 weeks ago.
  2. So originally we were booked on a cruises summer 2020 and of course it was cancelled. We took the cruise credit and booked another cruise that would have been sailing right now actually and of course it was cancelled as well. About a month ago we got our taxes and fees refunded, but we never received new Future Cruise Certificates with the number. The question is if I just have to be patient and wait or did something go wrong? I did apply to have the refund issued as FCC. I know the likely the answer is to just call but thought I would check with others before I sit on hold.
  3. I actually thought about it and if Naples had been the last day of the cruise it would have been no question but we don’t want to give up going to Cinque Terre.
  4. Oh yeah. We don’t get too many direct flights but it is all major airports, so no puddle jumping is all I meant. That and there are normally plenty of options to go just anywhere.
  5. I should have said this from the beginning, but car rental was just on a quick search of car rentals and the Civitavecchia was about three times as much as FCO and part of that is certainly because I never learned to drive a manual, so we will have to have an automatic unfortunately. But I will keep an eye on prices and On the positive side of things, we live in the DC area and so we have three major airports to find flights and just a basic search for next May (cause that is as far out as you can book right now) and prices are roughly the same to do Round trip or open jaw. An
  6. Some good advice. I should have mentioned that the cruise is stopping in Naples so I was figuring we could do the Pompeii and Sorrento that day and leave the post trip just for relaxing in a beautiful place. And I hear ya on the only two nights but with travel days that is already putting us at two weeks away and we can only lean on the inlaws for so long childcare.
  7. After a year of being in our house, two cancelled cruises, and too many days dreaming of a real vacation, we are finally planning our next cruise…for next summer. The good news is that the 10 Night Italy Croatia & Montenegro on Celebrity Reflection is basically paid for because of FCC from cancelled cruises. We have adopted a little one since our last cruise and have started the process to adopted a second one. So this will be our first no baby and maybe last vacation before the kids equal us in number. That in mind, we want to make this special, but not break the bank. So how does this so
  8. We actually just booked the June 24 cruise. I picked it is because it has a bit of diversity in the port days and gave some opportunities for relaxing as well as good adventure. Nothing against the other cruise though.
  9. We got a cruel email today from Celebrity reminding us that our cruise sets sail in 32 days...our now cancelled cruise. Looks like some automatic email still went out. Not really upset, but it was a little turn of the knife. But it did let me dream for a minute about being out cruising again. Hoping that recent signs are telling for the future!
  10. Hey. Thought I would post and see if anyone else is going. My husband and I were looking forward to a cruise this summer, but it got cancelled (though we are not sure we wanted to go yet at this point). Anyway looking forward to counting down the days again.
  11. We were rebooked for June this year on Celebrity Venice to Rome. Sadly, though not unexpected, that was cancelled. That was rebooked from a July 2020 cruise to Bermuda. So now we just rebooked again this time 10 night leaving from Civitavecchia (Rome) and going to Dubrovnik, Croatia, Kotor, Montenegro, Corfu (Kerkyra), Greece, Katakolon (Olympia), Greece, Messina, Sicily, Italy, Naples, Italy, and La Spezia (Cinque Terre), Italy. Feeling good about this since it is not until June next year. Fingers crossed.
  12. I am assuming they are holding out hope that other countries might follow the lead of Greece. I am guessing the is unlikely at this point. We are booked in mid June but I am not holding my breath.
  13. Well...who knows what it will actually be but tomorrow could be something interesting. https://www.*****.com/2021/03/16/royal-caribbean-teases-update-coming-the-news-weve-all-been-waiting
  14. We are supposed to be sailing on the Infinity from Venice the same day and noticed that check in was available. Guess that means that final payment was due. We were supposed go to Bermuda last summer but when that was cancelled we took the FCC and then booked this one. It more than covered the new cruise so we didn’t have a final payment. We are doubtful it will sail, but also doubtful that we will be able to get into Europe. Just waiting to see what will happen.
  15. I wasn’t sure how that might apply to a cruise that sails but I am choosing not to go one now. Maybe there is nothing to worry about. I certainly hope that is the case. 🙂
