  1. Some great insights into ordering some nice wines by the glass with the premium package. Thanks for sharing!
  2. I had to call BCC twice last week. First call I was hold for 2 hours, second call the wait was 1.5 hours. Super nice customer reps ...once I was able to get through.
  3. Our Nov Edge cruise was open for check-in @ 90 days. I just checked and luggage tag status says “pending - check back later”. Multiple boarding times were available starting with 12 noon.
  4. That’s more reasonable! What airline are you guys on? The pricing given was for our June 2022 sailing. Can i ask, are you sailing on the British Isles cruise in May? I’ve been thinking about changing our cruise on the Edge in June because of the insane airfare.
  5. I called CA yesterday to book direct non-stop flights from JFK to Barcelona and return home would be Rome to JFK - which Delta had on their site business class @ $3,475 pp round trip. Based on the glowing recommendations of CA I was hoping to match the online prices or get a price a bit lower and have the comfort of CA coverage for changed or cancelled cruises. CA quote Delta flight $7,000+ pp with TWO connections for each leg. Zero direct flights available according to CA. Sorry but $14,000+ for air fare and it wasn’t even nonstop - is a bit above my budget. According to CA Comfort + wasn’t an option. It was disappointing.
  6. Hi! Welcome to CC! In the spirit of trying to be helpful to get input to your very good cabin location question, I did an online translation of your posting. I hope you don’t mind that I did that. 😀 Question to fellow cruisers who have sailed on an Edge class ship: “We are on a cruise with the Celebrity Apex. Our cruise cabin is an S1 suite on deck 7 at the back and we wonder if there would be noise from the Eden restaurant ?”
  7. Joining your sailings roll call is a great way to connect with fellow cruisers prior to sailing. We connected with a solo cruiser for our Caribbean cruise ( DH & I) about 10 years ago & ended up booking another Caribbean cruise and Euro cruise together because we really enjoyed each other’s company. It was also a great way to share private excursions. We are still in touch today. We’ve also had the experience of being seated @ a table of 6 fellow solo cruisers and that was quite fun as well. Have a wonderful cruise!
  8. Well said! And yes, how do we determine if the bed is next to the bathroom or veranda? Just kidding. So happy to be back to regular cruise questions.
  9. We got the same - classic drink package, stream internet & gratuities for our Euro 2022 cruise in S1 on the Edge. Zero OBC and no premium drink package unless we paid an additional cost for those (which we did). However the discount on the cruise was significant. Our comped cruise is in a reg balcony cabin, zero perks, and no upgrades to cabin class allowed. I’m not complaining at all and am grateful for the opportunity to have such an offer.
  10. That is our plan B as well if our 7 day Nov 2021 Caribbean sailing on the Edge is a “no go”. We will take the cash refund and rent a villa in St Thomas and invite grown son & spouse and brother & SIL. Our cruise was one of the first cancelled last March and the itinerary has either been changed or cancelled 4x. We’d love to sail on the Edge in our S2 suite - a first for both, but if it doesn’t go - we will be going with plan B.
  11. Hi! We are booked on the Silho cabins 2150 and 2152. Our first time in a suite and am worried a bit about the noise from above, but were not allowed to upgrade to S1 unless we paid prevailing rates which are double of original booking. I’ve read the cabin review spread sheet and it’s 50/50 on noisy vs non noisy. 😀 i noticed you mentioned “a little” noise. Can you share more details on the noise factor and if you’ve sailed in these 2 cabins on the Silho? Any thoughts on your experiences would be great. Many thanks!
  12. We are booked November 2022 cabins 2150 and 2152 (aft S2 suites). I am a bit nervous about the Oceanview noise from above but we didn’t have much choice for S2 suites, as there are only a few on the Silho and the majority are located directly under the Oceanview. i read the CC thread on cabin reviews and it was mixed in terms of noisy vs not noisy. Because this was a L&S we were told we could only upgrade at the S1 cabin’s prevailing cost - which is almost double of our original suite booking. So while we feel incredibly lucky to have an aft cabin, I am also very hopeful the noise won’t be too much of an issue. Time will tell.
  13. That was our experience as well. Totally different vibe - champagne tower debacle that got a bit out of hand. And overall the crew didn’t appear to be happy at all.
  14. A few years back, when we first started taking cruises we had sailed on Celebrity only once and then booked a Princess Cruise. The Princess cruise had a fantastic 10 day Caribbean itinerary and was on a brand new ship. We were excited to go and had completely open minds. The ship was beautiful and didn’t disappoint. Our assigned cabin steward and nightly waiter & assistant waiter were great. But we found the crew manning the public areas like the cafe, pool area and bars were grumpy, completely unfriendly and appeared to not like their job. The ship was always littered around the pool area with used glasses, plates, used towels, etc. (especially in the morning following the previous night’s celebrations). One of the crew was dumping drinks onto the deck floor to empty them before bringing the glasses in to be washed - he didn’t think I saw him. So all those leftover sticky drinks were now on the deck where folks walked. Then there was the champagne tower incident in the grand foyer where security had to step in and settle things down before the whole thing came crashing down. Overall the food was just ok (very subjective). We booked Celebrity the following year and haven’t looked back. Princes has a very loyal following so they must be doing something right.
  15. I ended up changing the reservation to March 2022. Since I’m bring my Sis for her first ever cruise experience, I figured it would be better to push out another year to allow things to settle down a bit. With fingers crossed that by then masks won’t be required while on the ship.
  16. Hi! Thank you for posting this note. If you have time, could you share the link to the FAQ that has detail about AI for BCC comped cruises? It’s a busy time of year - so if it’s a pain to do, I don’t want to impose and appreciate your original post. Hoping I can call back BCC with a specific link/ screen capture and see if they will confirm the AI package is included for a casino comped sailing that was moved from 2021 (prior to AI) to 2022. In the meantime, I’ll do some searching online too. TIA! Stay well.
  17. I’m thinking Celebrity will release the 2022 European itineraries after L&S has expired so that there can’t be a mass exodus from the 2021 bookings. Nothing to base it on - just a wild guess.
  18. We are booked on a 9 day for March 2021 and waiting hear if cancelled or changed ports of call.
  19. Our 9 day March 2020 ABC cruise on the EQ is still taking reservations. Expecting to see a revised itinerary or cancellation. Pretty much a waiting game at this point. I’m guessing they are trying to figure out the plan for the Equinox sailings that are scheduled over 7 days.
  20. Spot on. We booked the Edge for a number of reasons. If we wanted the Silho we have booked it. It’s a great ship, but we wanted a new experience. The worst part we never received any communication from Celebrity. Not one word. Very disappointing.
  21. ThankYou - good to know. I’ll reach out to our TA and see if we can keep our S3 category. We’ve never have had a suite before and it was going to be a very special treat as a wedding gift & celebration for our son & his husband - since their big wedding was reduced to just us parents, no guests or reception - we wanted it to be a bit special. Thanks so much!
  22. Thank you in advance for any confirmed details. Does anyone know if Celebrity is honoring same cabin price and perks from the cancelled November 12, 2021 Edge cruise if we book on one of the Silhouette cruises due to sail in November and December 2021? Our S3 suite from the Edge sailing is now more than double the cost on the Silho. And not even close in same perks. Not happy as this is the 4th time our original March 2020 cruise has been cancelled. And this one without notification from Celebrity- I found out on FB with a deadline of Dec 1 for a change plan deadline. I’m a very loyal Celebrity customer who is extremely disappointed in how this latest cancellation has been handled. I would like to make good on the promise of a wedding gift to our son and sail next year to Caribbean. Hoping we can keep same cabin class and perks. TIA.
  23. Totally underwhelmed. This was a missed opportunity to build the brand loyalty which quite frankly is taking a hit with all the canceled cruises & poor communications. Sorry Celebrity, you dropped the ball big time.
  24. My favorite? ALL the meals, snacks, desserts, and drinks I didn’t have to make & do the dishes for! So hard to choose just a few to callout as shiny stars - but a few do come to mind. 😀 Escargot from MD, Branzino from Murano, Almond croissants from Al Bacio, Rose sorbet from the ice cream station and an ice cold Lemon drop martini from the MB. Counting down until we can sail again!
