  1. In April we started looking for a Western Caribbean cruise on the Seascape in the YC.  We needed two rooms, one single and one double.  The TA looked at every cruise from early September until she found one that would accept a single. She found Dec 2 would let her book a single so we booked it.  The difference in price for the single was $156 less than the room for two people. The rooms are side by side on the 19th deck. My military discount helped lower the price.  Don't think at this price I will book another single on MSC.

First I ‘assume’ you are talking about Yacht Club? Next if so , I can tell you that the last of those that opened the Seascape have finished their 9 + months contract and are heading home this cruise. They have 2 to 6 month vacations depending on visas and do not know where they will be sent for their next ship. The best sign of a good waiter on MSC YC is the color of their tie. Gold is a seasoned waiter and his assistant wears a black tie.

Also for a first timer with no track record the best way to get ‘recognized’ is to tip after every meal. I use to tip $5 after breakfast, $10 after lunch, $20 after dinner. Now that we have been allocated the same ‘team’ for every meal we tip both our waiters $200 each for a 7 day cruise. YMMV.

In addition, whether they pool their tips or not is none of our concern.

Have done 10 YC cruises and just wondered if you had anyone that stood out who would still be there in Dec.  Maybe after one of youf next cruises on the Seascape.  We had great people in lateJ an but can only hope they would come back/

I  found this interesting as well. There must be all facets of 'special' people that are being catered to like on land. I think these in the casino are called "whales". Noticed these signs on two tables. PRIVATE. So not everyone wants to play or lounge or 'rub elbows'. Many of us want exclusivity.

There is a young lady and her group that is using the Seascape this week to do her gambling videos for You Tube.  Her you tube name is beyond bl;ackjack and she posted yesterday from the seascape.  They won't allow anyone at the table while she is filming that maybe the reason for the reserved sign and they can take it down when she is finished filming.  She showed pictures of Ocean Cay also.

  4. My TA just tried to book a solo in the Yacht club on the Seascape on three different dates in Sept and Oct.  Though there are vacancies for those dates none of them would accept a solo cruiser.

She will call them to see if there is any way to book a solo..  She like other TAs does not like to work with MSC but has been able to always get us what we want, not this time. She also offered us other cruise lines who always have solo cabins available.

Have you received those spontaneous cruise offers via email? Mail? I have never received anything from MSC with the exception of emails directly related to a booking I’ve made. (I appear to be signed up for emails.) Friends get emails about deals. I do not. FWIW, I received a free cruise certificate on my last sailing. Here’s  the chart that was in the casino on Meraviglia earlier this month.

I found this interesting as on my last BTB in Jan the casino tried to give me a free cruise but said it didn't apply to the YC.  Guess I didn't rate high enough so I told them to keep their free trip.  They couldn't believe that I turned down a free cruise.  YC only for me.

I took a leisurely stroll over to Publix via the skywalk through the Hilton Hotel and across the street to Biscayne Blvd. For a few snacks and a newspaper.

I am here for one more night. My flight back to Philadelphia is tomorrow afternoon.

I will have time to make time lapse of the sail away of the seven ships in Port Miami today.

.I am planning on using the Marriott in September so interested in your comments.  Did they give {charge you a fee} like resort fee that included $30 food credit and two tickets for the Big Bus?  Is the big bus stop in the marketplace?  All your info helps.

While the shuttle price is $22, please consider taking a cab or ride service instead.  The shuttle cost is per person, so $44 for two people.  A taxi is under $30 for up to four people.  For the shuttle, you may have to wait until the bus is full before you go.  For the taxi, there is no wait.

You got a bargain as I paid about $60 for 3 people in Jan. for a cab and it wasn't big enough for three people plus two weeks of luggage. Thought that was high as I remembered paying less in the past.

  8. Made tea using Nepresso machine.  Always run a small cup of water first for whatever reason and then run hot water for tea.  Never had a balcony on MSC big enough for a lounger.  If you have a large balcony ask your room steward and see what happens Enjoy!!!!!!

  9. First of all do you have a confirmed solo reservation for the Divina? Solo rooms are not always available.

There are no paid shows on the Divina.

You link your room key and credit card at numerous machines throught the ship.  No big deal.

Not familiar with airport to pier shuttles.  We always fly in a day early and stay at a hotel that has airport pickup.  The next day we uber or Lyft to the pier.

Always bring your own extension cord and there is no self service laundry on the ship.

    Have a great cruise,

  10. I have a question, when can those who were on the disastrous Seascape cruise on Jan 15-22 when there was an engine loss, expect to see the 50% refund on the paid cruise fare as listed in the Jan 19 letter from Captain Francesco Di Palma.

We missed Ocho Rios which was one of the reasons we booked this cruise. Seemed to be a little confusion among the crew as too what was going on.

I should start an over/under on how long it will take this refund to happen if it ever will.

Kind of joking and kind of not (mostly not), but I'd recommend doing the post-cruise survey, which is brief, and mentioning any outstanding crew members in the comments section.

I did the survey and could not believe that the small box for coments was the ponly place to comment on crew services.. My bad but I expected more areas for written comments,

  12. Cruised in 19027 from 8 Jan to 22 Jan 2023 and heard noises from deck 20 twice a day everyday.  It was while they were setting up the loungers and taking them down. A few times there was noise late at night but it didn't last too long.
