  1. What is confusing is the inconsistency from Royal. I was booked on Radiance Transpacific for 2022. This was cancelled but they allowed me to lift and shift to ovation of the Seas 2023 at the same rate as the Radiance for 2022.  It is an excellent deal! I was also booked on Serenade Transatlantic for 2023 which has been cancelled and basically was offered nothing in return.

I just wanted to flag with you that Ovation is not deployed to transatlantic repositionings, just in case that is the reason your TA is getting no traction

(hopefully you are referring to transpacific and that your agent is referencing transpacific with Royal).

So sorry meant transpacific! I am so frazzled I got my oceans mixed up. Thank you for commenting.

  3. My poor travel agent has spent untold hours on the phone only to deal with totally incompetent Royal employees or having the call dropped. She has been trying since Monday to shift my transatlantic to Ovation 2023. I am appalled at the incredibly horrible customer service given to my travel agent. I would be happy to stay on hold but they won’t talk to me since I booked with a TA. Good thing I want to book for 2023 since the Ovation Transatlantic for 2022 is filling really fast. Are all cruise lines this bad?

Has anyone in the US received their cancellation notice yet?
I haven’t seen one yet but already switched so not sure if that’s why I wasn’t notified or they’re not out yet.

No letter found out on Facebook. I was booked on b2b Vancouver to Hawaii then to Sydney. Not only did I not get a letter Royal Caribbean took it upon themselves to make a booking on a cruise returning from Hawaii back to Vancouver without my knowledge or permission. What a mess.

I am on Radiance from Vancouver to Honolulu in Sept 2022 which starts her Australia deployment so I too hope it is OK. Been waiting 3 years to take this trip.

We are also booked on this b2b Vancouver to Hawaii then on to Sydney. I looked at the price for similar cruises on Ovation and the current price so so very much higher than what we paid for Radiance. This is very disappointing if they indeed do cancel Radiance transpacific.

I have a different question related to FCC. If you have one for a 7 day cruise, can you use it for another 7 day cruise regardless of price or is it dollar for dollar?

    thank you

    Heimey

i can only refer to my experience in the past. I had a FCC from a 12 day cruise and applied it to an 11 day cruise. The FCC is a dollar amount and it paid for the new cruise except for port fees. Number of days does not appear to be an issue.

We nearly always sail in an Ocean View on Deck 3.

I like the ones just  down from the passport bar. Handy for getting a drink as we are changing for dinner, close to the dining room too.

We so spend little time in our cabin after our first cruise, which was in a nice hump balcony, we decided to sail OV (unless there was a specific room on a cruise we wanted to try).

Go for the OV and enjoy a B2B.

    Cheers, h.

That is the area we are looking at. Any noise issues in those cabins? Appreciate your input.

We just boarded our first flight (lax to Mia)

what a check in, lol.  Had passport scanned 3 times.  The check in guy (so we could check our bags) asked for our visa, but when we said we had VeriFLY he took that instead, super quick from there 😊

It gets a bit wearing, but we are almost there!!!

These are strange times indeed. Relieved we both have a negative Covid test. I found the Bahamas health visa very stressful due to the fact it kept kicking me out and I had to re enter info over and over! Finally is approved and paid for. Now only one more health survey to be filled out on Friday then off to the airport Saturday morning. Look forward to seeing some of you next week!

We bid on a Grand Suite for the August 21 sailing and got email Tuesday evening that our bid up from a balcony cabin to a GS was accepted! We bid just a tad over the minimum bid of $200 a head. We will have a GS for less than half of its current cost!  excited!! Way under 2K.

Woo hoo. Are you near 1288? We have never had a suite so looking forward to this experience!

  11. Carol and Cyndi from Georgetown Texas are on our first B2B august 21 & 28. We booked august 21 and decided we might as well stay on board to celebrate my birthday on September 2! What a great birthday gift. We are scheduled for our Covid test august 18 and I will breath a big sigh of relief when negative test results are given! I normally fly in a day early but my TA said flying in same day with Royal Air2sea would be fine since ship does not leave til that night. Fingers crossed. All I know is that once we get on board a large tropical drink will be ordered. So many helpful people on all the Royal blogs have been much appreciated. See y’all soon!
