  1. Cost is always an issue with a PH suite. But as you can see from the photos posted it is an absolutely phenomenal space!! You alone can decide whether the special occasion you're celebrating justifies the high cost, or whether being in a Royal Suite will suffice. Personally, I would suggest that if you don't plan on doing all kinds of entertaining, go with the RS. But that private veranda in an M-class PH...., wowsers. LOVE IT!
  2. This was certainly NOT our experience on an April Beyond sailing. Most nights my partner ordered from the Classic menu and never once received cold food. CM
  3. We just dined in Luminae on Beyond in April. For us, it was a fine experience, enough so that we only ventured to a specialty restaurant one night of our 11. We always asked for a two-top table and were seated quickly (at 6:30pm). Even sitting at the two person table we usually did (along the inside wall) there was still an excellent view to the ocean. Great service, marvelous waiter Om, and great cuisine.
  4. I've done a full transit many times and a partial a couple of times in the 9 times I've been to the Canal. And on one sailing had the honor and privilege of giving a multi-media presentation on the Canal in the cinema. Though I've always stayed on ship, I agree with the consensus from those who took excursions that they felt they didn't get as good an impression of the Canal and/or it's workings.
  5. Hope you enjoyed it! We're in that stateroom on the April 7 sailing.... C.M.
  6. We will be in a Retreat category stateroom on our next Celebrity cruise and received this e-mail from the cruise line ~ As a guest of The Retreat*, you'll enjoy the very best we have to offer. Your Sky Suite is a breathtaking space that comes with an array of outstanding amenities and personalized service to cater to your every need. Savor world-class cuisine at Luminae, a private restaurant for guests of The Retreat, unwind in our most exclusive accommodations, and enjoy your favorite beverages throughout the ship. The captain and crew of Celebrity Silhouette® look forward to welcoming you aboard. We're confident your sailing will prove to be an unforgettable one. The butler service is often what you make of it. Ask them for things and enjoy the service, try having a meal en suite and enjoy them serving it. CM
  7. I had to laugh when I saw the title of this thread, "Celebrity Website Sucks!". We've been Celebrity loyalists for well over 25 years. Though things are vastly better than they once were, I've always thought the website was their weakest link.... I even thought once about writing in to say, "Are you familiar at all with the webpage concept of 'user friendly'?" 😉 CM
  8. ...well, I'm not sure what you consider "dressy". The days of required suits/tuxedos or evening gowns are long gone on Celebrity, et al. Yes, Celebrity will have what they dub "Evening Chic" evenings where the suggested attire is to be nicer than the other evenings, but it is still a long ways from formal. If gentlemen wear long pants and a collared shirt, you'll be fine. If ladies wear dress slacks (or a skirt) and a nice blouse, they'll be fine. Please don't let attire dictate your enjoyment. The buffet for dinner is a very nice option. The food is always fresh and the variety extensive. Have a wonderful cruise! CM
  9. I use my Dexcom G7 CGM all the time on cruise ships/airplanes/etc. As others point out, the CGM communicates with the phone app via Bluetooth and I never have a problem. CM
  10. We just passed through Rotterdam cruise terminal in May. We found it to be a easy-peasy experience. Very smooth, no lines, no waiting, altogether pleasant. CM
